Thank you for watching bro! You said “Agree with most of what you said.” I know not everyone is going to agree all the time, but I’m curious to know what you disagree with? Hopefully you can change my perspective.
@@clintmallon actually nothing I can think of at the moment lol. I played it safe with my verbage just in case something comes to mind lol. I do enjoy the X trimmer over my gold fx.
For sure!! That X is almost perfect. BaByliss in general needs to step their game up! - The FX’s (All of them) are lackluster. - The LoPROFX is too. - The FX3 is hardly better than the Slimline Pro. 7 out of 10, at best. 🤦♂️ I think JRL, Gamma, Stylecraft, Cocco, and TPOB are all superior to BaByliss. “The King” is not really the king in reality. I’m happy to share what’s really going on with the people, without a care in the world of ever getting sponsored by Stylecraft or BaByliss. If they want me to give them a good review, all they have to do is make outstanding products. Until then, they had it coming. I appreciate your support man!
Thank you! I'm not a Barber, but I've been into self cutting and Barber tools since 2009-2010. I remember when everybody was modding their corded Andis T-Outliners. I wanted to start cutting and collecting again, but there are so many new tools on the market I start getting confused. I literally had to start watching just haircut videos, and decide base off the quality of the tools being used. All these new Barbers kept rating Stylecraft & Babyliss the highest amongst Barber tools. But most Barbers that recommended those brands are brand affiliates. Funny how their videos are always recommended, or advertised first in the UA-cam search engine. Babyliss seems like a decent brand. I think the FX Line is over hype though. Barbers swear by the Gold FX trimmers. But when they do lineups with them I swear they go over the same spots 4 or 5 times. And StyleCraft and Gamma are just cheap generic made in China tools. These new Barbers barely talk about how TPOB sells the same exact tools with recolored cases. Only thing decent from SC is the Saber. They leave a crisp line, but don't seem to completely bald out the over grown hairs on the hairline. I decided to go with the Cordless Gold Wahl Magic Clips. As my first clippers back because how it fades, and its overall performance. I wanted to address the biaseness and hypocrisy of these sponsored Barbers since way back. I watched them recommend the StyleCraft Instincts clipper. Even though from their own admission they say they're small and awkward in hand. They're loud, over heat, and have a useless feature. And they dislike the Gold Magic Clips because of unimportant quality like color. Only bad thing they can say about the Gold MC is run time. The Gold MC comes with premium guards, and a charging stand. And is a mix between the two best selling clippers of all time. And these sponsor Barbers still try to downplay them. I'm glad I'm older and wiser now, because these entitled money hungry Barbers. Could've convinced me to spend $200+ on some junk! So glad I research and take my time before I buy anything now. They're mad because the OG big 3 brands Andis, Wahl, and Oster. Won't sponsor them, and barely acknowledges them. So glad somebody finally spoke up!
Love this comment and thanks for watching. You are correct with a lot about what you stated. Have you watched my Wahl Gold Detailer Li video? Everyone is correct about that trimmer and I go into a ton of detail about it. Check out my official list too. I make this page for people like you: clintmallon.com/best-hair-trimmers
Very in depth review. Some notes 1. Not many barbers will use the trimmer guards. 2. The Babyliss FX trimmer is super easy to zero gap, everyone should have hex keys lying around. But maybe not? lol. I switched from the corded andis T outliner to the OG Babyliss FX trimmer and haven't looked back.
Thanks for watching! 1. I know, I’m just sayin… 2. Nowhere near as easy as the JRL. They should include a small hex screw with it because I don’t have one (aside from the few I received in the box from TPOB). You’re correct that it’s not hard to zero gap. The Saber is def more difficult. The Boost is a decent trimmer. Nothing great about it and nothing terrible about it. It’s just not the king and I figured it would be. It’s very overrated and quite unimpressive against many others on the market today. If you tried the black TPOB X, you would probably throw your FX in the trash. It’s that much better than the FX and is half the price.
@@Dominicreviewsindeed. I would wait until the 2.0 is coming out. They’re cutting the hook off the bottom of it and probably making a few other improvements. They said early 2024, so keep an eye out on Amazon. Also, the Flex is far better than the Boost as well. Not quite as nice as the X, but it’s the next best thing. I got mine for $125.95 from BarberSupply.com
@@clintmallon I don't understand. you say that the Babyliss FX is not great and almost worth throw in the trash compared to others. while you placed SNAP FX in TOP 1 with a score of 11/10 🤔 but it's exactly the same trimmer, same shape, same blade, without the grip (in my opinion with grip is much better...) but with some little extra gadgets like removable batteries… I have JRL onyx trimmer and clipper and I think the grip is so bad 😕
@@youclement8124The SNAPFX is in a completely different level than the original FX and Boost+. I personally don’t like the FX “flashlight grip” models but because of the stand and the batteries, I think the SNAP is actually worth the $200 asking price. It’s not my favorite trimmer, but it’s really good.
Clint Mallon is the truth and authenticity that the people always needed. Video quality and thought put in are crazy. Too bad he’s so old and will have to retire soon.
I hate the hype around the saber. They definitely used influencers to hype it up. I bought it cheap and sold it within a month. Both companies are ripping ppl off.
BAM! The truth, and I couldn’t agree more!! Thank you for watching and I will add this: Gamma/Stylecraft is the same company and the Gamma Cyborg is the same product as the Saber. They gave it a completely different housing, stand, etc. It is PHENOMENAL!! If you can find one on sale, and you can afford it… do yourself a favor. I absolutely love it and think it’s worth every penny of $200. One of the top trimmers ever created.
@@JVBL1Haha!! The more you go down this rabbit hole, the more you’ll start seeing the truth. Like I said… “What you see and hear on UA-cam isn’t real.” My next video is the Gamma Cyborg vs. Wahl Hi-Viz, so stay tuned. And I applaud you for doing your research. If you ever have questions, I will obviously reply. I do encourage you to open my website though, and actually read my notes about everything. I have done twice as much work as anyone else on this platform. I promise you that!
@@clintmallon cyborg will outshine the hi-viz, a better comparison with the cyborg is the fxone fx gold or protege pegasus or cocco pro bldc or lo pro FX one, leaning more towards the fxone fx gold though. Only issue I seen for the fxone clippers and shavers is the charging dock not charging due to charging prongs becoming decompressed. An important subject I have noticed and learned from other yt reviewers is the interchangeability and swapping out of blades. Ex. the cyborg has different variants of blades to choose from as too the lo pro fxone w/ the rose gold dlc 2.0 blade. The cocco pro bldc has a "digital gap" blade, supposedly super sharp, but tpob x w/ psycho or digital gap ambass. dlc blade is practically the same machine. Really like how your reviews get more in depth as for the aesthetics of things and give a first person view of the products, other barber reviews quite helpful too I pick up many tips, clues & hints on blades and techniques also be able have a high network through social media.
Wahl HI-VIZ enters the chat…on a serious note I will sit patiently for you to do a review on said new trimmer. Also I love the honesty of the review. It’s refreshing.
Thank you for watching and for the kind words! I think it’s important to tell people the truth about these things, since you never really know until they’re in your hands. I’m considering buying the Hi-Viz, but at this point (knowing what I know now), I don’t really trust Wahl or Andis to produce world-class products. If I were a betting man, I would bet the Hi-Viz is nowhere near something as good as the BaByliss SNAPFX, Stylecraft Rebel, JRL 2020T, or even the TPOB X. We shall see. 😉
@@valetudo025I am indeed. It should be out in about two weeks. I give it a solid 8/10. It’s just not on the same level as over a dozen other trimmers I’ve purchased and tested. There are so many things about it that I don’t like and I think an 8 is a fair rating for what they created. BaByliss, Gamma/Stylecraft, JRL, and TPOB are simply trying harder and it really shows when you put Wahl products to the test. Unfortunately, as a company, they are “Resting on their laurels” more than any other brand aside from Andis.
1st. Great video. 2nd, the zero gapping tool that comes with the babyliss has a screwdriver in it. The black handle part comes out and its a mini screwdriver. 3rd the zero gapping tool for the saber was the easiest and best gap setter I've ever used. Almost made them too sharp. Have to use a light hand. I'm a barber of 25yrs. Was a corded Andis guy till the slimline came out. Moved on to the gold fx. The blades take a little to break in but once they did they were the GOAT liner. Tried the saber and haven't looked back. Traight out the box they did everything with ease and with a fantastic run time. Bulk no problem. Great detail and line work also. Just recently used the blade setter it comes with when purchasing a new blade that didn't come as gd as the original. Let me tell u, these things hit harder than anything I've ever used and I still use them for balding fades. I have the gold sabers. I heard the black blade isn't as gd. I also heard the gold non t-blade is the best out of them all. Great content.
Thank you for the kind words. I’m really happy you like the Saber. I recently released the Cyborg video and that thing is the Saber on steroids. Same internals, same blade, better ergonomics and stand. I like it a lot more than the Saber. The SNAPFX is the Boost on steroids. You don’t need a zero gapping tool and it comes with a beautiful stand and 8hrs of run time. Better product across the board in my opinion. Also, the TPOB X is the same thing as the Cocco BLDC. I think it smokes the Saber and Boost. It’s not even close. I actually reach for it more than the Cyborg and the SNAPFX. Thanks for watching!
I used my buddy's saber with the fx 2.0 blade and thought it was awesome. Then I bought the saber and kept the original blade on it and zero gapped it and I must say it's by far the best trimmer I've ever used. It's truly zero gapped (which was crazy easy) to the very edge of the still blade and it doesn't snag, or cut skin but it hits like a dream. I can use it under the chin and on the neck and it doesn't pull hairs out and I didn't have the problem with the charging stand that you're having. I appreciate your review, but the saber is an amazing trimmer. It's quiet, powerful, and melts the hair off with ease. (Black version)
@@clintmallon I will be getting the jrl onyx clipper and then the trimmer when it comes out. I talked to someone at jrl and they said tentatively April. I can't wait. You're the one that got me turned in that direction so thank you.

I’m glad you like it and thanks for watching! The BaByliss deep tooth blades (GoldFX 2.0, DLC 2.0, Graphite 2.0, etc) are all great blades. I really like the original GoldFX blade too, which is a standard tooth. It hits better but it’s not as good at bulk removal. Still a great blade. Not sure if you’ve tried the TPOB X with the Psycho blade, but that thing is way better than the Saber or Boost in my opinion. I reach for it all the time and think it’s top 5.
Everyone! If you’re in the market to buy a new trimmer right now, the best place to learn and compare all of them is at ClintMallon.com: clintmallon.com/best-hair-trimmers I did not create this UA-cam channel or my website to make money - I created it for you. I really appreciate the review.. Interestingly enough this review helped me buy an entirely different trimmer that was in my top two. i was deciding between the BaBylissPRO FX3 Trimmer and the SC Saber. But like you i love a smaller size as im replacing a pair of And is Slimline Pro LiIon. but your reference that you got yours at Walmart which is my normal goto but i forgot to check.. i found the FX3 on walmart on sale for $107.99! $52.00 off! their regular price of 159.00 but actually $67 less than Retail ! Great find. there are only 5 more left in stock from this walmart ProSeller. I checked the other trimmers.. they weren't discounted like that.
Watch my review of the FX3. It’s one of my least favorite trimmers of all time. I can’t stand it. If you want something from BaByliss, get the Original LoPROFX or the FXOne LoPROFX.
@@clintmallon.. 😂 I’ll find out next week. They have free refunds/returns. At $70 less than retail they will simply need to outperform the Andis and I’ll prolly be happy. I may comment on this or your other review with my own impression.
I did oil it after pulling it out of the box, so it’s not a lack of oil. It’s just not quiet at all. Even my Flex is slightly quieter which I didn’t expect. Maybe my Saber is a lemon? The fact that it doesn’t charge in the charging stand unless I wiggle it around makes me think I received an abnormal Saber. I don’t like that product at all. The Flex is better and so is the Rebel. Also, I like everything about the X more, aside from the fact that it doesn’t come with a stand because of the silly hook at the bottom. I even like the Supreme Trimmer Vader more than the Saber. Thank you for watching!
@@clintmallon Thanks, jrl onyx or the 2020T? I had the Gamma+ Cyborg and SC Saber and Babyliss GoldFX in my cart and you got me rethinking all of them after this video. I got more confused as to what to finally choose. I just want to line my beard, I'm not a barber.
@@clintmallon Sorry, I meant JRL fresh fade vs JRL 2020T, not sure if they're not the same. Too many of the products one can easily get lost with sellers not labeling them well.
@@Sir-Kay They essentially have four different models: The two originals: 1. Fresh Fade 2020T (Trimmer) 2. Fresh Fade 2020C (Clipper) The two new models: 3. ONYX Trimmer 4. ONYX Clipper The old to the new are 95-98% the same things, just different branding with small adjustments. In my opinion, JRL clippers are the kings while their trimmers are the best at debulking, but not lining up. If you want something to line up your beard, get something from BaByliss. I do not recommend anything from Gamma/Stylecraft because they are overhyped/over marketed low quality products. JRL and BaByliss make the best clippers and trimmers by a long shot. The best trimmers from BaByliss are: 1. FXOne LoPROFX 2. Original LoPROFX 3. LithiumFX I do not like any of the FX model clippers or trimmers from BaByliss. These are the flashlight grip models. The LoPROFX models are the same thing but with a better/more ergonomic body. Get one of the three models recommended above over the JRL 2020T or ONYX trimmer. And stay away from anything from Gamma/Stylecraft unless you enjoy using cheaply made overpriced junk. I will never buy anything from Gamma/Stylecraft again.
You are correct. My recommendation is to get something from BaByliss. My favorites are the: 1. FXOne LoPROFX 2. Original LoPROFX 3. LithiumFX 4. SnapFX The JRL 2020T or ONYX is awesome too. So is the TPOB X.
@@clintmallon cheers for the feedback. I have the tpob troll with the psycho blade and I rate it. Have also just purchased a BaByliss FXONE BLACKFX trimmer too but yet too try it out. Not sure on the graphite 2.0 blade though 🤔
I’m not a fan of the FX “flashlight grip” trimmers or clippers. I prefer the LoPROFX models (FXOne and Original). Just my opinion. All the BaByliss blades are great. Doesn’t matter if it’s the original GoldFX, Graphite 2.0, DLC 2.0, Blue Titanium, etc. They are 95% the same in reality with the 2.0’s being deep tooth (the others are standard tooth). Deep tooth is better for debulking and standard is better for sharp lines. …And… The Troll is mediocre. The X is twice the trimmer.

@@victorortega2718 Yeah, the Saber, Saber, Saber thing is a joke. I unsubscribed from most of their channels because I know what they’re doing. I bought 8 Stylecraft products before I realized what was really going on with UA-cam reviewers. You have to take most of what they say with the knowledge that the company they’re talking about is probably paying them. I call the Cyborg a Lamborghini, not because a Lamborghini is a great car, but because it’s a flashy car. They’re unreliable compared to vehicles like Ferrari and Porsche, but they sure do look cool. The Cyborg is the exact same product as the Saber with a different shell. I don’t love either of them. Now… BaByliss “FX” clippers and trimmers (the barbell/flashlight grip models) are terrible. All of them. The FX3 is terrible too. However… the LoPROFX and the LithiumFX are at the absolute top when it comes to all trimmers and clippers. I love them and you would too because they check all the boxes. Don’t count out BaByliss because you bought an FX and it sucked. Just wanted to clear that up. Hi Demond! Thanks for the kind words. After buying eight different Stylecraft products, I refuse to buy another from them. Their products are all middle/bottom of the line, and I don’t recommend them to anyone. I can help you here though… The Instinct and the Instinct X are two of the most problematic clippers ever created. I’ve even seen videos of them blowing up sitting at someone’s station. Vector motors are insanely loud, it’s an inferior motor technology just like a magnetic motor, and the build quality of both devices is extremely low. They are knockoff’s of MRD, which is the original. Do a Google search for “MRD Clipper” or “MRD Trimmer.” You’ll see the Instinct X, original Instinct, the Saber, etc. The UA-camrs that talk about Stylecraft products over and over, are sponsored/promotional videos. Those guys aren’t saying they’re the best products for free, they’re getting paid and they’re lying to you. Stay away from Stylecraft and Gamma. Hey bro quick question i wanted to upgrade my blades im torn between the graphipe 2.0 and fx gold from babyliss but there are so many options, i want to get one that will give me sharp line ups and shape ups and or designing etc basically some hitters not so much for bulk removal which one would recommend i buy ?
I think the GoldFX standard tooth blade is one of the best blades ever. Any of the 2.0 blades are deep tooth which is better for bulk removal. A standard tooth (GoldFX) is better at precision.
brother a question. I tried a babyliss fx gold on my beard today and I'm impressed. the disadvantage is that it gets very hot already after 1-2 minutes. is it normal?
Getting hot after 1-2 minutes is definitely not normal. The original GoldFX has the famous GoldFX standard tooth blade, which doesn’t have a coating on it. The newer models have black blades on them (the DLC 2.0, Graphite 2.0, etc) and those are black because they have what’s called a Diamond Like Carbon coating (DLC), which keeps the blades cooler. Any of the 2.0 blades are deep tooth, while the OG GoldFX blade is a standard tooth. They also make a GoldFX 2.0 blade which is obviously going to be a deep tooth blade too. My recommendation is to make sure the blade is oiled first. If that doesn’t help, unscrew the top blade and pull the whole thing off. Clean it. Then reassemble it with oil and try again. If that doesn’t help, sell it to a buddy for $40 and put that towards a better trimmer. I don’t like any of the BaByliss FX flashlight models (trimmers or clippers). I think they’re overrated and overhyped, and the LoPROFX is a far superior machine. Not only that, the JRL 2020T and the TPOB X absolutely smoke the GoldFX, BoostFX, etc. Let me know if you find a solution.
@@clintmallon tpob will be expensive for me to buy. it is not available in Sweden and if I order it from Amazon it costs me 200 dollars. plus it will be difficult for me to complain if something happens. babyliss is available everywhere in Sweden and it only costs me 150 dollars. easier to buy accessories and also advertise if necessary. tpob might be good, but since they are new, you don't know if they keep good quality after 1-2-3-4 years. they may have stopped working after a couple of months, no one knows. @justgee9881 Because I feel that it’s right to give respect where respect is due. So many barbers around the world love those machines. @shottathre9s Definitely not. They’re identical aside from the Rubber handle. Most people think it has a more powerful motor and the rubber grip, which is incorrect. It’s $5 more on their website, and all you get is a rubber grip and a Boost+ logo on the side. The light doesn’t illuminate on either of them, and they both run at 7,200 RPM. No same as the JRL. The Pop Barbers looks like the BaByliss FX but it's a JRL Trimmer the same goes for Madeshow m and r models. They look different but it's the same trimmer from the same factory. If you want to safe some money buy the Madeshow Kulilang R77F and R55 combo it's like the JRL FF2020c and FF2020T combo.
I would like to see you add 2 trimmers and some tools to your reviews the fxone fx gold and the protege Pegasus a tape measure/ ruler and a digital caliper
The FXOne Gold and Black are the same as the Boost+ with a removable battery and no rubber grip. Kind of like the SNAPFX, but not as nice. The SNAPFX comes with a stand and two batteries for a total of 8hrs of runtime. They’re insane. The FXOne Gold only has one battery with 2.5hrs of runtime, and no stand (and that Gold is super ugly in my opinion). Not going to spend money on them because I already have the SNAPFX, which is the King. The new FXOne LoPROFX (Gray with the blue blade) is something I’m interested in though. As far as the Protégé… 🤦♂️ I need you to hear me… Almost everything from Gamma/Stylecraft is bottom of the barrel, cheap, hollow, overhyped trash. They will never get another dollar from me. The Absolute Hitter is the same thing as the Protégé, but it comes with a stand. The Rebel is the same as the Absolute Hitter with the better blade. Same family, but the Rebel is on steroids. I agree stylecraft is not well made. I own the ergo clipper, the boosted clipper (same company) and the black saber trimmer and the 2 clippers died under 2 years with not that much use and the trimmer is just ok. I'm not that impressed with it. I would go with the original babyliss gold pro trimmer over the saber all day.
Everyone likes different things, you know? I’ve heard others say the opposite and I haven’t had any issues with the GoldFX blade on my LithiumFX. It’s actually really nice and cuts the same as the 2.0.
Hello, brother. aren't you going to make more videos?👊 I also thought I'd take the opportunity to ask you if you have any clippers and trimmer for sale?
Hey man! I have a lot of personal things I’m dealing with but will get back to creating videos soon. Please subscribe so that you’re notified when my next video drops. As of right now, I don’t have any equipment for sale but I’ll let you know if I do.
Yes!!! Finally, right?! I’m glad you enjoyed the video and thank you for the kind words. Please subscribe and stay tuned! I have two new reviews coming up which will be fire! 🔥 1. BaByliss FX3 vs. Stylecraft Rebel 2. BaByliss SNAPFX vs. Cocco Hyper Veloce
What is crazy is that he might be reviewing a knock-off, since he bought at such a discount. I ordered a saber, it is now on back-order, I guess I will soon see if he is right or if he mistakenly reviewed a knock-off.
You know, I never even thought of that but I did think it was a lemon. Too many things about it were off and I absolutely hated it. I do know that ProStylingTools.com sells OEM devices directly from the retailer so it wasn’t a knockoff. I would highly recommend you return your Saber because the Cyborg has the same internals and it’s a far nicer machine for the same price. - The SNAPFX is better too. - So is the JRL 2020T and the TPOB X. Pro Tip: Stylecraft gets the garbage products while they save their better products for Gamma+.
No way. I just bought the Silver FX+ with the N1 motor, 4hrs of runtime, and USB-C charging. It’s a terrible piece of junk. I spent 30min trying to zero gap it and get it to hit, and I couldn’t. The TPOB X blows any of the FX models out of the water, aside from the SNAPFX which is the only good FX. I sent the FX+ back and will not be reviewing it because I simply do not like the FX trimmers or clippers at all. They’re overhyped, overrated, 2018 kings. It’s 2024. Now, the LoPROFX gen 1 and gen 2 FXOne’s are outstanding. Miles better than the more expensive FX lineup. I sold my gold Boost+ trimmer to a buddy for $85 because that’s what I think they’re worth. I actually kinda felt bad because I know he’s probably struggling with them right now.
Bro why doesn't anyone SHOW how they hit. In real shop situations. Show lineups. Show what they do on c cups. Anyone can read the specs before hand. I appreciate the good review but what we can't see before hand are what they actually do..
The fact is… all trimmers trim and all clippers clip. I could go to Walmart and pick up a $30 clipper and a $30 trimmer that will do the exact same thing as a $200 BaByliss clipper and $200 BaByliss trimmer. The differences between the devices are covered in my videos. It’s not the way they cut that sets them apart, it’s the features, the ergonomics, etc. I can’t stand watching videos where the presenter does a cut because they all turn out the exact same. I fast forward thru the cut because I want to hear their thoughts, not watch how they fade. Thanks for watching.
🔥 review! I enjoyed your perspective and from a value sense, I agree with most of what you said !
Thank you for watching bro! You said “Agree with most of what you said.”
I know not everyone is going to agree all the time, but I’m curious to know what you disagree with? Hopefully you can change my perspective.
@@clintmallon actually nothing I can think of at the moment lol. I played it safe with my verbage just in case something comes to mind lol. I do enjoy the X trimmer over my gold fx.
For sure!! That X is almost perfect. BaByliss in general needs to step their game up!
- The FX’s (All of them) are lackluster.
- The LoPROFX is too.
- The FX3 is hardly better than the Slimline Pro. 7 out of 10, at best. 🤦♂️
I think JRL, Gamma, Stylecraft, Cocco, and TPOB are all superior to BaByliss.
I make this page for people like you:

Very in depth review. Some notes
1. I know, I’m just sayin…
@@clintmallon Gonna have a look at the TPOB X.
@@clintmallon I don't understand. you say that the Babyliss FX is not great and almost worth throw in the trash compared to others. while you placed SNAP FX in TOP 1 with a score of 11/10 🤔 but it's exactly the same trimmer, same shape, same blade, without the grip (in my opinion with grip is much better...) but with some little extra gadgets like removable batteries…
I have JRL onyx trimmer and clipper and I think the grip is so bad 😕
@@youclement8124The SNAPFX is in a completely different level than the original FX and Boost+. I personally don’t like the FX “flashlight grip” models but because of the stand and the batteries, I think the SNAP is actually worth the $200 asking price. It’s not my favorite trimmer, but it’s really good.
Clint Mallon is the truth and authenticity that the people always needed. Video quality and thought put in are crazy. Too bad he’s so old and will have to retire soon.
Thanks man!! Not sure how old you are, but time flies when you’re having fun! Thanks for watching. 💪
What kind of shit was that to say 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Another honest review, keep em coming!💪
I hate the hype around the saber. They definitely used influencers to hype it up. I bought it cheap and sold it within a month. Both companies are ripping ppl off.
BAM! The truth, and I couldn’t agree more!! Thank you for watching and I will add this:
Gamma/Stylecraft is the same company and the Gamma Cyborg is the same product as the Saber. They gave it a completely different housing, stand, etc.
It is PHENOMENAL!!
If you can find one on sale, and you can afford it… do yourself a favor. I absolutely love it and think it’s worth every penny of $200. One of the top trimmers ever created.
@@clintmallon🤔🙃
@@JVBL1Haha!! The more you go down this rabbit hole, the more you’ll start seeing the truth. Like I said…
“What you see and hear on UA-cam isn’t real.”
My next video is the Gamma Cyborg vs.
What would you recommend for a very close shave? Like 0.1-0.2mm I’m not sure what machine to buy
Love the content aswel
@valetudo025 I received the Hi-Viz and after doing a few cuts with them, I’m not impressed at all. Just figured you should know.
@@clintmallon wow, are you doing a video on them?
@@valetudo025I am indeed. It should be out in about two weeks. I give it a solid 8/10. It’s just not on the same level as over a dozen other trimmers I’ve purchased and tested. There are so many things about it that I don’t like and I think an 8 is a fair rating for what they created.
BaByliss, Gamma/Stylecraft, JRL, and TPOB are simply trying harder and it really shows when you put Wahl products to the test. Unfortunately, as a company, they are “Resting on their laurels” more than any other brand aside from Andis.
@@clintmallon don’t forget Oster lol
Babyliss trimmer light blinks indicating low battery. I like that better than loosing power or getting shut off during a cut.
Keep going! I appreciate the honest reviews 💪
I’m really happy to hear you like it. The one I got wasn’t even in my top 10.
@@clintmallon I will be getting the jrl onyx clipper and then the trimmer when it comes out. I talked to someone at jrl and they said tentatively April. I can't wait. You're the one that got me turned in that direction so thank you.

Thank you so much for the kind words! I agree with you 100%.
Saber with the gold fx 2.0 blade is a beast
I’m glad you like it and thanks for watching! The BaByliss deep tooth blades (GoldFX 2.0, DLC 2.0, Graphite 2.0, etc) are all great blades. I really like the original GoldFX blade too, which is a standard tooth. It hits better but it’s not as good at bulk removal. Still a great blade.
Not sure if you’ve tried the TPOB X with the Psycho blade, but that thing is way better than the Saber or Boost in my opinion. I reach for it all the time and think it’s top 5.
@@clintmallon great video and I'll definitely check it out!

I did not create this UA-cam channel or my website to make money - I created it for you. I will not sell out and make videos for sponsors like many of the others on UA-cam. That’s my word.
@@OfficiallyTonyGianni Please do! I got mine for $110 and felt like they were worth even less than that. $60-80 is fair for the FX3 in my opinion.
Thanks great video! I couldn’t decide before
For some reasons your saber is loud, it should be quiet. TPOB X trimmer all the way
I did oil it after pulling it out of the box, so it’s not a lack of oil.
Ok, does the JRL come with a charging dock in the package or one would have to purchase that separately?
No it doesn’t. You have to purchase it separately for around $18.
@@Sir-Kay They essentially have four different models:
The two originals:
1. Fresh Fade 2020T (Trimmer)
2. Fresh Fade 2020C (Clipper)
The two new models:
3. ONYX Trimmer
4. ONYX Clipper
The old to the new are 95-98% the same things, just different branding with small adjustments.
The best trimmers from BaByliss are:
1. FXOne LoPROFX
2. Original LoPROFX
3. LithiumFX
I do not like any of the FX model clippers or trimmers from BaByliss.
@@clintmallon Thanks for the advice.
Thoughts on Mrd trimmers vs saber? Basically the same thing right but different price point and blade?
You are correct. My recommendation is to get something from BaByliss. My favorites are the:
1. FXOne LoPROFX
2. Original LoPROFX
3. LithiumFX
4. SnapFX
The JRL 2020T or ONYX is awesome too.

Can you do a video on the stylecraft instinct x clippers..i like what you do..keep bringing honest reviews for people
Hi Demond! Thanks for the kind words. After buying eight different Stylecraft products, I refuse to buy another from them. Their products are all middle/bottom of the line, and I don’t recommend them to anyone. I can help you here though…
The Instinct and the Instinct X are two of the most problematic clippers ever created.
If you want something world class, go with BaByliss or JRL. If you want the best clipper in the world, go with Oster. If you’re on a tight budget, go with TPOB or Supreme Trimmer.
Everything else is just noise.
@@clintmallon Even the Rebel trimmer that you liked you don’t recommend it now ? and if not why this change ? also you recommend the Oster clipper. what model exactly are you talking about? THANKS
Thank you very much. I'm in the process of buying some new trimmers. This was very helpful.
I’m glad it was helpful! What are you considering now that these two are out of the way? I do not recommend either of these!
That little screw driver to adjust the blade is with the babyliss boost fx
Hey, thanks for watching! Do you mean the red one with S|C written on it?
Have you tried the andis m force trimmer?
Thank’s for watching! I have not tried it and don’t plan on it. I’m not a fan of Andis. I did a review of the GTX-EXO if you’d like to see why.
Don’t rest on those laurels Clint, nice work 🦾👍
Thank you!
I put a lot of oil today and will test the machine again in 5-6 days and we'll see if it gets really hot again. otherwise I will advertise it, I thought. but I can say this. the machine is much better than the Wahl parts I used before. it jaws it open!
@@clintmallon i have cleaned it and oiled it really well but it still gets hot already after 45-60 sec. what could it be due to? the machine is almost new. had it for 1 year but haven't used it much at all.
@@goransvensson5547My last reply explains the issue in detail. Sell it to someone and get a better trimmer. The GoldFX is NOT one of the best trimmers on the market in 2024, and this is a common complaint about it. You’re experiencing the same issue as many others, so just get rid of it.
Hey Clint, why did you give them such a high score if they are so bad? But keep going live the channel!
@justgee9881 Because I feel that it’s right to give respect where respect is due. So many barbers around the world love those machines. Just because they’re not a 10/10 in my eyes, doesn’t mean they’re not good machines.
There are plenty of products I give a 9.5/10 or 10/10. While trying to be as fair as possible, I felt a 9/10 is a fair and respectable score for each of them. They’re both GOOD, they’re just not GREAT. I hope that makes sense.
If you check my website, you’ll see that they’re #10 and #11 out of 25 that I’ve reviewed.

Thank you very much for the kind words and stay tuned. I’m only getting started. 💪
Is the boostfx better than the original GOLDFX ?
@shottathre9s Definitely not. They’re identical aside from the Rubber handle.
Most people think it has a more powerful motor and the rubber grip, which is incorrect. It’s $5 more on their website, and all you get is a rubber grip and a Boost+ logo on the side. The light doesn’t illuminate on either of them, and they both run at 7,200 RPM.
I don’t like either of them. The SNAPFX is superior across the board. So is the new FXOne LoPROFX, the JRL 2020T, the Gamma Cyborg, TPOB X, etc.
Check out my official list here. This cost me $3,000 and about 200hrs to put together for you:

awesome review! You are man i trust ❤
I appreciate that! Stay away from Gamma/Stylecraft as a whole. BaByliss and JRL are the top two in my book.
bro love your reviews
Thank you!
Good review u deserve more subscribers
I appreciate it. Thanks for watching!
Review for the Wahl High Viz Trimmers Vs Gamma Cyborg Please.
You got it! That’s coming soon.
Thanks, I'll be on the lookout.
What fires the brick do?
What does that mean in English?
@@clintmallon lol! I meant what function does the brick do that the straight cable doesn’t?
Bro, the Allen wrench is on the zero gap tool
Madeshow and Pop Barbers Trimmers are the same as the JRL Trimmer, same motor, blade and charger but cheaper
Thanks for letting me know! And thanks for watching.
You mean they’re the same as the BaByliss, not the JRL… correct?
No same as the JRL. The Pop Barbers looks like the BaByliss FX but it's a JRL Trimmer the same goes for Madeshow m and r models. They look different but it's the same trimmer from the same factory. If you want to safe some money buy the Madeshow Kulilang R77F and R55 combo it's like the JRL FF2020c and FF2020T combo.
@doenerteller26 thank you!
As far as the Protégé… 🤦♂️
I need you to hear me… Almost everything from Gamma/Stylecraft is bottom of the barrel, cheap, hollow, overhyped trash. They will never get another dollar from me.
The Absolute Hitter is the same thing as the Protégé, but it comes with a stand. The Rebel is the same as the Absolute Hitter with the better blade. Same family, but the Rebel is on steroids. I already did a video of them for you.
Stay away from Stylecraft! BaByliss, JRL, and TPOB make better products that are actually worth your money.
Clippers are coming up next on my channel.
@@clintmallon I watched your video on the saber and it does look cheaply made
@@JVBL1Overhyped junk, I tell ya. There are a lot of trimmers out there that are better. That’s part of what helped me realize that most of the reviewers on UA-cam are paid by Stylecraft to tell us a load of lies.
No question! Thanks for watching, David.
Excellent video.
Thank you very much!
The 2.0 is the better blade over the gold fx blade, the gold blade had the tendency to nick and cut skin. The 2.0 fixed that issue
Everyone likes different things, you know? I’ve heard others say the opposite and I haven’t had any issues with the GoldFX blade on my LithiumFX. It’s actually really nice and cuts the same as the 2.0.
The og gold blade is the best blade
Hello, brother. aren't you going to make more videos?👊 I also thought I'd take the opportunity to ask you if you have any clippers and trimmer for sale?

1. BaByliss FX3 vs. Stylecraft Rebel
2. BaByliss SNAPFX vs. Cocco Hyper Veloce
lol its the weights inside of it that are loose
Inside of what?
Tools....bro!...relook with boost
