Romahome
romahome
Romahome , lovely little van.
Sorry for my bad english, but I would prefer the Romahome, because I' m travelling allmost alone! But of course I would bei glad with the Nu also!
Ist's a pity, that both are not available in Germany, an import is very complicate and expensive, thkx brexit!!!
The RWD I would accept!
Both are comparable in size however being able to stand fully in the cab does make a huge difference. Nu Venture edges Roma on that however having a more compact vehicle is idle for solo travelers. Both are fantastic
Just come back from 8 weeks in a Romahome, but ours has hot water, toilet, and an emergency shower, we love ours!
I’ve had a new venture 2010 side door for 2 years. Fitted a bike rack, solar, reversing camera, awning, Tv. It came with water heater , and unusually air con in the habitation compartment. 40 mpg. Small enough to go anywhere. Don’t have to mess around with the beds like that. Just pull it across and sleep crossways(unless you are over 6 feet tall). Best thing I ever bought!!
👍
yeh both great vans, love the dinette,in the romahome, but toilit wins it for me in the nu venture, great wee video mate
Thanks 👍 Its the toilet for the Nu Venture 😀
I remember "John and Mandy " mentioning on their channel about using soap tablets and a little water instead of chemicals because its far cheaper and also using a bottle separating no. 1s from no. 2s helps reduce any unwanted aromas considerably.
Yep. On my fantasy wish list too. Really want something with a toilet that has a door!
I'm drawn to the Romahome, far less chance of leaks with the GRP body, which to my eyes is more stylish and it's an iconic look! Yes more space and a lav in the Nu Venture but its a very big bulky box on the back of that Berlingo.
TBH though I actually prefer my 5,4m Possl, (Globecar) permanent double bed, big storage, an ingenious and very usable shower and lav, all practical and comfortable to use... Great review, I enjoy all the vids, good work Jason.... keep 'em coming... and thanks!
I like the Nu venture gives the option of going away for longer
Good point Sharon 👍
I vote Roma! I love both the table and the bed, and the fabrics. I like to travle solo so would love a single bed with a table up all of the time. And I like the rear entry.
I was exhausted watching the NuVenture made into a bed, and the fabric is definitely not my taste. I don't even use 4 burners in my house. I do like the higher space better.
Neither of them look comfortable as a double bed - lumpy bumpy. I don't like the RV toilets in either. I still like the Roma better:)
I seen Nu Venture with the same style table on one side. I think you can adjust it as you wish.
I'd have the Surf with same style table as you think of, side barn door, bike rack at the back...
+ Surf is bigger with a wc/shower (think it's only cold shower but that's better then no shower, hang wet clothes after trips)
Fantastic video! Thank you for uploading. The Romahome wins it for me. 4 belted seats. Dinette. Can comfortably sleep 2, with a tent awning on the back for a further 2 beds, if required. The lack of toilet compartment is not an issue. I could easily site a chemical toilet by the rear door, or opposite the dinette if travelling alone. If I were on a campsite and using a tent awning, that's where the toilet would go.
Romahome all the way for me! ♥️
Glad you enjoyed it!👍
For me it's the versatility of the Romahome, even for extended trips. Still has everything you need. OK, toilet not in a separate cupboard, but it does have one and a perfectly adequate sink for washing. In our past experience of having a separate bathroom, there is a tenancy to store things in this area, meaning you have to move things around to use the facilities anyway.
Great comment 👍
I’d take the Nu Venture over the Romahome (toilet compartment with wash hand basin, better kitchen facilities including an oven & 4 hobs, full standing height along the total length of the habitation area etc.) but I’d personally go for something like a Devon Firefly on the Ford Custom base.
Thanks for sharing! Great points there Ian 👍
Romahome yes has a lower profile, probably does more mpg and is more stable in high winds and can park in most multi storey car parks, your mostly sat or lieing down in a van, height matters only when your standing.
Some good points there Mark 👍
I have owned a Romahome and currently own a Nu Venture Surf. My Surf has the option of a dinette so some of the previous comments do not apply. The Surf wins hands down in my opinion. The only drawback with the Surf is that you can't get into places with height restrictions. My Surf also has the door at the rear, WC to the left (nearside) and two burner hob, grill and sink on the right. Both of the vehicles I have owned have steadies.
👍 Jim
Nu Venture Hands Down. Nu Venture also do a slightly longer Small Motor Home called the Nu Rio Rear or side door some have ovens some have other options depends on what the customer wanted at the time of build and customer budget. The Nu Rio has a Dinnette as well and a seperate Wardrobe out side of the Shower Room and yes they do have a Shower and most have a tip up sink, it also has hot and cold water in the Shower room and the kitchen sink and most on the side again customer depending a side Awning room for 2 Gas Bottles in the Gas Locker Blown hair heating 2 way fridge and most have TV Areals maybe you can see if you can get hold of a Nu Rio, the best ones are at least 3 years old on the older style van design. It will cost more but like i said customer budget at the time of build and also the customer had an option to choose seating and curtain colours even matching seating covers in the cab.
Great comment Philip 👍
Nu Venture would get my vote.
👍 Richard
For me it's the Romahome as I like more compact vehicles... it's just a shame Island Plastics discontinued the Hylo pod because that on a modern chassis would be a game changer.
👍
Brilliant vid...Just what I was looking for in terms of comparison...Big thanks guys!
Our pleasure! Thanks for watching Lewis 👍
What a great video. They are both really dinky and the Romahome is a particularly well-made monocoque. The biggest problem with either is that they cost similar money (when new) and are a similar size to the budget end of 5.4m Boxer/Relay/Ducato campers. They tend to drive better, have more robust bodies ...... although may not be as well insulated.
Interested in your views.....
I like the Nu Venture. When you're in the cold and rain it's nice to have head height. The removable table is much more practical than a fixed dinette, though more belted seats would be more practical.
Totally agree!👍
Roma home, 4belts! Love the loo in the nuventure but Roma home is more dual purpose. Also prefer the upholstery - looks more modern even though it’s older.
I couldn't 'holiday' in this size van but if I had to choose it would be the Nu Venture for me.
The Roma has only the seat belts as a possible plus. As for types of use, the Nu Venture allows short and longer breaks, so a no brainer on that one. We use lap trays so a dinnette isn't an issue. The sliding bed frame in the Nu is so much neater than getting slats out. That's my two peneth!
Great comment and points 👍
Romahome hands down. It just looks so cute.
love them both but for me its the little one. drive it around like a car. easier to park and keep on the drive. thanks for the videos
Our Pleasure Eli 😃
I think it's personal preference, I like the profile of the romahome and the dinette but I don't like the interior style. The ventura has a bigger profile giving more head space (I'm 6'1) but also a dedicated toilet and the double bed set up looks easier and more comfortable and the finish looks nicer.
These are really good films and presenter I just spent one and a half viewing so I know a little bit about the subject. I don't have a private drive so I'm looking for a campervan because I'm motorhome will be too big and vunrable to stand at the side of the house and use as an everyday vehicle so it's getting the best combination. I want maximum comfort for two on holidays but to also for
everyday use at home. So that is my quest with the help of this chap I will obtain it. Keep up the good work MHM ☺️
New venture every time , lov your vlogs , your a proper action man , lol
Thanks 👍 Tim
Nu Venture for me because of the toilet. Lack of shower is a problem, but you'd get over that. Great video!
Good call!👍
Romahome for me. As a solo traveller, I only need a single bed and the lack of toilet compartment isn't a problem. I also prefer the look of the Romahome.
Great choice Sylvestra 👍
I went to the nu venture place to have a look at one. Staff were rude. They reluctantly showed me one, and I thought the workmanship was poor. The seat backs had velcro stapled on to them that looked like it had been done by a 5 year old £44,000? No thanks.
Thats not good to hear Elise
Both are lovely. Nu Venture looks perfect on me.
Good choice! Irwing 👍
Mate im so glad you're making this content, is there a yard or anything to buy from thats good?
Really enjoyed this comparison video. Prefer Romahome seating, 4 seat belts and deco but enclosed toilet in the NU is a plus. Can’t get the best of both world.
Glad you enjoyed it! P L 👍
My New venture came with van steadies as well but I never use them. Two of use stayed in it for 47 consecutive nights and provided my wife kept her mouth shut it was fine.
😂 John 👍
Just bought a Nu Venture Surf 2009 today it has the dinning table and the two seats and a rear door so I think for me and my two dogs we will be fine and if I decide to cross the channel not stepping out to meet traffic is plus
The Roma home I would prefer and thanks for sharing
Good choice! Thanks for watching 👍
I my mind there's no comparison. The Nu Venture wins it hands down. Sooo much more storage, toilet, ability to put up a table, looks so much nicer. Bed easier to make up,with less cushions used, which makes for a more comfortable bed.
👍
It cracks me up that he is learning about the vehicles out loud as he does it.
😂
For us it would be the Romahome. Versatile daily drive and if we could spend a month touring the wilds of Shetland, Orkney and NW Scotland in a standard citreon berlingo multispace, fitted with a camper unit. Then it would be a massive upgrade for us.🙂🐕🚙
👍
We'd prefer the Nu Venture Camper, for lots of reasons.
1. Bed can be left made up if weather is really good outside, most jobs can be done outside, like cooking etc
👍
Nu Venture simply for the toilet facility. Another similar style would be the Nu Venture Rio S/D or R/D because those both have a shower too. Also you can choose to have a dinette or two bench seats, personally I’d go for the dinette as I’d be using it alone. Thanks for the comparison. 👍
👍 Louise
both are nice, but deff the Nu venture , because the habitation is on the side which makes parking easier, when reversing in, plus more strorage and proper toilet cubicle. Perfect for a road trip :)
Fair enough! Sarah 👍
Good video as always, I would prefer the Venture Nu home, like kitchen and toilet area better , shame no hot water but there are 4 gas burners to boil some up. Stay safe guys, Ray Gosport UK.
Good points and great comment 👍 Ray
Some of these Nu Ventures have Hot water sadly this one doesnt.
Check out the Nu Venture Rio
The Nu Venture wins my vote, I already have a camper/MPV and it multi tasks but If I wanted a change the Nu Venture would be on my Radar. Great video, Well Done.
Thank you G 👍
If you are limited on height to your parking space then the roamerhome would do but I'd preger the full height camper, especially with a loo.
The washroom in the Nu Venture is just about big enough for them to have included a shower, shame they didn't. I had a little Autocruise Vista, just 4.8m long but it had the lot, toilet, shower, 4 burner hob, grill and oven, Truma heating and hot and cold water. On a Peugeot Boxer with almost a tonne of payload. I do like these compact motorhomes, making up the bed does become a bit of a chore on a long trip but they are perfect for weekends and the odd week away. Thanks for the video!
we had the vista about 2010 great motorhome but only 35 to the gallon and not good for round town and to work.
the surf on the other hand is just like driving a car and averaging 48 mpg, it can come with a hot and cold shower they are made to order and theres an amazing choice of fabrics for cushions. oh lord i sound like a salesman.unless you need something biggger the nu-venture offerings are unbeatable
it is easy to install a paddling pool and shower. The problem is the larger water container
I prefer Nu Venture
Very difficult to say but the Roma -home just gets it with the van steadies You can always have a tent loo so smells are outside the van .
Good point there Ian 👍
The toilet compartment in the Nuventure swings it for me.
Got to have a good loo Paul 😃
Nu Venture👍🏽,sin duda.
Gracias.
Buena elección👍
I would defenitely chose the Nu Venture due to the closed bathroom.
The big one I prefer
If driving in high side winds in winter I know what I'd rather have! Romahome for sure
You and me both!
I loved the model with bathroom.
👍
Hi great video keep up the good work
Can you tell me if you can get the nu venture with more belted seats?
Hi David, im not sure on the seat belts sorry 😐
Somewhat surprised you don’t remove your boots, especially when making up the double bed.
Maybe we are not supposed to see that part?
Hi new to the channel, watched a few vids, but you never seem to say the price?? So would be good to know. Nu venture for me though.
The Nu Venture as it is the closest to a motor home but the romehome is ok for a few hours with the kids my preference is Nu Venture but i would buy two belted motorhome with hot water shower
Good points Tom 👍
the nu venture although as im from the usa either is an option although i love one i daily drive it
Roma home for me as ideal size for photography trips and probably a lot easier to find parking. Toilet no issue as I would be in my own.
👍 Andy
As usual, brilliant, informative and entertaining Video. Which one? The Romahome.
Thank's Jim
Thanks for the video, very good one! I would take the Venture because its more spaciuos and the toilet is so easy accessible. Since i like to be on the road for weeks it would be perfect, just a pity its not availible in Sweden.
😐
Now Jason I'm not saying that the nu venture is unstable but if it was just me without my dog or cat I'd plump for the romahome purely because in the past with me driving doubl decker coaches and high sided wagons I've had my fare share of cross wind scares
Roma home is my pick. Thanks for the great video!
Thank you for watching Kathe 👍
My dream is the romahome it is on my list
Hope you get one Vanessa 👍
Excellent advice, excellent demo! Thanks!
👍
Neither is available stateside, which is why so many people here buy cargo vans and spend months turning them into living quarters. Both these vehicles could be improved with one piece foldable mattresses, however. My hip hurts just looking at the multiple crevasses.
Nu Venture. More space, storage & height. I prefer the Rio Sand or Surf which has a dinette.
😃
I've got a 2006 Romahome ,but thanks for showing the difference as been thinking about updating to maybe a Nu venture, or Peugeot symphony auto sleeper, 😉👍
No problem Carol 👍😀
Romahome 4 seatbelts, and that toilet looks tiny in the nu venture plus the disel heating system in the Romahome, you can always plug an electric heater in on the 230 plus no hunting for gas bottles!!!
Good point there Sue 👍
Medidas idoneas, menos de 5mts. Busco p/ Argentina, con volante lado izquierdo
As someone who i new to these, a great review, decissions, decissions
Thank you Alan 👍
Nu Venture for me.
Both good though.
Appreciate all your videos and insights as Intel you have an honest warts and all approach.
I appreciate that! Thank you Stephen 👍
Roma for me :)
I like Roman home still go to the baths for a body wash and small porta potty have a shave in the sink jobs a good one and the deisel heater is a god send on low there so good just set it on the low setting it's so warm good stuff I want it
It is great Graham 👍
I have a nu-venture an older one based on a fiat scudo, this means we have the table like the romahome and also as its longer, dont have the hassle of extra bits in the cab, 6 feet bed means theres lot of room. The toilet is a game change but what gets it for me is the extra storage. I would really struggle without the overhead cabinets down the sides. Where do you pt stuff in the romahome. Think the romahome looks better but its compromised with lack of space inside.
Nu Venture with a shower option perhaps - great videos - luv em :O)
That would be cool! Thank you Gez 👍
I am always surprised that four belted seats aren’t standard.
Love both of them but for me the NU is better the small bathroom/shower does it for me
Awesome video
Thanks The Tatoo Gardener 😃
I think Nu Venture is more practical, multifunctional. But Romahome have better outside appearance. My choice is Nu Venture.
👍
Romahome - neat, easy
👍
Romahome prefer the seating area although do like the Nuventure toilet!
👍
Roma home for me xxx
👍
I do like the Romahome R20 as it may fit my gate entrance, I would need to know how wide measurements are in mm is the campervan body is and the length in mm too. Excluding the wing mirrors, as I could fold them in. Hope you not mind me asking.
caravansandcampersltd.co.uk
I love the toilet in nu venture.
Me too Lorraine 👍
I like the dinette on the Romahome, but never been a fan of the kitchen area. The Nu Venture is a winner for the kitchen and toilet.
I cant see why the Nu Adventure couldn't have a flip out type (click clack) arrangement for the double bed, similar to some sofa beds.
Overall the New Venture being higher is maximising space available for the same length of vehicle allowing for greater storage space and more comfortably accommodating a wider percentage of people height wise, pity the over cab isn't a bed, many sleep in fetal position anyway, might take the weight of a child though.
New venture hands down for me
I love the small one
Good choice Bill 👍
Both top notch
It sure is Balli 👍
Definitely the Nu Venture. You need a toilet if you don't want to get into trouble :)
😂👍
The one with a toilet.
They both have toilets
Nice break down thanks
No problem! Kevin 👍
Yeah, has to be the New Venture with the little bathroom and the nice kitchen space.
I love it! Mike 👍
The nu venture, good small van for a long weekend off.
Too right Mark 👍
In Romahome I could fit ebike inside a lot easier. Also averal inside design seems to be more convenient.
👍 Rafal
In this compact camper class, how about Ronin XL Motorhome?
similar dimension, small kitchen, small restroom, but 2+2 bed, two more bed than Romahome or Nu Venture.
👍
Both beautiful vans but the venture seems like your head would go past the curtains when asleep lol so head would be in the cab area
Romahome all the way for me
I like the Romahome I wish I could have one !
One day Tom
I would love either one of these. I do however, find them overpriced!
Two nice vans Patrick
What kind off campervan would you advised in someone just past there driving test and looking a campervan /van
So Mr Motrome Man are they Campervans OR Motromes? how does one distinguish this? I always thought Coachbuilts were called Mortromes and panel van conversions on the fixed van were called Campervans am I wrong? So a Romahome and a NuVenture obviously being Coachbuilt should be known as a Motrome surely?
For Me I think I would go for the NuVenture only problem is according to Nu Venture and Small Motorhome Forums Nu Venture at the factory did some dodgy wiring when fitting the Fridge so that could be a worry a potential Fire Hazard so wiring may need a good check B4 you sell the N Venture maybe?
atb Mike SkegVegas
think i prefer the roma home i shall be looking at changing my caravan for a motorhome
Good choice Lee 👍
