- President Biden delivered remarks Tuesday at Everytown for Gun Safety's annual training conference, Gun Sense University, hours after a jury found his son Hunter Biden guilty on all three counts he faced in his federal gun possession trial. The charges stemmed from Hunter Biden's purchase and possession of a gun while he was addicted to crack cocaine.

Judging by the crime stat data and not by unsupported allegations, crime is down. Though, you'll hear the opposite from certain right wing media.
Well we are seeing it for ourselves, crime is not down. Lies, just like he says he was a professor at a college and taught constitutional law, he did not. He lies constantly - multiple videos out there showing him blatantly lying.

With regard to his professor claim, he served as a professor of practice at the University of Pennsylvania starting in 2017. His duties went on for about two years instead of four because he went on unpaid leave in 2019 to run for president. Biden’s role involved panel discussions and other public appearances, but not classroom teaching. So, there is merit to his claim, but like all politicians do, the claim is embelished. This story is not new.

Imagine having the audacity to thank someone for wanting gun safety and a safer neighborhood while you opened the boarders to anyone and everyone. Talk about delusional behavior.
Imagine having the most tough legislation on border security in the past three decades and because Trump didn't want to give Biden the credit he told the house not to vote on a bill that would have passed easily. This legislation would have added increased security to the border which Biden has already done, as well as increased the number of judges and social workers process people seeking asylum in a 6-month period instead of a 6 year. It would have also allowed for him to shut down the border after a certain number of people had crossed whether it was for asylum or not which is the executive order he just implemented. Honestly, a lot of the legislation for immigration was just the same as Trump he just didn't separate children from their parents. Trump had title 42 to rely on, because of the pandemic which created a number of people waiting to cross the border at the appropriate time. I don't think they handled the crisis appropriately, but percentage-wise Biden has sent back more people than Trump ever did. Just like during the pandemic because Trump had a national lockdown so people weren't leaving their houses, gas prices were low. I bet you didn't even know that Biden created a pilot program for immigration where they were allowed to enter on a two-year probationary period if they had a sponsor. It proves that people are coming here because they want to be with family, as this program does not allow the migrant to receive public benefits in any form, whether it be housing, healthcare, food etc. also a lot of the people seeking asylum here are here because our policies and our interfering destabilized their own country. Can you imagine living in a country where the US meddles and creates instability, and because of the dangers of staying in your own country because of their involvement you have to leave your country only to be denied entry into the country that is responsible for up turning your life.
It's unfortunate that Trump felt that he needed to run on the crisis at the border for his campaign, and doesn't think about the American people who are struggling with resources who needed that legislation to pass to help address the crisis at the border. Even Biden told him that it's not about a win for him or for Trump it's about the American people and he begged Trump to tell the house to bring the vote up and they could say to the American people that they were able to do it together. So just so you know your quote on quote open border is now sending people back once it reaches a certain amount, and again they would have been able to process people much quicker, if Trump wasn't so selfish.
Especially when you're talking about the border gun safety is important. Where do you think all the cartels are getting their guns? That is especially one of the reasons why we need better background checks and ban on assault weapons. It is very easy for them to get their weapons in America, so when we complain about them we are actually the ones supplying them.

@@ClassicFIHD I was trying to reread where you got that from they must have taken down one of my comments. It was the most tough border security bill in the past three generations. I'm not talking about Biden's recent executive action, I was talking about the bill that speaker Mike Johnson decided not to bring to the floor because Trump told him not to. It might not have been to your liking, but it was mostly Republican policies, and it was indeed, yes, the toughest policies that Congress has tried to implement for the security of the border in generations. If you disagree with my assertion, please correct it. I'm sure you have read the entirety of the border bill that was drafted, what legislation

Most tough border bill was H.R.2, The Secure the Border Act of 2023 passed by the house on May 02, 2023 that is sitting on Schumer's desk. The bill you are talking about is a joke that allowed 5,000 illegals to enter per day and took powers away from states.

@@samuelschwammel5482 I disagree with that assessment. He's really old so a slur of the words and slow delivery is to be expected of people his age. However, I would note that he did not use a teleprompter during his SOTU speeches and he seemed fine in those. I think some of the criticisms are akin to making a mountain out of a mole hill.
I like how when the woman and the beginning was yelling about the genocide in Palestine and people started booing her, that he tried to quiet the audience to say that she had every right to say that and that a lot of children are dying unnecessarily. I think he would have said more but he kept being cut off by the audience. I know that this man is not the best orator, but it is amazing that he has been able to overcome his stutter, and it is amazing to me that this race is even close when Biden has passed more legislation to help everyday Americans than any president in recent history. I don't worship the man and I don't agree with him all the time, and I understand that many Americans are having a hard time economically because of the mess that Trump made while he was in office, and corporations taking advantage of the pandemic to raise prices when people wouldn't question it. People forget what a mess he inherited and just imagine how awful it would be right now if Trump had remained president.
