In tears, he had to send her a tray with a five-foot long piece of white silk. She understood the command, found a pear tree behind the temple where they were hiding, and she hung herself. She was only 35 years old. In this performance, Dimash plays the emperor while Li plays Consort Yang. Some of the lyrics are so poignant.
