Bebop used the chain in his premutated fight against the turtles in episode 1, Rocksteady used the piece of wood. All of Bebop and Rocksteady's accessories is basically an easter egg for that episode.
Why hating on the chain? Bebop uses it in the sewer in turtle tracks when they are trying to get April. All bebop and rocksteady weapons are from that episode.
I think its more about it just being a chain. If it were painted it would be different. As of now it doesn't meet the look to go with toon figures. They could have easily reused the chains from the punk frog weapons and it would have been better.
When I say Baxter Stockman, I mean the human scientist. When he becomes The Fly... he's The Fly, or maybe just Baxter. I've always thought of Baxter Stockman being more essential to have than the Fly, since he was in many more episodes. Maybe they could re-release him with an alternate Barney head, his brother. I like that the chain is just a chain, yeah it's not as easy to pose for cool action shots, but (and correct me if I'm wrong) could an articulated chain accessory be made, and look like a chain, yet be able to be articulated in any way? Has it been done? I mean, if it could, that would be awesome. But if not, for me, an actual chain is better than a rubbery plastic chain that can't really move.
This set is amazing. I love the baby turtles in a Fish Bowl. That is a sweet lil touch.

Bebop’s colors really pop. He’s my favorite in this set
I have these guys on pre-order, they look fantastic. Can't wait to add them to the collection. Just need to find some space now...

I've always loved "pre-mutation" TMNT figures since I was a kid. Not super crazy about some of the animated style deco on these though.
