Excellent. All the problems are due to Nehru's alacrity with regards to POK and Aksai chin. There were various opportunities when Indian forces could have seized POK back but the governments under various PM's didn't allow them to. Now our brave army is left with this task of guarding our borders in the most inhospitable terrain known to man. We lose so many of our brave hearts to the treacherous conditions everyday.

An area almost 35 times the size of Goa of India's territory is with China and Pakistan combined. POK plus Gilgit Balitistan plus Aksai Chin plus Shaksham Valley equals to 35 Goa's. Arctic, Antarctic and Himalayan glaciers are melting at much faster rates creating a much warmer Indian subcontinent by about next two to three decades. As per climatologists, Himalayan glaciers will totatally melt away by about 2075, if not earlier. That will turn Indus plains as well as Gangetic plains into dust bowl, totally uninhabitable for the population that it has. That will be another world unrealistic and incompatible with political scenarios being made up of by short-sighted imbeciles.

It has become a five star resort & show piece of army . 1985 our daily expenditure was Rs 2 Lakh per day . It is now 13 Crores per day . A white elephant , prestige issue for MOD . We need yo be aggressive towards Gilgit and Aksai chin or Karakoram pass . Glacier is just a piece of snow which does not lead to any other area except K 2 mountain. Since Army Headquarter and MOD in 1984 made it a prestige issue , no one wants to go against them . Those who have not served there talk of its strategic importance. My Foot .

Gilgit Baltistan was a part of erstwhile princely state of Jammu and Kashmir, which legally acceeded to India. So yes, legally its Indian territory. Nepal has always been an independent nation.

Politically Nepal isn't part of India. But it is a cultural part of India. They visit temples (Kashi/Varanasi, Muthra & many others). Their language & script are the same as any Indian language. Culture is the same. So, what difference does it make, if it is a separate country? More than that, many Nepalis (Gurkhas) fought for India in many battles (winning, over Pakistani Fauj) & covered with glory.

Actually we should've grabbed much more - whole of Gilgit-Baltistan, but lacked the resources to do that, then. After all, these are called Pak occupied Kashmir.
