My forman was the operator and I was the Locator. He wouldn't let me even sit on his drill. He went on vacation for 1 month and our Boss was desperate to get some bore shots done. He put me in the drill for 2 weeks and a month later after my foreman showed up our Boss had a D10x15 drill for me. It's honestly one of the easiest jobs I ever had, specially with a team that don't even let you dig and all I do is drill and locate.
You have no idea how hard it is to find content on this machinery. Would love an in depth tutorial on how to operate this and the locator. Thinking about buying a Ditch Witch JT10 but id need to be well versed on it before spending the $100k
I’d look into a Vermeer 8x12 if your looking for something super versatile the 20x22 is awesome can do damn near everything and isn’t overly big or destructive to yards or landscaping
Hey man is there any way you would be able to do a video going more into example on how to operate one of these? I’ve really been looking for videos but isn’t really much out there to help. Thanks!
I work with this exact same drill and those are all the controls i use and nothing more, shes a simple machine to run but hard to master Look likes your doing it for spectrum internet which is who i contract with for too My team is 3 guys and i may be the driller but i still still dig and even hook the pipe to the head for the pullback
Alright, now I know how to do this... what exactly am I doing? 😂🤣 ik I'm stupid. No clue what that drills. Some sort of pipe, im guessing. Looks kinda fun tbh.

Just switched from fiber side to UG in my company but I’m just a shovel operator right now 🤣
I’m going to be very honest being a driller is a very hard job I wouldn’t be so quick to say it’s the easiest.
I do kinda miss underground some days lol
Thanks bro just got a job doing this
Do they for any type of college degree?

What do you specifically want to know? Are you Thinking of a more step by step tutorial?
I'm an Operator as well.
Hey man, am trying to get in the business and want to finance one of these machines, but need to learn more about, do we need a degree or something?
@@CHIKIS479 No a degree isn’t needed. I believe the Vermeer offers an introductory operating course for their directional drills.
@@naturekid95240129ok I got i will check on Monday at the store
You know they come with pressure washers lol
You are prepared to work offshore as a driller now :)))
So you sit in a chair all day to Drill ? That sounds sweet . I bet you go through a lot of Helpers.
Now you just need a loader arm trigger and a rod lift button on the right stick 😅
It’s a hand loader 10x15
Is the middle button left stick the auto/cruise control?
Yes

Very helpful!!
10x15?
36 the hour man I'm missing out not only do I drive the thing around I can even operate it 25% production thou so idk
Alright, now I know how to do this... what exactly am I doing? 😂🤣 ik I'm stupid. No clue what that drills. Some sort of pipe, im guessing. Looks kinda fun tbh.
waw
enough grease man, i think you might have bp oil beat
Why you skip over cruise control?
It doesn’t have it.
If you run any drill manually all the time you will feel the ground conditions and get more production
whats the rod brake button do for a Horizontal directional drill
When your pulling out the rods, you have to disconnect the rods from each other, so that’s why it exists.
My gf does not needed a control stick, her mouth does all the controlling the stick.
This is dangerous 😂😂😂😂😂
Idk about 36 an hour
Clean your drill bro
We run a 6x6 and a 9x13, what are these fancy push buttons and safety features you speak of 🫠
😂😂 love the ol 6x6 and 7x11
