A backstory on the live Broadcasts. Your Hit Parade was popular on radio before moving over to TV. On the day of the broadcast pages would go onto the sidewalk and distribute tickets for no shows just prior to the show. Everyone had to be seated 1/2 hour before broadcast. Well, sometimes drunks got in and started singing from the audience. On radio, they could quickly be removed. The producers for the TV show, distributed tickets to the military bases around NYC so discipline in the audience could be maintained. Throughout the show's life, military represented over 90% of the audiences.
This brings a smile to my face. I love her most when shes singing something breezy and light.. don't get me wrong she can knock out any ballad with as much feeling and gusto as her contemporaries. As always thank you collinsfollower for these rare clips!

Hey buddy, what are you playing?
@ourdolly2002 No it's talking about instruments and how to play them
The Eh Cumpari song performed by the Gaylords (also known after as Gaylord and Holiday) can be found by searching- Eh! Cumpari (Alitalia Airlines) The Gaylords. I think you will enjoy their version which is funny.
Did this show always only have one camera? Most '50s shows did, I understand that.
The whirling pans are distracting, though.

Funny looking mandolin.
She 4got a few instruments though didn't she???😂😂
So much for the rumor that Dorothy always wore neck-high dresses, because she had a tattoo on her chest. Clearly, she doesn't.

The latinos copied this song called el tao tao

No it's a song about making music by using flute sexophone violin
