OpenIPC FPV is the cheapest digital FPV system in the world!
Thanks to the WFB-ng link it has some serious long range capabilities.

You will find everything you need to start your own project!🎉
The system supports MAVLINK bidirectional telemetry which makes it a complete solution for a quadcopter or fixed wing/VTOL. It also has WFB-ng link preinstalled and this means it has serious long range capabilities.(up to 100+km!)
More OpenIPC cameras will be in following videos so make sure you subscribe to not miss them!❤️

I maybe hallucinating but was there ever a 480p 165fps experimental mode ?, i remember back at the start of your vidoes on openIPC someone was talking about it ,did you guys decide to not bother with fleshing out the mode or is it available somewhere ?
It’s still available but the FOV is extremely low. Maybe a fisheye lens could help. We would also need 165Hz goggles. So you see that this mod is available today but for future applications. That’s the beauty of open source projects! Thank you for your support!😊🙏
Image quality looks fantastic! You guys ever looked into doing AV1 encoding over using HVEC? Supposedly is super efficient over previous standards (and open source!)
I’m not sure if our hardware supports AV1. Maybe a future OpenIPC camera will have AV1. It’s an open source project so nobody knows what will happen in the future. Cheers mate!😊🍻
AV1 is so new that everyones ground station would need those intel graphics cards to decode at the speeds FPV needs so its not quite feasible right now from a cost point of view , prehaps in a few years once the cost decreases enough they probably will switch though
I don't think there are cheap and small hardware encoders. Only the newest graphics cards have it so it will take some time for a good soc I think
Fantastic!!
Cheers mate!😊🍻
1920x1080 15mbits what mcs?
MCS4. Thank you for the support!😊🙏
Was the occasional stuttering during the last clip a recording issue or were you getting it in goggles as well?
I think it was from random WiFi interferences from nearby house WiFi networks. I’m flying in urban area with strong Virgin Media WiFi routers. Cheers mate!😊🍻
Is it just me, or is the image clearest at 1080p 60fps 15Mb?
I could see more details in my goggles with the 70fps mode even if I had only 8Mbps bitrate. However, when I tried 4Mbps bitrate everything started being blurry. I think the minimum bitrate should be 8Mbps for these high resolution modes. Cheers mate!😊🍻
It need full bitrate to apriciate new resolutions
I think with 8Mbps the live video stream has more details than the 1080p full bitrate. Cheers mate!😊🍻
What sensor and soc?
The full details are in the video description. IMX335 SSC338Q. Cheers mate!😊🍻
Impressive! Why do you have jello on all your demo videos? Is it 7' drone?
Yes and the frame sucks lol. I’m buying a new 7” frame because I tried everything and the jello is always present. Cheers mate!😊🍻
Jello oh 7' it's a common. Sometimes because of motors, not only frame
I heard Chimera7 has no jello. I have jello when I push up the throttle or when I lower the throttle to minimum. When I have it at around 30-40% there’s no jello. Any ideas?
Great to see your efforts and tests on OpenIPC / WFBng. Would be interested to see somday anything about power consumption esp. on long range 🙂
Cheers mate!😊🍻
Oh, nice! Whats the latency with that resolution?
Since I don’t do crazy freestyle(yet lol) I can confirm that it’s absolutely fine for an average fpv pilot. I was able to see more details on my goggles live stream. Cheers mate!😊🍻
Hi, it's possible to use a linux laptop as ground station? Nice Work!!
Yes Linux or Windows laptop is supported. Check out our wiki. Cheers mate!😊🍻
I loved it 👍
Thank you for all the support my friend!😊🙏
