For so many years I thought my gaming studio and setup was missing something and ever since I added this light in the background (I added 2) my setup now looks fire. Thank u so much for helping renovating my studio.
Thank you Ben- I really like your vibe. I'm a freelance filmmaker in Portland and it's so great to learn from people like you who have so much experience under their belt. In your video you mention that you do video work for your church and at church youth camps. That really brought back some memories for me. In high school, I belonged to a 5,000+ church community as a member of the worship team. After feeling so lonely for so long, it felt incredible to be a part of a family of musicians who cared about each other offering our talents together for the same cause. We sang together for 3 years and by my senior year, I found the courage to tell everyone on the worship team that I'd been keeping a secret from them-- the secret was that I was gay. I also told them about how I tried to "pray my gay away" for many years and how it left me feeling suicidal when it didn't go away. I tried to like girls that way but it never felt honest or right. To my surprise, my worship team family told me that they loved me, had suspected I was gay all along, and that they were so glad I'd found my way to "Grace Church." But word got out, and one Sunday, after three years of service, I was informed by the pastor that my services were no longer needed and that because I was gay and "practicing a gay lifestyle" I could not belong to the worship team or the church at large. I was 18 and I was devastated. I was never allowed to come back. It was a very hard experience to lose my whole church family overnight, but I made it through and have gone on to live a life full of friendship and love from people who celebrate who I am and help me be a better person everyday. Ben, since you work with youth groups, I was just wondering if you have ever met any young gay people who have been scared to tell people at church who they are. I guess I was also wondering if you personally accept and celebrate LGBTQ people at your church. If that is too personal of a question I understand, but I wanted to ask in case you wanted to share. Looking forward to your reply if you're able. ~Matt
Not sure about shadow banning, i don’t stress about low views initially. I focus on evergreen, searchable content and see videos spike in views months and years after posting
Hi Ben! Do you know if multiple nanolight tubes can be controlled via the app? As in, if I have 8 tubes, can I change all 8 at the same time from blue to red from the app? Or do I have to change each one individually? It looks like the app allows for multiple scenes but I’m not sure if it can achieve that effect. Would love to hear your thoughts.
Completely agree with what you said about battery life, big issue. Can u give me another rec as a strip light in the background? Looking for one that's not way over budget.
Love your videos! Thank you so much for all the informations! I wonder what is the best way to illuminate flat lays with screens, e.g. for drawing videos, stationery videos with hands... do you have videos about that too? I would love to see some!
This may help a little: ua-cam.com/video/gPhBN38F9Fc/v-deo.html The biggest this is to put your lights to the side and above rather than directly above. This will help avoid reflections I'll add this specific idea to my list of videos to create!
Hi Ben! Please help me. I can clearly see in the application that it is not possible to set two colors in the pixel effect as still mode? I think it's a big mistake if that's the case. As a still photographer, it would be good for my pavotube II 30X, but I can only adjust it with the lights in motion. (In pixel effect mode)
Hi, thanks for the great review, and your awesome videos in general. Can you tell if there is difference in max. light output compared to TL120? Is this Nanlite a lot brighter? Thanks.
Dude you inspire me so much, I to serve on worship team with Creative and Acoustic and sometimes I feel like I have so much creativity i dont know where to put effort and workflows to harness it, I am a bit conflicted on what type of content I would enjoy making and kind of stuck not creating anything. Any tips? Would love to try and start recording my process when I record music for others or with others and my current setup is A7iii with Tamron 28-75 and dont have too many studio style Lights.
I’d start with talking to the beginner in your niche. The process for how you record music sounds like a great place to begin. I just released a new video about how I structure videos that may help: ua-cam.com/video/3Qzx2cpFFfo/v-deo.html
Hi Ben. Awesome video... thanks for including both pros and cons. Your reviews are always so sincere. Do you have any recommendations for a good boom mic stand? I don't want to break the bank but also don't want to go for something so cheap it will be useless in a couple months. I brought a few of your other tech recommendations for Christmas and have not been disappointed.
Unfortunately I don’t have a great rec for a boom stand as I don’t boom my mics typically. But this one looks good from reviews on Amazon: amzn.to/40adQDk This is something I will look Into testing and reviewing for a video in the future
4:50 Flakey and unreliable indeed! And do *not* trust Nanlite Pavotubes to pick you up at the airport. I was stuck at Sky Harbor for SIX HOURS! It’s like, why even offer, ya know? Don’t get me started… 😂
hi thanks for the video where did you find the mini tripod you fixed on the tube at 0:11 sec ? thanks a lot ua-cam.com/video/SHF0FY2imD8/v-deo.htmlsi=ybS3yicIrrwJNCDF&t=11

I have ordered two sets of these from B&H, and both sets arrived with non functioning lights in the kit.
