Here's an over-simplification AoE rotation if some of you didn't get it: --------------------------------------- 1) Whenever you're in Stealth or during Shadow Dance, your Garrotes and Ruptures apply to 2 additional targets, and for the next 10 seconds after you've come out of Stealth. So for example: - If you use Garrote from Stealth/Shadow Dance, it will be applied on your current target PLUS 2 others near that primary target. You press it again, it applies on ANOTHER 2 targets. Same with Rupture. In AoE packs you want to use Garrote/Rupture from either Stealth or Shadow Dance as much as possible. - If you're fighting 3-4 mobs in a pack, I think it's enough (could be wrong, I've picked Assa recently as well) to use Garrote and Rupture during your opener only once (so applied on 3 targets). Rinse and repeat. 2) After that, you want to use Mutilate once every 10 seconds to maintain a debuff on your main target called "Caustic Splatter". Caustic Spatter causes 30% of your single-target Poison damage dealt on that mob to splash onto OTHER nearby enemies as well, reduced beyond 5 targets. 3) Spam Fan of Knives to generate Combo Points 4) Use Envenom on your main target to maintain the debuff 5) Your burst! Use in this order immediately after your first Envenom: - Deathmark - Shiv - Shadow Dance - Kingsbane Here you want to get as many Eviscerates as you can Also since you're using Shadow Dance here, it is a good opportunity to refresh your Garrote and Rupture on all your targets, since they're AoE now. 6) Use Fan of Knives as much as you can in AoE to generate Combo Points, and use them to maintain your Crimson Tempest bleed on all mobs Rinse and repeat. --------------------------------------- Priorities (besides the Burst window): 1) Garrote and Rupture on your target are your highest priority (besides Slice and Dice) 2) Second priority is maintaining the Caustic Splatter debuff from your Mutilate 3) Third and last priority should be your Crimson Tempest. You just maintain dots - at least a few ruptures for scent of blood and keep ct up full time, keep garrote on main target full time, and keep caustic up full time. Then when KB comes back up you just repeat the KB opener portion

Bro, I am going crazy, My gear obviously isnt as good as yours im at Ilvl 436 no tier pieces but I cannot spike my damage up like you do and I am doing the rotation perfectly. I dont understand. I am not using battle potions but would it make that significant difference? I am capping at 110k ST with my cooldowns. It doesn't ever spike just stays around 110k then goes down slowly. 9:29 you spike up to 900k dps. I am just wondering what happens right then for that spike. It wasn't an envenom or Kingsbane. It was right after you Vanished it spiked then you garroted then it spiked. Then a second after your kingsbane popped. 11:33 on your Aoe rotation you spike again to 7mil around the same time as your ST rotation right before kingsbane ends.
thats just details resetting from vanish - in reality on ST i sit around 500-600k on the opener and then fizzle down to 350-400k for the next minute or so after. but if youre not getting anywhere near that proportionally, youre probably missing something

assa is uncapped, outlaw is capped, but assa does have some energy eco issues in m+ right now - i think ill have a better idea once i get the new tier sets and try things out again. for now i think both specs are good with their own list of pros and cons and both are definitely playable in m+ and raid
Im IL440, and im having trouble breaking 200k+ damage. Im feel as im doing exactly what youre doing, but im confused on how you manage to scale to 1mil dps when im barely able to scale to 200k. Any advice?
make sure you have 100% uptime on your envenom and shiv during kb + make sure you have tea is running during the final 6 seconds of KB as well and that you vanish with 3 seconds left on kb for the extra crit chance. just keep practicing
what? they are the highest simming builds for assa st and aoe - there is an arterial cleave build that i have posted on my discord as well which works well in fort keys
How are you approaching reapplying dots on extended trash of like 4-6? After cd and initial dots fall off. Are you making sure to rupture/garrote all 4-5 rat cycle?
usually dont have to - things are dead by then. id need garrote on main target and make sure at least 4 ruptures are up for scent of blood, but i havent been in a situation like that even in +20s this week
Hi Churpie, shouldn't be better on Shadow Dance do Envenom Rupture Envenom? The way you do it in the video rupture doesn't snapshot from SD since you casy it before it ends
No, we get more damage from envenoming there and refreshing rupture during subterfuge from dance later. Its very very minor though like SUPER minor so do whichever one you prefer. Rupturing will lead to more KB dmg, envenoming leads to more envenom damage. It equalizes itself out more or less though. Envenoming is slightly better by 0.5% overall
That ability you are pressing 3rd in your ST rotation, what is it? I don't see that icon anywhere in my spell book or on my skill tree. (the one that looks like a scroll with a burn circle on it surrounding a dark pattern) / Oh and also what is the macro for your kingsbane + shadow dance ? Love the vid btw
how do you play in between cds, are you doing ST rotation into one mob or are you getting garrote/rupture on as many targets as possible and then crimson tempest filler?
keep a few ruptures up once the improved ones expire for scent of blood, keep CT up, keep everything else up on main target at all times. use indiscriminate carnage from dance or vanish to refresh all your improved garrotes and ruptures. in reality, packs wont live this long. this is only relevant if packs are living more than a minute long. most of the time packs take around 30 sec so you dont really need to worry about off time too much unless youre chain pulling. thats when you'd do all this little maintenance dotting

Is it not necessary for the opener to do the finishers with minimum 5 combo points as in the video you do it with 4? is it better to aply every finisher as fast as possible and mark for death or should you try to get 5 cp instead?
When you are in m+ or raid with adds and have no way to restealth, isnt it more worth it to keep vanish to refresh into full improved garrote? Maybe to lose some burst from last 3 seconds of kingsbane, but gain more uptime of improved garrote
its situational. ideally you would sync it every time for max burst, but sometimes you gotta do things in m+ that arent optimal. vanishing for certain things included - sometimes you might need to vanish to silence mobs that are about to get a cast off. it isnt optimal, but its something you can do for sure
Thanks for the rotation guide it was super clear. Are you generally waiting for deathmark to be up for your kingsbane windows or do you just use deathmark every other kingsbane window since the cooldown is 2 mins vs 1 min for Kingsbane
hard to say. the ST is really good and its a high value PI target so it's likely, but both specs are still really strong. if your guild runs 2x rogues but only has 1 pi it wouldnt be outlandish to say 1 assa and 1 outlaw is viable.
lol i didn't design the spec sorry =/ but once you learnt he opener, the entire rotation is just opener->maintenance->opener again and repeat. i havent spent much time on sub yet so i dont really know how it compares at the moment lol

there is an aoe build that you can use that is ALL st based, you just swap out internal bleeding for caustic spatter. the aoe will be less, but it is a simpler version of AoE that still does decent aoe while doing big ST
I was looking about sudden demise, in mythic high stone they damage decrease for % of hp mob, in reforc week we can lose so much damage cos we can't blow up the mob in 35% of life with our bleeds, like do You Say st rotation is more easly than aoe rotation but i think in high lvl keys we Will play st rotation, thanks for support
@Denaydreams i actually deleted a pack from 30% to dead in a +24 freehold with sudden demise yesterday. It can get good value but you really need to execute the cds and rotation properly to get big value out of it. You'll def see it hit bigger in lower keys cuz mobs have less hp but its still a good talent for sure to use

i have SD+KB macrod and deathmark+battle potion (even though this isnt optimal, its just easier for me and is like 0.1% difference compared to the optimal timing) , and i have bomb dispenser macrod onto mutilate
yeah you can - its a small optimization since youre applying rupture again in a few globals during your next window as well which will also extend rupture to max length at empowered strength anyways - it's not going to make or break the pull for you if you do either version

It's hard at first. I practiced for many many hours before making this video for you guys - it takes practice if you wanna do big sam, but once you get it and understand it, it becomes much simpler. Just keep practicing!!
I'm new to assa rogue, my question is on the aoe rotation...do you tab target when doing multiple garrotes because sometimes I tab target and the target already has a garrote and I need to tab target like 2-3 times before I get one that is new. Also I see in your video that you apply 2 garrotes is that the optimum number? Thanks
@@ChurpieTv Hello i got the same question but i dont get your answer here. on that 5 target dummie fight yes its enough because 2 times garrot would apply 5 in total. But if we have 6 target we would still only apply 5. if we would targetswap to someting which has no garrot on it alrdy we could apply 6. So basicly with a large target count without chaning target we start with 3, and then add 2 everytime we apply garrot -> 3-5-7-9, instead of switching and get 3-6-9-12. So i am new to assassination so what do i know but on paper i wonder why we dont spread our dots first? Too time consuming even if we go higher keys? Its weird that noone even mentions this (read/watched other guides aswell). One thing i can imagine is the scent of blood talent which u mentioned in some other comments. so 5 ruptures = max 20% agi bonus, so that may be why 5 dotted targets are enough for the aoe rotation even if we go high target pulls like 10+ mobs?
@fkbf161 you are thinking way too hard about this. When you have improved bleed windows in big packs, get your buffed garrotes and 5 ruptures out, ct, and then envenom the target u put cs on.
Is there a reason why you deathmark before SD+KB? Wouldn't deathmark also get the 10% stealth snapshot and KB get the buffs from deathmark doubling dots?

i think i just explained this one a lot slower and more concisely since it does go slower than outlaw by many many APM. outlaw is more reactionary, assa is a rotation thats closer to being set in stone. some people will find memorizing an open like assa's to be harder, and some people will find outlaw easier since they dont have to memorize much at all.
What's even weirder is claiming to be smarter than a guy that allegedly cant read yet going to his videos to learn how to play a video game that you couldn't figure out yourself with your big boy reading skills

in a perfect simulation setting, yes you will pair vanish with the KB you use during DM. however, sometimes you may need to vanish for other reasons such as silencing enemies that are about to wipe you, or dropping aggro in a pinch or cancelling a mechanic. it is a dps loss, but dying is more of a dps loss. maintain all dots on main target at all times and caustic spatter, rupture on at least 3/4 targets for scent of blood buff, crimson tempest full uptime after the opener as well. youre just playing a minigame of maintain as many dots as possible between cd windows, then you get to dance again and use indiscriminate carnage to get your empowered bleeds on everything while only targeting your main target again
@@TheCunka1302 Dwarf is really good for M+, I personally like it. You can "dwarf" alot of debuffs. Can even take off multiple abilities at once, reduces damage taken aswell. min/maxing is just dmg.

It's a built in habit that ive had for years from doing r1 m+ keys where u need to constantly be on your toes and 1 mistake or misstep is death

Builds like this are the reason rogues dont get invited to M+. The output is way to low.

the spells pressed isnt quite the same as what is talked about on the video when going into detail of the bursts
that's not "snapshotting" that's just what the skill dose.....

How are you approaching reapplying dots on extended trash of like 4-6? After cd and initial dots fall off. Are you making sure to rupture/garrote all 4-5 rat cycle?
usually dont have to - things are dead by then. id need garrote on main target and make sure at least 4 ruptures are up for scent of blood, but i havent been in a situation like that even in +20s this week

Hi Churpie, shouldn't be better on Shadow Dance do Envenom Rupture Envenom? The way you do it in the video rupture doesn't snapshot from SD since you casy it before it ends
No, we get more damage from envenoming there and refreshing rupture during subterfuge from dance later. Its very very minor though like SUPER minor so do whichever one you prefer. Rupturing will lead to more KB dmg, envenoming leads to more envenom damage. It equalizes itself out more or less though. Envenoming is slightly better by 0.5% overall
That ability you are pressing 3rd in your ST rotation, what is it? I don't see that icon anywhere in my spell book or on my skill tree. (the one that looks like a scroll with a burn circle on it surrounding a dark pattern) / Oh and also what is the macro for your kingsbane + shadow dance ? Love the vid btw

how do you play in between cds, are you doing ST rotation into one mob or are you getting garrote/rupture on as many targets as possible and then crimson tempest filler?
keep a few ruptures up once the improved ones expire for scent of blood, keep CT up, keep everything else up on main target at all times. use indiscriminate carnage from dance or vanish to refresh all your improved garrotes and ruptures. in reality, packs wont live this long. this is only relevant if packs are living more than a minute long. most of the time packs take around 30 sec so you dont really need to worry about off time too much unless youre chain pulling. thats when you'd do all this little maintenance dotting

When you are in m+ or raid with adds and have no way to restealth, isnt it more worth it to keep vanish to refresh into full improved garrote? Maybe to lose some burst from last 3 seconds of kingsbane, but gain more uptime of improved garrote
its situational. ideally you would sync it every time for max burst, but sometimes you gotta do things in m+ that arent optimal. vanishing for certain things included - sometimes you might need to vanish to silence mobs that are about to get a cast off. it isnt optimal, but its something you can do for sure
you can use shadowdance. 45sec CD vs 2min. both will give you empowered garrote and rupture.
Thanks for the rotation guide it was super clear. Are you generally waiting for deathmark to be up for your kingsbane windows or do you just use deathmark every other kingsbane window since the cooldown is 2 mins vs 1 min for Kingsbane
use KB on cd - it will auto sync up with every other DM you do

hard to say. the ST is really good and its a high value PI target so it's likely, but both specs are still really strong. if your guild runs 2x rogues but only has 1 pi it wouldnt be outlandish to say 1 assa and 1 outlaw is viable.

lol i didn't design the spec sorry =/ but once you learnt he opener, the entire rotation is just opener->maintenance->opener again and repeat. i havent spent much time on sub yet so i dont really know how it compares at the moment lol

there is an aoe build that you can use that is ALL st based, you just swap out internal bleeding for caustic spatter. the aoe will be less, but it is a simpler version of AoE that still does decent aoe while doing big ST
I was looking about sudden demise, in mythic high stone they damage decrease for % of hp mob, in reforc week we can lose so much damage cos we can't blow up the mob in 35% of life with our bleeds, like do You Say st rotation is more easly than aoe rotation but i think in high lvl keys we Will play st rotation, thanks for support
@Denaydreams i actually deleted a pack from 30% to dead in a +24 freehold with sudden demise yesterday. It can get good value but you really need to execute the cds and rotation properly to get big value out of it. You'll def see it hit bigger in lower keys cuz mobs have less hp but its still a good talent for sure to use

i have SD+KB macrod and deathmark+battle potion (even though this isnt optimal, its just easier for me and is like 0.1% difference compared to the optimal timing) , and i have bomb dispenser macrod onto mutilate

yeah you can - its a small optimization since youre applying rupture again in a few globals during your next window as well which will also extend rupture to max length at empowered strength anyways - it's not going to make or break the pull for you if you do either version

Whenever you're in Stealth or during Shadow Dance, your Garrotes and Ruptures apply to 2 additional targets, and for the next 10 seconds after you've come out of Stealth. So for example:
If you use Garrote from Stealth/Shadow Dance, it will be applied on your current target PLUS 2 others near that primary target. You press it again, it applies on ANOTHER 2 targets.
Same with Rupture. In AoE packs you want to use Garrote/Rupture from either Stealth or Shadow Dance as much as possible.
If you're fighting 3-4 mobs in a pack, I think it's enough (could be wrong, I've picked Assa recently as well) to use Garrote and Rupture during your opener only once (so applied on 3 targets).
Rinse and repeat.
assasination can actually do more damage than outlaw in AoE ?
assa is soft capped and outlaw is hard capped. the more targets there are, the more assa will do comparatively

We dont play bonespike right now. If you want to play it anyways i would use it after 1st rupture then just use to make sure youre never full stacks
I'm new to assa rogue, my question is on the aoe rotation...do you tab target when doing multiple garrotes because sometimes I tab target and the target already has a garrote and I need to tab target like 2-3 times before I get one that is new. Also I see in your video that you apply 2 garrotes is that the optimum number? Thanks

But if we have 6 target we would still only apply 5. if we would targetswap to someting which has no garrot on it alrdy we could apply 6. So basicly with a large target count without chaning target we start with 3, and then add 2 everytime we apply garrot -> 3-5-7-9, instead of switching and get 3-6-9-12.
So i am new to assassination so what do i know but on paper i wonder why we dont spread our dots first? Too time consuming even if we go higher keys? Its weird that noone even mentions this (read/watched other guides aswell). One thing i can imagine is the scent of blood talent which u mentioned in some other comments. so 5 ruptures = max 20% agi bonus, so that may be why 5 dotted targets are enough for the aoe rotation even if we go high target pulls like 10+ mobs?
@fkbf161 you are thinking way too hard about this. When you have improved bleed windows in big packs, get your buffed garrotes and 5 ruptures out, ct, and then envenom the target u put cs on.

theres not enough time to dm during sb+kb and also get in everything else you need to snapshot. i assume thats why the sims say to do it beforehand
MY BAD found a better reason. KB counts as a lethal poison so lethal poisons are duplicated by DM so dm first.

i think i just explained this one a lot slower and more concisely since it does go slower than outlaw by many many APM. outlaw is more reactionary, assa is a rotation thats closer to being set in stone. some people will find memorizing an open like assa's to be harder, and some people will find outlaw easier since they dont have to memorize much at all.

When do i want to prioritize spreading ruptures for scent of blood over Caustic Spatter? I feel like i am constantly behind on ruptures / crimson tempest / garrotes / energy and never get to envenom, if no dance or vanish is up
When u dont have the buff up, or when it will drop, reapply ruptures to other targets but never let caustic drop ever
Use carnage windows to spread garrotes on other targets. Keep ct up full time. Worry about ur main target forst then worry about off targets
Great guide! Maybe I missed it but what are the priorities in terms of skills when outside of the opener? Do I always want to make sure I have invis for kingsbane?
in a perfect simulation setting, yes you will pair vanish with the KB you use during DM. however, sometimes you may need to vanish for other reasons such as silencing enemies that are about to wipe you, or dropping aggro in a pinch or cancelling a mechanic. it is a dps loss, but dying is more of a dps loss.
maintain all dots on main target at all times and caustic spatter, rupture on at least 3/4 targets for scent of blood buff, crimson tempest full uptime after the opener as well. youre just playing a minigame of maintain as many dots as possible between cd windows, then you get to dance again and use indiscriminate carnage to get your empowered bleeds on everything while only targeting your main target again

@@TheCunka1302 Dwarf is really good for M+, I personally like it. You can "dwarf" alot of debuffs. Can even take off multiple abilities at once, reduces damage taken aswell. min/maxing is just dmg.
