Heavy raining has caused terrible floods throughout Malaysia. It has caused disaster to many people all over the country. It has a sad time for the country.

The worst part of this recent floods is; it was happened in a central busy city (KL & Selangor); which is considered the most highest population (by area) in Malaysia. So many people was affected. And this heavy rain was continuously happened in 24 hours (non stop). I'm living in non-affected area; as a Malaysians we help what we can. We made a donation, buy some foods/medicines and give some help for those who need it.
The rain was going for 29 hours.

I actually didn't expect the flood to be that bad I mean there was a few floods that happened in Malaysia but this one is the biggest one I ever saw in my life I'm glad there isn't any flood here (I live in Malaysia but is not flooding here)
Not really the worst or the biggest in Malaysia. Only for just Klang Valley. Malaysia had the worst floods ever than this particularly in East Coast Peninsula.

It's was unexpected. The Klang Valley received what supposed to be a month of rainfall in one day. MET Malaysia described this as an event once in 100 years. Usually this time of the year heavy rain fall around east coast and the northern states. So the army and the others mostly fixed their eyes and assets there.
Is not once in 100 year is once the wrost over in 30 years
There is nothing unexpected about the flash floods this time year around. The unexpected cause part is where the flash floods are migrating. We need to understand that human activities are causing this so unless people do something about it, it will get worse. USA is getting more and more frequent and stronger tornadoes and hurricanes, earthquakes are getting frequent, but nobody does anything it seems. Unless the rich get affected (because obviously their industrial activities are of their work), I believe we are just screwed.
The Federal Government of Malaysia was earlier informed by the Meteorological Dept days prior but as they knew it was going to hit the state of the Opposition stronghold, they deliberately prevented actions that would have precautions to be taken before the weather depression came. The response was also slow. But what is amazing is that most of the response and rescue came from ordinary Malaysians with the help of Non-governmental organisations. A week before the disaster the Prime MInister launched a rhetorical campaign called "Keluarga Malaysia" or "The Malaysian Family" in an effort to bring together people of all races, ethnicities, religious background. This disaster proved that Malaysians are already closely knit as a family and didn't need such a political campaign. In fact there is one person who tweeted that "This flood proves that the people don't need a government"

Its getting more and more frequent. Unsuspected heavy flood hits : 2006/2007 - kota tinggi, johore; 2013 - kuantan,pahang; 2017 - georgetown,penang and recently 2021 - shah alam,selangor. 30 years ago its almost unheard of, except for kelantan.
Nope..kelantan has high flood every 10 years. From what i remembered, 1994 when i was 5 years old. The flood was high enough that I was almost drowned after slipped from my grandfather's back. 2004, I was 15. Just after PMR, having fun in the flood, in my neighborhood the flood easily over my head, we kept a huge tube as floating to move around. 2014, i was already married and was away from my hometown, so not really my own experience. But my families were at manik urai, the flood has reached the 2nd floor of the school building they stayed, and that school was also in higher part of the area.

Malaysia will clean up the flood mess very snappily, efficiently and quickly soon. All those destroyed infrastructure will be immediately rebuilt or restored. Victims will be compensated by the government. Malaysia is an advanced country. It always takes good care of itself. I am proud to be Malaysian. But that doesn't mean we are invincible from disasters like floods. Even Germany, Belgium and Netherlands had worst floods in 100 years early on in 2021,

I wasn't paying attention to the malaysia flooding as I presume it is just the normal yearly flooding. It is really the worst flood in its history. Pray for malaysia and its people.
Worst because it was in highly populated area so emergency evacuation was hard and properties damages were at least tripled banjir 2014. Also the loss of life that keep adding up each day 😔😔😔

my house was submerged due to the flood..tv, refrigerator, washing machine and other items were all damaged..sadly, my father had just paid the electricity bill, bought kitchen items and paid the water bill ..but all that is just in vain..my father's money and the money I saved are also gone..nah..now I'm okay...
