    It was really cool to see the progression from day1 to send. It always seems crazy how super strong climbers can be struggling to pull the first moves and then hours or days later they are crushing. Never ceases to amaze me. Nice work Alex!

      Isnt it always lika that? From the first day of climbing?

      On baseline, she changed her beta at the last crux from dynamic to static, and sent it. Discovering a new beta that work for you is one of the great thing about bouldering, like self discovery, you know?

    • @sethgilbertson2474
      @sethgilbertson2474 6 років тому +1

      I climbed a problem tonight that was similar in process. Worked a few moves then figured out a beta that worked for me. I was lucky enough to send it in 30min or so. Makes me think I haven't really tested myself.
      Also makes me think that when you really test yourself, you find where the holes are. Fingers? Core? Technique?

      Someone as strong as Alex gets on something that is within her limits and needs a few days maybe to work it out. It's been a while since I have worked something worthwhile so I guess I forgot about that process.

      But that's the cool ass thing about climbing, right? Self discovery? I think the metaphor is what keeps me locked in! Ever Ascending!

    It's amazing how some one can keep trying and trying right after each attempt when such work requires what must be painful use of your hands. That's such an impressive drive and I think extreme love for and happiness drawn from such a persuit. Thanks for sharing, it's crazy cool.

    How is no one mentioning how interesting it is that she took a different finish on the send? Her right hand was even using a hold that had no chalk on it, but didn't need the one on the left.

    Really awesome to see how she changes her beta after multiple attempts. Going from the starting toe to heel instead, then throwing right hand up instead of the left to set up for the last hard move. Super skilled and strong.

      The hilarious thing is that we all apparently have them. Alex is the only non-bodybuilder I know, however, that can grow them to the point that you can do a full-blown anatomy test on them.

    Nice video, I missed to see Alex bouldering. But why didtn you choose humor instead of fear. The fact that Alex is scared for flying is a waste of minutes. Look, comedy as an introduction wakes more the focus than pictures of flying, because a lot people do know that. My idea is Alex in a Supermarket where a guy is offering swiss cheese and her friend says that smells strong with a weird face and Alex is asks what do you smell and then you hear the which start a minute 1 or the music is already playing when Alex is being ask to try the cheese. At the end of the video the friend is shaking Alex and asking her what do you smell and the answer is 8b+ or we have to go to Swiss :)

    • @jacobshexladder
      @jacobshexladder 6 років тому +5

      Knall Hardt I disagree. She ONLY shows courage to admit fear.
      But thanks we really need your opinion.

    • @knallhardt
      @knallhardt 6 років тому

      I like humor to express a story, like the video "James Pearson's Le Bronx". You know its like making a sandwish. When you an avocado egg sandwish you cant use gorgonzola or bacon because it would ruin the taste of egg and avocado (fried with sun seeds). In the end the cheese or bacon fits but those ingridients are to strong and the hole picture of taste is just on the side of strong ingridients, so basicly you dont need egg and avocado and same goes for the video. The minutes of Alex from a to b are to strong. When I am going to sleep and watching my favorite videos of climbing like this one I have to wait till Alex is starting with climbing and thats boring (sorry) and waiting for the favorite parts in the video of "James Pearson" isnt boring, because its funny ( with true facts) and its okay to wait for my favorite parts of the video. In the end, my opinion to tell a story depends on the equation of the ingredients, like a three course dinner. The introduction, the apetizer feels a little to stale and does not fit the other cool scenes of the video :)

      This is not a Hollywood movie and not all movies are comedy. It's just what YOU seem to like best.
      If all climbing videos would start with minutes of comedy, it would get boring with time, because it's always the same. Someday all jokes were used.
      I think it is best to have variety. Some prefer a certain style, which is not necessarily the style other peeps prefer. And if i wanna watch comedy, i watch comedy, not climbing videos ;)

      Sorry isnt my problem arguing about phantasie. Ive got my own taste without the meaning it have to conform with the beliefs of yours. I just wanted to express how the movie could express more fun and entertainment. Ciao
