I can't believe, I remember watching this as a kid and having NO IDEA what I was watching, only that it freaked me out. Now as an adult, I can fully appreciate just how satirical the humour really is :-)
I don't know whether it's ironic or incredibly fitting that Bruce Timm worked on this and then went onto make a serious batman cartoon Either way it gets a chuckle and I like both cartoons anyway
This show was Ralph Bakshi's Magnum Opus...despite losing all rationality and coherence in storytelling years ago with stuff like "Wizards", "Coonskin (Street Fight)", and "American Pop". This is thanks in no small part to John Kricfalusi, who experienced his own meltdown years later.
@wileyk209zback That's because it's the same person, Michael Pataki. In fact, this cartoon is how John Kricfalusi (Creator of Ren and Stimpy) met Michael and would later hire him to do the voice of George Liquor on Ren and Stimpy.
