Finallly!!! a video of someone cutting wood that we cut. New England hardwood. Pleasure to watch the smoothness of taking them apart. I just purchased a used 6000. I'm told a lot of operators choose to not use the top knife controller to run the knife close function. Do you run that manually or is it on auto close?
I’ve been running a 1996 Rottne RK 81 with the EGS-600 for 13 years. Looking forward to this new (to me) LogMax 6000 on a Rottne SMV RK 200 crane. Mixed hardwood and softwood.
Same here! I know im like 6 years late, but this dude knows how to run a harvester, this head makes him look that much cooler! Im in pa, and looking for my first harvester, im in pa and so far i think a tigercat LH something for steep slopes, cap tilt etc… AND this head!, now im creeping richards videos lol 🤷♂️
Now you are an operator! Love the way you control the tree, precise cuts and take care of the machine all at the same time. Keep up the good work!
Brings wall-e to mind! ;)
I'm impressed with your skills. You don't mess around!
ceejay960 Thanks.

Are the advantages of a top saw not worth the cost.?
Maybe if we cut hardwood all the time. I never ran a head with a top saw.
Do you préfère the 6000 or 7000?
rottnesmv I like the 7000 it's noce for the type of wood we cut.
I'm impressed with your skills but why you don't chipped so bad trees?
Martin . . . Thanks . There is no chipping done in this area everything goes to mill cut to length.
Is that a 7000C?, seems quite strong.
Yes it is.
Ok,alot of your vids were a 6000B so I was curious. Hows the length and diameter accuracy? You running the newer 500 computer?
upgraded to the 7000 last summer. ya it's log mate 500 . never have lenghts and diameters are very accurate.
