Throughout the 80s after Leeman Bennett was wrongly released as coach, the team was loaded with top round draft picks and experienced talent, but stayed in the NFC West basement. Hard luck and injuries. They WERE competetive in '88. They were in most of their games. They collapsed in 1989.
Falcons coaches: "John Settle had a great year rushing in '88. I know! Let's abandon the running game and pass a lot more in 1989!!!!!!!!" 1988 record 5-11 1989 record 3-13
Beating the eventually Super Bowl champions San Francisco 49ers plus the NFC Eastern division champion Philadelphia Eagles both on the road taken very lightly by both teams thinking this would be winnable but weren't
Loved the 80s era Falcons RED jerseys
Should be the throwbacks today the red not the black 90 uniform that is not the original
1988 was the last season the Falcons wore red at home. They wore white jerseys at home in 1989. Then switched to black jerseys in 1990.
Man... Falcons need to go back to these uniforms..🏈😊🤙
The Red Helmets ❤️❤️🖤🖤
