@@jeffreyhartmannmusic Thank you kindly Jeffrey! It’s my 15 oldest pieces so as you probably know yourself much of it feels inferior to my more recent work. But there’s a few good ideas in there I think and admittedly it feels quite cathartic to wrap these fifteen together and move on. I think it makes my music somewhat easier to digest too. Thanks also for taking your time to listen, I know just how valuable a lunch break can be!
You are very welcome, and thank you in return for taking the time to listen to this. It still surprises me that anybody would tune in, but I'm so grateful they do.
I had almost forgotten about some of these works. You can definitely tell you were a little raw at first but I think some of your best ideas came during this early period.
I definitely agree, some of my favourite pieces are here. My first prelude, my satie-esque nocturne and the scherzo/rondo pieces are works I am particularly proud of.
You are very welcome, although it is me who should thank you. Your music is a benchmark for the rest of us and to have composers and performers of such talent to aspire to such as yourself is what keeps me going.
Meanwhile I'm here waiting for Vol. II to drop. It's funny that I can listen to any of these pieces but only when they're together does it truly feel complete.
I know what you mean. There's a sense of completion to them now, as I know I have cemented these as the final versions. I can finally move on from them without the nagging feeling that they each need modifying.
Very interesting to see what other people gravitate towards. Mine would be sonatina 1, nocturne 1, romance 2, prelude 1, waltz 5, fantasie 1, habanera 1, waltz 3, scherzo 1, rondo 1, waltz 2, romance 1, march 1, waltz 1, polka 1.
@@AyandaPiano The polka is getting very little love, which makes total sense. It's by far my most limited piece and was mostly written as a bit of a joke.
You are correct, these pieces were created using XLN's Addictive Keys. It's a great tool if you want to fine tune your piano sound. But I certainly think NI's Grandeur (the VST I use now) is a slightly better sounding piano out of the box. Both are great though.
Is it Christmas already? Such a gift 🎁 thank you😊
It is my birthday soon, then Christmas after that 🎉
A fantastic concert Laurent !!, Thanks and applause my friend…I enjoyed during my lunch break …bravo…jeff

You are very welcome. And thank you for your lovely comments.
The crazy bastard actually did it, congratulations
It just seemed like the right thing to do.
It's so nice to see these early pieces in one place.
It nicely triggers my compulsions.
A very nice video with some beautiful music thank you Laurent Sault

Thank you my new friend, support!!😊❤like+sub
Thank you so much for the heartfelt comment. It means so much to me and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. All the best, LS.
I forget how good some of these are. To end on the Sonatina is next level.
I am so glad you like them.
Your style is so infectious to me, very melodic and harmonious. Congratulations on the success.
Thank you for your support, it keeps me going.

And my Romance No. 2 is still my best work I think.
I've listened to this all the way through three times already. About to embark on my 4th attempt!
That's the sort of dedication I can get behind!
Thank you for your music! Your compositions are almost always kind, light and interesting to me, Laurent.
Happy upcoming birthday, by the way 😊

@@LaurentSault Then I'm really happy to be your motivator and inspire you to make music like this. Absolutely - keep it up 🙏
Wonderful album!
Thank you Yoav, I appreciate the kind words
A really great little collection of early works Laurent.
Thank you Pavel, I'm glad you appreciate them.
Volume II is gonna hit so hard
I'm three compositions away from the magic 15. Then Volume II should be up.
I know what I am doing for the next 32 minutes 🎶🎵
Well don't let me stop you. Thank you Kira, your support is very much appreciated.

If I had to rank these pieces in terms of my personal favourites, I'd go:
1. Nocturne No. 1
2. Prelude No. 1
3. Romance No. 2
4. Sonatina No. 1
5. Waltz No. 3
6. Scherzo No. 1
7. Habanera No. 1
8. Rondo No. 1
9. Fantasie No. 1
10. Romance No. 2
11. March No. 1
12. Waltz No. 5
13. Waltz No. 1
14. Waltz No. 2
15. Polka No. 1
I think the order in which they appear would be my preference. But very interesting list.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but these are all the pieces using your old VST piano? Was it the XLN audio one per chance? What are you using now?

Interesting. This mean you won't modify the pieces in this "album"?
I don't think so, I'm happy to leave them alone!
Where’s your newer compositions?
I'm just wrapping up three pieces at the moment (a nocturne and two mazurkas) and I'll put together a part 2.
