Mine worked until last upgrade. Tesla said they are aware of the problem and it’s a priority. Bu if you are reporting this a year ago it doesn’t seem to be a priority to fix.
This has been driving me crazy! It happened days after the update too
I had the same problem, but this didn't work for me. What did work was charging the car up to 90% using my Tesla charger in the garage. When the problem happened my charge was about 50%, which I didn't think would be a problem. After charging to 90% all the camera-related problems disappeared. Thanks for posting your experience. The other UA-cam video that pointed me to just recharging was posted by a Canadian Model Y owner.
I experienced this same issue on my 2022 Y. It literally stopped working when I finished vacuuming at the car wash to leave. Tried the two-button steering wheel reset, did not work. Tried this trunk open/close trick several times, did not work. Charging it when I got home fixed it. However, I was at 78% when it happened and only charged it up to 85%. Tried the camera button and it suddenly worked. Seems like some sort of software bug IMO.
Thank you! This worked for me!
May 13, 2024 and my Model Y, (1500 miles), just had all cameras go blank. My guess is that there is a number of software conditions that can cause this problem. I tried several "fixes" including this one without results. Scheduled a service visit. In my case, a previously installed update did not cause the issue, and I had the opportunity to install a new update, (2024.12.3.6) which also did not fix the issue.
Touch and hold the longrange or etc type on the screen. Hold for 10 seconds enter service as passcode. Go to driver’s assist, cameras, then reset das.. use keycard and follow instructions to reset das.. only a temp fix as theres an issue closing the trunk which throws off the camera.. at least in my case
I just wanna say thank you for this tip, I would have spent 248 dollars to get fixed from Tesla btw and all I did was follow the instructions you provided, hope you have a wonderful rest of your life stranger 🫶🏽
Just came here to say thank you! This fixed my problem.
Where’s the longrange?
I pressed the Brake pedal, held down the two buttons and it started working again. I hope this helps anybody having the same problem.
Just got fixed mine, scheduled service appointment, they came in and replace right side camera for free.
Exact thing is happening on my Y right now. All the exact behaviors.
My gf’s car is doing the same. Been like that since Feb 23rd and Tesla San Antonio still won’t see us.
Opening and closing both trunk and frunk didn't work for me.
I have this issue right now. Tesla Model 3 2018 Mid Range. All three cameras black with the little “loading” circle endlessly spinning. Tech coming out on 5/11/22.
Sorry to hear that
same problem. I made an appointment as well.
Thanks for the Video Bud, got mine working and back to normal.
Mine would work after a minute or two now not at all. Service appt said software issues, no idea when it will have upgrade.
I’m not going to worry about it.
I have the same problem but just on my left fender camera. Every morning it works perfectly fine then stopped working suddenly later in the day. Is it best if I call service?
Yes book an appointment with the app for tesla to come and look at it
Im experiencing this now. Tried recalibrating, resetting, and the whole nine yards.. so frustrated
I‘m in China. My 2021 model 3 got the same problem....The engineer told me it's software problem, after cutting the electricity and upgrade the software, the problem has been fixed.
Should say solution upfront
I just had same issue since this morning, I tried everything and rebooted 2,3 time and no change. I haven’t checked the flash drive part yet I’ll do that tomorrow. I also took mobile service next week.
Hey any updates on yours? this just happened to me as well. I made sure sentry mode was off and let the car sit for 15-20 minutes. Restarted my phone, went to the car and it worked due to the car going into the "deep sleep" mode. It might be a glitch that Tesla needs to fix it ASAP?
Just picked up my 2022 model y from the ppf shop. And I noticed the cameras weren't working on the whole drive back home. Was concerned. But once I got home I guess it fixed itself. Berri No-ICE.
What was the issue, mine also not working
@@kushagrasingh7731 you have to just let it do its adjustment because they have to disconnect the cameras to install the PPF. And then install it back. So basically you have to allow the cameras to recalibrate.
Just had this happen to me no cameras working on my T3. Friend has the same problem same time as me on his TS. Both happened after update.
The same problem happened two days and I reset and close trunk it didn’t work
Same happened to me yesterday. Seems like a software problem or maybe a connection issue. When entering the vehicle it works for a couple of seconds to minutes and then it stops. I will wait a week or two and then hit up the service.
they replaced the front autopilot camera and it is now working without issues for months
@@POGAuto u mean the one on the windscreen?
@@BobbyTV23 yes
@@POGAuto how long did it take? Do u had to give them ur car for a couple days?
@@BobbyTV23 no they came to my house to fix it 2 times. 1st time they came 2 weeks later the rear view mirror was loose so they thought that is what was causing it. After them leaving everything worked until later in the day everything stopped working again. Waited another 2 weeks they came a replaced the front autopilot cameras so far not an issue. The only problem was that no autopilot, or cameras for a month pretty much
This really did work… and it was right after an update
Tesla cobra por venir a hacerte un arreglo, si todavía tienes garantia?
No
I have same problem ( rear camera) with my S model. But also the touchscreen in the car is affected. It goes on and out all the time. I called the service center and they said it may be the board computer ? I have no warranty anymore so all tips are welcome !
which year vehicle is it?
Thank you it worked.
It unfortunately didn't work on my month-old Model Y. None of the cameras work, visualization doesn't work either. Thanks for posting this, though.
Tesla replaced the front autopilot cameras and it fixed every issue for us
I have the same issue right now with my rear camera on my 2019 Tesla 3 right after system update. I do noticed that sometimes it works and it turns black when it wants to. I'm scheduled for mobile on Sept. 28. Let me know what they say about it. Thanks for posting.
They replaced the autopilot camera behind the windshield
@@POGAuto oh boy! I bet that cost a big chunk knowing Tesla. 😞
It was under warranty. We haven’t paid anything to Tesla to fix something to date. Their warranty is one of the best we have experienced
I am having the exact same issue. They ordered a new camera for me. Did they fix yours?
I am having the same issue right now too. My cameras worked perfectly on the 3rd, I had footage of a fight at a KFC drive thru. Today went out and none of the cameras worked. Soft booted and turned off the car and soft booted the car again. I got lucky and got an appointment for Monday.
Yes they replaced the front autopilot camera. Seeing how many people comment that they have this issue makes me wonder if the cameras were defective during the times these cars were built
similar thing happen to me ;( on Model 3 2021. Service told me via text message that is an known issue and will be fixed on a future update...
Interesting, they ordered new camera for our Model Y which will be here in early August. Maybe because ours started having issues where autopilot won’t work if you haven’t seen that video yet. I love these cars and I’m glad to hear that they are even trying to fix common issues with software update
my model 3 2021 just did the same thing. I had it for a week. :(
@@lindaricardo6726 checkout the video I posted where it restarts 5 times! 🤦♂️
@@lindaricardo6726 My cameras (all three of them) also went black just three hours ago, exactly one week after delivery. I haven't managed to get them back online a single time yet.
@@simonalling My whole touchscreen goes black now. So a tech told me that when new cars ship, they are shipped with a "beta" version of software. Only intended to be on there for 1-2 months max, then updated to current SW. SW is supposed to update (change to advanced on SW updates) and apparently that problem goes away. I got my car one month ago today and I'm waiting for the SW to update to fix this issue. Fingers crossed. Good luck.
thx bro, it worked in my m3 but I did it with frunk
IT WORK ON MY TESLA .THANKS BUDDY
Is your fix still working? This just happened to my model 3 too.
No it stopped working later, then autopilot completely failed and could not see anything around the car. Tesla mobile came twice to look at it. First time adjusted the rear view mirror camera which worked and then failed the same day. Second time replaced the front autopilot camera and works great with no issues. Its been 3 weeks so far and will make a video soon about it
My 2021 model 3 got the same problem....The engineer told me it's software problem, after cutting the electricity and upgrade the software, the problem has been fixed.
I have same issue on a new Model 3. It must be software as it effects all cameras.
Just had the same issue happen to me
Me too
guys, try the basic restart when holding the steering wheel buttons until the car turns off, then let go and it restarts automatic, it fixed me the camera problem!
@@Just_a_player1 did that too and my right side camera still not working.
@@scorpiojuan1966 did you ever find solution. Same issue here with right side camera
Thanks bro some how it worked for my 2019 model X, only the back up camera was black I tried closing the tuck once but it didn’t work tried a 2nd time but I had to leave the car so when I went back to it this stupid shit was working so I guess it is a quick fix 🤷🏽♂️
After this our autopilot stopped working. Tesla mobile service came and thought that it got fixed since the rear view mirror was loose. now waiting for second visit to replace the cameras
This is why I hate having updates. Viruses,.....
I have same problem today :(
Woke up today and my model 3 is doing the same thing
Got delivery of my Model 3 yesterday and it was working fine. Today when I drove it the cameras wouldn't load. Must be a software bug.
Get a new car.
