Used video Changed filter on my 2015 tdi 1.6 Took 10 min was careful with bolts t25 €34 oem filter Free fitting Saved €30 garage fees Also vw recommend changing every 40,000 miles mine has 41500 filter I took out was rotten I'll change every 2nd service myself Cheers for putting video up 👍👍👍
It's always best if you top off the filter housing with fresh diesel before you put the cap back on. Also if you turn on the accessory switch (ie don't start it up all the way) it will prime the pump. On push button just push without depressing the break. Do it at least 3-4 times a to avoid issues (ie HPFP failure/wear). You don't need a vcds to do that. Your car does it every single time you started but using the accessory switch will guarantee that you prime your pump.
What you mean by saying accessory switch.? I think you wanted to mean ignition switch, aren't you., If so you can not drain the air of the fuel pump and system with this method..! If car 2009 model year or above you need VCDS, if car 2008 MY or under model year just need 3-4 times on-off position ignition switch., 2009 and above model years the fuel pump is no longer active when the ignition turned on.!
My Chevy diesel 3500 series you can just turn the key over and it will purge, getting ready to do my wife’s Passat fuel filter can I do the same or do I have to use a computer and prime it that way
Service every 30k miles or 40k miles (60km) on Touaregs. Also the fuel system should be purged (from air) using VAGCOM to run the fuel pump constantly for minimum 60seconds PRIOR to cranking the engine or else your HPFP has no lubrication and you will have metal filing in system and/or HPFP failure and you don't even want to know how much one of those cost. Don't forget to torque the cap bolts to 5Nm. Only use Genuine, MANN, Bosch or Mahle filters. Other brands have poor adhesives and seals.
fatsubsonic you can also use the accessory switch. If your cycle the accessory switch three or four times it has the equivalent effect of using vcds vagcom. On a push button start just don't depress the brake and only tap on the button.
fatsubsonic actually UFI makes the OEM filter for the Gen 3. If you look at the filter housing it clearly states UFI. Furthermore the only difference between the OEM and a vanilla UFI is that the OEM has the Audi Volkswagen logo etched on it. Otherwise both are manufactured by UFI .
