i know. I look forward to the episodes. Wish he would start doing longer stories where wheelie speaks much more - like 30 minutes, then drive like a lunaitic. loll
Hello Workers. I like the work of wheelie yellow too. The latest building vids about the new van and the descriptions of him will ease the construction of replicas. Good luck, i gave this channel a subscription.
Immediately subbed! I love Wheelie Yellow and you obviously came up in my feed. I used to have a Grasshopper in the 80’s when I was a 12-13. Can’t wait to see you replicate his lorry. Cheers!😃👍🌍🌏🌎🇨🇦
Yeah, the sock puppet calmly, almost flatly musing about life, the universe and everything and then gunning it down the lane on the edge of control is strangely hilarious. What makes your life easier is that starting from scratch, you can make the body fit the chassis you have, and boxy vans look OK in quite a variety of proportions. That Tamiya chassis you have is what RC-people call a "buggy", i.e. a fast off-road car. This one must have come out in the early 80's, named the Frog, and later came the Subaru Brat and a Lancia Rallye based on the same chassis, both of which I found weird because the body was awkwardly perched on top. When you're thinking about a Ford GT 40 I wonder what kind of material and building technique you have in mind. So far my RC car custom body is an AEC Matador, and my upcoming projects are a Unimog 411 and a Citoren HY, all clearly of the type easily made from plywood. But I wouldn't know where to begin building something more rounded.
Good to see you back . Ironically, the only hobby shop I have in town is dedicated to RC Modeling with one isle for plastic model and supplies. I do look at their RC trucks and cars and they are quite popular and come in a large variety of sizes, in fact their tire section has huge tires that look as if you could put them on an old style Mini Cooper. I have seen a special collection on one isle of spray can paints that are quite bright but I think they are designed for painting the vehicles that use fuel. I think they would be too aggressive for plastic kits. I'm anxious to click on your link to the video you discovered . There is actually a very funny movie series they made using RC cars to explode some strange creatures called " Tremors", they made five. I think its the first or second movie that uses the cars. Years ago they made kits that you could wind up and crashed into the wall and they would pop apart, but that was much different. Oh, the RC shop has clear plastic bodies to put on the cars and trucks, I suspect that's where they use some of those paints. Airfix certainly does have a wide range of kits, I had not seen the steam engine Modeling wise I have done a bit more buying for future builds and using some paint mules to practice airbrushing. I'm also trying to design some stands for wheels up kits. My RC shop has a nice range of fine metal tubing, I guess for fuel lines and control line that has some possibilities . They also have metal sheets and you might check a Big Box store, maybe you have a Home Depot down there. Looking forward to seeing your new model in RC adventures Hope all is well and Chicken is staying warm. Cheers Bob
I've decided to build it upon a smaller scale/ younger kid-friendly (I hope) cassis the "buggy Desert Truck Max Fox 1:24"" I will 3d print it, and I know someone for the puppet. But it be less authentic than yours or the real one, but probably more durable i print it in ASA (a strong outdoor plastic). My concern is that it shouldn't go to fast as in those video clips. But its pretty hard to find a car with suspension that's not so expensive either, the most work will be in drawing it in 3d Blender but I'm good at that, maybe i put a movie to on youtube, although I'm not such 'public' youtube maker. Also i wont include a camera, its a bit to much for a young child i think. I think your video (and the originals) finally pushed the button for me :))
I have a pending model of an MRAP that I need to assemble, but it has a lot of tiny pieces to it, but I want to get my work bench cleaned off before I attempt the project. But glad to see the Wheelie project in the works.
An electric hot plate could serve to anneal the aluminum cans and make them easier to flatten. However, it would also make the aluminum far less resilient to bumps and bashes.
For the tamiya chassis, I have a soft spot for the Volvo TP21 Sugga, they came with an auxiliary bicycle so you can go into a lot of detail if you want. It's a 1940s looking military sedan vehicle, quite rounded. Challenging.
Thanks for the recommendation, the Wheelie Yellow videos are hilarious😅. Maybe metal 5 litre oil cans could be cut up for the bodywork, they've got some handy square corners to work with as well🤔
Completely different accents. If you're from the south of England (Tomley RC) - there's no way you'd be able to flawlessly pull off faking a northern English accent like Wheelie Yellows, and keep it consistent. I'm northern English and there are certain words and phrases that Yellow uses that southerners just wouldn't think of using. They're definitely different people.
Was thinking the same, though its to fast for a young child i would like it to give to. Still thinking though about it. I've seen mini rc cars with cams. I can 3d print but I wouldn't be able to put the puppet inside. Even a mini one..or thinking maybe clay.. but we'll still thinking about it
Hello again, again. The Subaru shares the chassis with The buggy called The Frog . They've been around since the 80's, mine had a plastic chassis, so that Brat is a big improvement to an already cool base and better with brushless. Tamiya has a van called The lunch box. Like the Pajero, it's all about wheeling. Too much actually (like the Willie's Jeep) so mine has additional weight in the bull bar for "some" driveability, installed lights, roof racks with a surfboard I made to scale, and it's not the box drawings yellow, it's crimson. Where Wheelie Yellow is unstable laterally, or more accurately, the roll. The Lunchbox is unstable in the linear roll. Wheelie is driving an Armoured car disguised as an ice cream van. Incidentally, I converted a Hyper 7 nitro 1/8 scale racing buggy into "A" batmobile. Being 1/10 scale, you would have a better chance of finding a particular vehicle shell and mounting it with a little creativity. But! Some shells are not 1/10 even though they are on a 1/10 chassis model. Some trucks, my van, ect. Tyres can alter scale as well.
no still havnt done mine. Thats cool that he has that. I still want to do mine in tinclad card to make a real bashed up van like his, but thanks for mentioning that.
Do you think the suspension was lowered and/or springs "softened"? I've been trying to figure out if Wheelie Yellows' van handles the way it does due to the top heavy design, altered suspension or both.
Partially yes - although the body is technically not heavy, its a lot heavier than the light body it was intended to carry, so it certainly contributes to its non springiness. But in saying that, its a very soft suspension anyway - so it was hardly going to bounce anyway. The body just adds to it
I definitely would not use the Tamiya. That chrome chassis is a rare collectors item. Especially in pristine condition. I find Wheelie Yellow quite entertaining as well.
I subscribed... i will only stay subscribed while you build the van. Afterwards, i will reconsider my subscription with this channel. I enjoy this video and that's probably because im a subscriber to "wheelie yellow".
Wheelie yellow is my favorite youtuber and poet.
I hope to be as content as Wheelie is one day.
Ypu got that right! Poet and/or philosopher!
I like the way Wheelies van rocks around and blasts down trails. The cameras angles are the hook. 😂
WHEELIE YELLOW IS THE BEST ON UA-cam!!! Smiles for miles!!!

@@jasonmcmillion2332 well, im just about starting it, will cover it in a number of shorter videos, first one in a couple of days

just seen his latest video - courier packages flying out wherever he drives - sooo funny
@@deonjansenthat was such a good one, lol 😂

Wheelie yellow is awesome.

Haha, Wheelie Yellows channel came up randomly in feed and love it. Glad it's growing. Following along on yours now.
I freakin love Wheelie Yellow!
I like it when wheelie yellow talks to the camera, more than the van itself
i know right - he really should make longer stuff where he talks more
Wheelie Yellow - a wonderful inspiration to all 🚑 😬👍
Good to see you back
Thanks - will try get more videos out

yeah. i watched his new build, and its nice, but i like his old van, so will model on his old van, hope i can make it look very similar.
Haha I had the Grasshopper as well.
Lo and behold, Wheelie Yellow releases a build video!
cheers, just watched, awesome, well im going to have to start my build then. I like his old van better, will style mine on the old one

well i took out the old gubbins, put in some new gubbins and this part was left over, so i swept it aside and havent thought about it again 🤣😂

Wheelie Yellow! Best van-life channel on UA-cam! How shrewd of you to click-bait with the name.

A welcome return. Probably doesn’t help your winter quandary, but it’s been a summer high of about 110F (43C) all week where I live! 🥵
bottle up 20 of those degrees and send them this side - lol
You definitely need a micro bucket of white paint. Haha
lol yes - that was just a time of Humbrol white - for models, and yes i do have that
Make it an ice cream van.😊
well my 2nd body may be an ambulance - and not a good one, bodies flying, loll

i know - such a funny and cool deadpan type of commentary, so well done, and drives like a maniac.
I may be completely off base, but I have a theory that the creator of Wheelie Yellow is the same guy from the "Tomley RC" channel.

Good choice on the chassis! A Tamiya wouldn't hold up that kind of "wheelie yellow" driving. Tamiya looks nice but its usually trash.
