It wouldn’t be a Porsche video without me making a mistake. Clearly had my GT3 head on and was getting excited. Clearly not an NA. Missed that slip of the tongue in the edit. Oops 🙊
Porsche gave me a new 911 GTS for a weekend. Amazing car but almost too much power. Also felt some turbo lag, but didn’t use sports mode correctly. Back in my 718 Boxster thought it would feel step-down, but really doesn’t. 718 is a different ride, but so much fun. Possibly get a 911 convertible one day, but 911 and 718 are both superb and very individual cars. The 718 is great value for money as well.
I agree with you man. I own a 2.5L 718, and my girlfriend just got a 992 S. I don’t feel let down getting into my Cayman after driving around the 911. They are both phenomenal cars , and I’m honestly equally happy driving both
I drive a 2014 Racing Yellow 991.1, which had 9k miles when I bought it 2 years ago. I can honestly say that the naturally aspirated engine is just incredible. Your comment around how the car feels nice in the drivers seat is right on 👍.
Quite a few people who've ditched Caysters for 911s have said they miss the old car. The 911 is an icon, a legend, a statement that you've arrived. But I don't think there's anyone who can objectively say the 911 has the better driving dynamics
Went from 987 to 911.1GTS, beautiful car but just gone back to a 981 Boxster GTS and love it, it's such a best of both worlds car. KEEP THE BOXSTER PETE 🤩
I just purchased a 991.2 4 GTS and absolutely love it. I love how you couldn’t keep from breaking out into a huge smile after a few minutes of driving!
Great video! Having gone from a 991.2 C2S to a 718 Spyder in recent years, I couldn't help but miss the rear engined feel of the 911. Sure the 718 Spyder was epic and arguably the more exploitable on a back road, but the 911 felt that bit more special.. not to mention more usable if you have two small children... ps. I have a manual Carrera T on order which on paper could be viewed as a step backwards in outright pace, but that would be splitting hairs.
Quality work as ever. Refreshing and rare that someone is honest about budgetary restrictions, many a channel at least allows the impression that money is no object. I for one shall look forward to that 911 being on your driveway at some point in the none too distant future.
Wow that green 911 GTS looks beautiful and sounds the business too, something us average Joe's can only dream of owning lol, looks like u had a blast driving that one Mr petrol ped, must admit Porsches look great in green best colour for them I think 👌💪🏴
Great video - lovely to see the smile of your face when you open it up! I have a 718 Cayman which I love. This is all relevant to me as I have the same dilemma as you - my budget is limited too. Thank you.
Hey Ped from San Diego again. Love that Python Green 911 GTS and it reminds me of going into Pioneer Porsche in Denver in 1980 and seeing a brand new Python Green 911 Coupe in the showroom. Love at first sight! I bought my first Porsche two years later. It was a lightly used 1978 Guards Red 911SC Targa. Drove that car all over Colorado for several years and then from Denver to Tampa FL and finally out to San Diego. Never let me down once. I honestly think you're in the sweet spot with your beautiful Boxster GTS, especially given the price you paid. Hang on to it. Where else are you going to get that kind of top-down performance and style for that price any more?
I'm fortunate to have both a Boxster and a 992 GTS and there's no comparison. Have the gloss black aero kit and it looks fabulous. On the advice of friends and after driving several i went with PASM. Great Videos! I went back in time and used a few of yours to help me decide to make the move from a 997.2 C4S Cab to a 991.1 Turbo S Cab. I like your real life observations.... plus I also have a mini schnauzer to consider.....
Thanks for sharing another one of your very inclusive-style offerings Pete. Your channel is just the perfect destination for a Porsche enthusiast. Now in your shoes I would opt for a 991.2 GTS. Values had begun to drop as the 992 was introduced but through the past six months they have begun to firm up again. I wonder though if you would consider the Carrrera 4 GTS given our inclement weather, its all-round usability and near bulletproof handling. The Targa as you are aware is an all-wheel drive as is the Turbo. I love the 991.2 and visually, it offers a little more differentiation than the obviously very capable 992 series. Yes the 992 is doubtless a better car with a much updated interior. Porsche always sees to it that a successive generation is exactly what its meant to be but the 991.2 is an excellent machine. A car you that you can daily for many years to come. Perhaps even the one that is your forever 911. IMHO naturally. Look forward to your next vid. Stay safe!!
Agree, I'd definitely go with 911T, fairly light weighted, fast enough on public roads, and some unique features that you can’t even have on regular 911s; to be honest, if possible, I’d suggest to keep the 718 GTS and try to get the 911T, that will be a perfect combo to enjoy both of the NA and turbo engines; or at least, 718 4.0 GTS is something you shouldn’t sell it now, Bc it’s the last of its own, whereas 911 still gets some time to be fully electrified; anyways, as a owner of 718 4.0 GTS, I’m waiting for the 911T, and I’ll try best to keep both of them FOR EVER!
@@crazypaupau Agree. The packaging sweet spot in the range. Light (for a 911), sports exhaust and lowered suspension, 20/21 rims, and rear steer is available as a reasonable cost option. Power is plenty for a road car. It’s where I’d go.
Thanks for an awesome video again. I’ve just purchased a 2 yr old 911 992 C4S Cab in black and can’t wait to collect it on Saturday. I’ll attach a pic of our collection and maybe upload a small video when back home.
Hi Pete - my first Porsche was a 718 GTS 2.5 Coupe. Loved it but like you, I longed for a flat 6 992 CS. I’ve had the 992 for just over 2 years now and have just come back from a road trip to Lake Garda, via a Porsche Factory / Museum tour. They only build 250 cars a day for the world hence the wait and low depreciation. On the waiting list for a 992.1 Cab2S. Just hope to get my allocation before hybrid version released. It’s an amazing car. Although I have gone for the S again, the base is all you need for UK roads. Good luck with your search. Looking forward to your Goodwood films, especially as I won’t be there this time. Keep up the great content
Boxster Spyder is where it’s at…both 981 and 982 are truly special cars. Had a number of 911’s (still have a bland but loved 996 C2 cab) but the new 911 ‘s feel like my company hack. Great as a daily but no longer a special weekend car unless a GT# . Just my humble opinion.
Yet another great video Ped! The GTS version of the Cayman, Boxster and 911 have long been my choices in the ranges. Not having the spare cash for any Porsche, I usually play for one of those variants on BoTB when I can. I love minis too so we have similar tastes in cars generally!
Can certainly recommend a 991.2 Carrera T - residuals pretty solid, so will sit well with finance companies. i bought one a couple of months ago in manual with Lichfield tune and Sharkwerks exhaust. Bloody lovely thing
A great color and a cool car. Great video Sir Pete! I seen a white gt3 rs this last weekend it was amazing. Now I’m gonna think kermeit the frog drives a green Porsche lol
Cheers Pete. Just picked up a new 4 GTS Cab, same colour as you and Tracey took for the weekend a while back. Your vid convinced us on the sa.e colour and roof and cab! I think unless you want poverty spec you are 20 to 25k in extras. I optioned the delete -10mm for normal S suspension and it is fine on UK roads. Good luck hunting for possibly your next car.
We just swapped from a 718 GTS4.0 to a 911T sans back seats. Fitted out with dog harness and carpet protection, it’s perfect for us and Jess the Labrador 😀
Great review, as always. I first saw and fell in love with a 911 when I was 14 years old. Some 50 years later I am expecting a 992 GTS in September and I can't wait. I wimped-out on the centre-lock wheels for the reasons you mentioned and I was ultra cautious on the options because the prices are eye-watering. My only disappointment is that I can't specify my tyre preference - seemingly the guys in Zuffenhausen make that choice for you. The Michelin PS4's would be great and the P Zero's a close second but I really don't want the Goodyear Eagles and it seems wrong that buyers can't decide when options exist for the fabric used for the sun visors or other equally trivial items. When it finally arrives I hope it is as good as you and other UA-camrs tell me it is!
I’ve been running my GTS for 6 months on the Goodyears and I’ve been fairly happy with them. i think they are sensitive to exactly balancing the pressures across the axle especially at the back. I prefer them over the P Zero’s I had on a previous 991 CS. But I’d be really interested in the performance of the Michelins and like you I’d like to be able to choose tyres upfront.
I know I have previously commented here I am not a Porsche fan but I think you may have converted me. The sounds on downshift are simply awesome. I love my i-Pace for instant speed but I am thinking I miss the sounds of a car underneath me. Those seats would be a non negotiable for me whatever the cost. I will need to wait until my son has finished Uni and I don't need to pay for a flat for him before I can look at Autotrader again. I have been watching the live feed from Goodwood and I am still waiting for the commentary team to say "driven by Petrol Ped" but we have 2 days to come so I am waiting patiently.
i've got the carbon buckets in my 718 which is my only car, it is a bit annoying having to lift yourself up and out then at the shops but they feel so good when you decide to step on it. regular seats in other cars just don't feel right any more, like you're on the seat rather than in it.
Before you rush into a 991.2 GTS I had one and although very quick it did nothing for me I had rear steer and PDCC with PDK etc. I let it go and still dont miss it other than the looks. I had a 997 GTS manual GTS 2wd and preferred it. I would not have rws, PDCC or pdk again. If you really want a 911 then look very closely at the 991.1 GTS 2wd before you jump as its a more engaging at lower speed shall we say. I would say however I preferred my 981 spyder over both of them but it has its issues like the gearing and lazy engine tune amongst others.
Great stuff, I would love the same next. THink prices of second hand will go through the roof again as the new generation comes out. Anyway, you mentioned auto blip' but whilst I think I know what you mean I am not entirely sure and wondered if it is something I have on my Cayman 718 S PDK? I expect not as it's PDK but not really sure about such techincal things. It would be good to see you describing how to drive such cars, that is, the skill of using the gears correctly on a 'B' road, launch control, how to use the throttle (do you push stright to the metal) etc. etc. I always think I don't use mine to its full potential. Obviously speed limits need to be considered but it would be nioce just to know the basics of how to drive a Porsche to its full potential. Looking forward to the next video.
You have the same thing on your PDK. It’s also called ‘Rev Matching’. When you change down through the now the car blips the throttle as the clutch engages, change down the gear and not the engine is spinning at a faster speed matched to the speed of the gearbox. When the clutch disengages it’s now a smooth change. Manual shift auto box do this. In a manual car you can do this yourself by heel and toeing (braking and blipping the throttle with your right foot at the same time) or in some cars it is done for you with an auto blip feature. Meaning your right foot only has to brake. Hope that makes sense 👍
Pete I was in the same place as you in April. Was thinking 991.2 GTS as that’s what I though my budget could stretch to. However, as I was using finance for the purchase and the residuals were so much better on a 992, I ended up with a 3 year old 992 C2S with PDK, chrono, sport exhaust and some other nice bits of spec for a couple of hundred a month less than the equivalent 991.2 GTS. Take a look you might be surprised!
My advice would be to keep the Boxster and buy the car you alluded to in one of your podcasts with Joe - the GR Yaris ! It offers all the performance you can use on a British B road with (slightly) more space and with four wheel drive you can use it all year road. You won't regret it (I bought one replacing my M240i).
I had an M140i, now with an i20N and a lot less power. Even at 200hp it’s difficult to extract the full potential on U.K. roads however given the opportunity I like to think I’d jump at the chance of 911 ownership.
After a few yrs in a 981 base , and a 718S Cayman, I was looking at base 992’s as couldn’t quite stretch to an S. They felt more like a refined GT car than a sports so tried a high spec 991.2 S with ceramics, rear wheel steer , buckets etc and I thought wow this is more like it..like a Cayman on steroids and the sound is glorious!
Great review. I went from a 981 GT4 with carbon buckets to the ‘base’ 992 with quite a few options. I miss the GT4, owned it for about three years, but the 992 is a stunning car. It’s a shame Porsches are going up in price such a lot. 😓😓😓 The ‘base’ 992 has plenty of power and allows you to Rev it out without being worried about losing you licence. Ps. As far as I’m aware all 992s, excluding GT products, are turbo powered.
Pete, enjoyed the vlog and never worry about waxing lyrically about a wonderful car. The elephant in the room I feel is the price, it’s not Porsche specific but the market in general for enthusiasts seems to have went above and beyond the usual increases as time passes. Good plan to look at the 991 variants but I wouldn’t hang about as the prices are on the rise. Personally I think you’ve found a sweet spot with the Boxster and possibly a 4.0 variant or spyder might be a better fit? All the best, Kevin.
Hi Ped As you are aware I am huge fan of the brand. 911 love them, my Carrera 4S Cabrio I would rate as best car I have been fortunate to own. Following our house move and downsize, 2 cars out of 5 had to go including the 911. If I were to consider another it would rule out the latest versions, too expensive. Therefore 991 gen1 GTS Cabrio or 997 GTS Cabrio. Whilst you have to accept an older car with the 997, careful search brings up some very good cars with excellent spec and relatively low mileage, and money wise Boxster prices. I can confirm very useable, fantastic driving experience, and of course the Pups would travel 1st Class.😎😎
A very good analysis. The 992 GTS/4GTS is a very enjoyable, efficient, practical and reliable car. Wether with a light pack or not. I used to own a 981 Cayman S and now drive the above. Porsche certainly knows how to make engines and gearboxes. There is a very unique driving experience with these cars, the first of all being the sensational driving position, with the wheel facing you like in a race car (and not like in a lorry). I think one makes the right choice with any flat-6 potted Porsche as long as the car is in great condition. Ultimately I am a 911 fan, but I wouldn’t mind a 718 Speedster 😎
GTS at 120quid, is cheap!! Over 250quid in Aust. Helped my mate just order one, A$434k!! Same as a base GT3, just can't get a GT3. We we told 18-24mth, but ended up only being 9m. As for the hybrid, they are delayed until mid '24 we were told, as of only 15Jul23. And the dash on the 992.2 is horrible. I think you need to talk to ya mate, Joe, he bagged the crap out of the GTS. Maybe a T or second hand GT3 is for you? But do what is right for you and no one else. Personally I prefer a NA engine....GT3 or pre 98 (and yes, for others, I've had a real turbo!). PS, so glad that you told people how to get into buckets, they are a must in a GT car!! many people just throw themselves in and then complain. Don't get a turbo, you can't use it on the roads anymore. Also I remember 3 gears, ha!
Although...That GTS with the stripped out back seats and extra's does put it in the same category as the T which is a great car and my pick of the 992 range.
I sold my 992 911S. Really uncomfortable no lumber support in normal 4!wat power seats and I’m 6”2 and it had 7 factory faults. After having 5 Porsches I’m now taking a break. Don’t forget the new 992 point 2 911 comes out later this year.
Pete, all of these motors are turbos (exception gt3/rs). Otherwise, great review. I personally am finding it hard to pick between a 718 spyder and 992 carrera T
Hi Pete, great video, however I don’t understand why you mention na 911’s a few times but the 992 GTS is indeed a Turbo, also there is no certainty that the mark2 992 will only be available as a hybrid, my guess is that they will do something similar to the Panamera, with internal combustion only and hybrid options, let’s hope so anyway
That’s certainly a beautiful drivers car Pete. Love the colour I saw a 911 in a fantastic blue once but could never find the colour on their configuration site.
991 last of the N/A You were driving a 3.0 twin turbo 992 Great review non the less just not got the same beautiful scream as a N/A motor and the price.....😮
Have to agree daily diver comfort seats. I’ve not driven a modern 911, but the auto blip is great. Manual box looks awesome. I just feel they are too big, but I’m driving a 993 so I would say that 🤣
Can't understand the complaining about the dash view... there is a minimized position, whick looks amazing, with all the information you need. Its a superb car, specially the manual version!
You know i kept be told 1 year minimum wait for gts delivery then i went out and bought a 22 911 4s used this june 2023 and what you know the very same week my porsche dealer called me and said they have 1 allocation so i grabbed it and i couldn't believe porsche has it being delivered oct 22 2023 so 2024 911 gts coupe but the price went up so much since last year $ 13,000 in usa so total was 167,500 with option ouch. So there available just need right connection and i wouldn't pay a dollar extra for allocation
Great review Pete, but I'm not no where near that league. You're right though a 991.2 GTS is a good option, but knowing you it would either be the Targa or the Cab version. The HT isn't an option, unless you've borrowed it for the week. 👌👍😜
Overkill Pete. Boxter all day as a convertible. Better looking IMO. I drove a 911.2 GTS Targa vs my Spyder…Spyder all day for me. Having said that, would I like to have a 911…yes, but maybe the base w/o any goodies
Great review as always… Had my Cayman GTS4.0 for 18mths and it’s amazing, but…. started to look at 911’s because I “need” to have a 911!! The GTS is the affordable sweet spot the current 911 range, so test drove a 992 C2 GTS manual. Awesome car, looked a step up from the GTS4.0 until I drove it. Insanely fast, but just didn’t have the intimate, engaging feel of the cayman, or the sound of N/A engine. It felt big and fidgety over bad roads. I was expecting to be blown away , but wasn’t. Cost to swap was 70k!! I desperately wanted a 911 but the test drive made me realise how good the Cayman GTS4.0 really is!! So will keep the GTS4.0 and buy a Macan instead 😂
Nice to hear. I'm picking up a GTS4.0 boxster soon(ish) upgrading from a base. Keep being worried that I will like it less than my base, esp as the PPFs have come in since my 2018 base. Also hankered after a 911, but a bit spendy for me, and they also seem a bit too big for the roads around here to relax with.
I had the similar experience when I test drove a 992 GTS convertible with PDK. I didn’t connect with the car, it felt impersonal. Coming from a 718 Spyder I ended up with a 992 Carrera T manual, and I just love it.
Why should u sell or change the one u got U have its a wonderful car . I love ❤️ the Boxster . I saw 👀 this video 3 times now never before I have done that. The last time I did twice was when u did the video of the RED Jacs . A year or 2 ago. 🏁🇦🇺
You can get a 991.1 s for 70k and in my opinion sounds great , has lots of low down pull and a great top end . It’s a bigger car than the 997 but still looks classic 911. The 992 just looks bloated and difficult to justify the price
Was is Porsche Silverstone yesterday getting my 911 sorted..the one car that took my eye was a 911 GTS in Python Green with black wheels £139k only done 2k miles🤔
Consider a 991.1 Ped. 991.2 were the first of the turbo cars. A .1 will be NA, and potentially pre-OPF - then you’ll get a proper flat six noise ! 😀. Downside will be that there’s no CarPlay. Let me know if you’d like to drive one 😉
I agree!! I also have a 991.1 GTS (my third 911... I am an addict!). It is an incredible car for the money and the sound from the N/A engine is epic! £75 - £85k will get you a lovely car from a Porsche dealer with 2yrs warranty, and residuals are very strong on 911s! Good luck with your choice! BTW some good 3rd party CarPlay modules are available for the PCM 3.1 👍
I’ve had a 996 c4s, 997 GTS, 991.1 GTS, 991.2 gt3 and now a 992 targa GTS and just test driven a Boxster GTS 4.0 which I get delivered later in the year, and I honestly would stick with the Boxster it’s such a complete car, size, power, dynamics
Love it. What a car... 7 gears, when would you ever get into 7th gear or even 6th, but I guess there are times when you might get into op gear/s. Cheers Pedro.
It wouldn’t be a Porsche video without me making a mistake. Clearly had my GT3 head on and was getting excited. Clearly not an NA. Missed that slip of the tongue in the edit. Oops 🙊
GTS Coupe with a seven speed manual and rear steering. It’s absolutely a blast to drive.
Porsche gave me a new 911 GTS for a weekend. Amazing car but almost too much power. Also felt some turbo lag, but didn’t use sports mode correctly. Get manual, no leg... if it's ok for you to drive manual.

Totally agree, 911 v 718 different dynamics, but not better
💯
I'm not sure its a statement you've arrived, maybe a statement you've gotten old
Went from 987 to 911.1GTS, beautiful car but just gone back to a 981 Boxster GTS and love it, it's such a best of both worlds car. KEEP THE BOXSTER PETE 🤩
Right on!
Interesting - I had a 991.2 GTS and changed to a Boxster 981 GTS. Have since moved on again, but it’s the 911 that I miss.
@@nickfield596 the 981GTS is such an amazing car, be assured I also miss the 911 😞
Just took a drive in my 992 Carrera S manual with the top down. Great car but I was also considering the Boxster GTS 718 but I think I’ll keep my car!
I just purchased a 991.2 4 GTS and absolutely love it. I love how you couldn’t keep from breaking out into a huge smile after a few minutes of driving!

Hi, Thank you for your honest content. I have just bought the actual Python Green GTS you tested. Can’t wait! All the best and keep good as you are. D
Quality work as ever.
Refreshing and rare that someone is honest about budgetary restrictions, many a channel at least allows the impression that money is no object.
I for one shall look forward to that 911 being on your driveway at some point in the none too distant future.
Thanks Mark. Yeah that just does my head in 😢
Best review yet. My 992 Carrera 2 GTS is due in September. I can't wait !!!
Have fun!
Wow that green 911 GTS looks beautiful and sounds the business too, something us average Joe's can only dream of owning lol, looks like u had a blast driving that one Mr petrol ped, must admit Porsches look great in green best colour for them I think 👌💪🏴

Love the Python green.
Given the pricing surely a Boxter or Cayman GTS 4.0 with the flat 6 is actually a good compromise?
Epic Porsche content, please keep locked 🔒 on Porsche!

Two different animals. I had a 981 Boxster Manual and I loved it. Ordered a 2022 992 Carrera S Manual Cabriolet and it’s my daily driver…no regrets.
Thanks for sharing another one of your very inclusive-style offerings Pete. Your channel is just the perfect destination for a Porsche enthusiast.

I am pretty sure the new Carrera T with simple stage 1 tune is the perfect way to go. Best daily possible and still huge pottential on the track
I’d go the T too
Agree, I'd definitely go with 911T, fairly light weighted, fast enough on public roads, and some unique features that you can’t even have on regular 911s; to be honest, if possible, I’d suggest to keep the 718 GTS and try to get the 911T, that will be a perfect combo to enjoy both of the NA and turbo engines; or at least, 718 4.0 GTS is something you shouldn’t sell it now, Bc it’s the last of its own, whereas 911 still gets some time to be fully electrified; anyways, as a owner of 718 4.0 GTS, I’m waiting for the 911T, and I’ll try best to keep both of them FOR EVER!
@@crazypaupau Agree. The packaging sweet spot in the range. Light (for a 911), sports exhaust and lowered suspension, 20/21 rims, and rear steer is available as a reasonable cost option. Power is plenty for a road car. It’s where I’d go.
911 T hat zu wenig ps….. GTS ist die bessere Wahl
Also, both great cars but there is a reason the 911’s are icons…superb.
Great video yet again. Keep them coming
Thanks, will do!
That is pretty much my ideal 911, but without the lightweight pack. Python green really pops, I totally love it❤️
Can certainly recommend a 991.2 Carrera T - residuals pretty solid, so will sit well with finance companies. i bought one a couple of months ago in manual with Lichfield tune and Sharkwerks exhaust. Bloody lovely thing
Great review as always.Very nice car.I'm sure you will be in your own 911 at some point.
A great color and a cool car. Great video Sir Pete! I seen a white gt3 rs this last weekend it was amazing. Now I’m gonna think kermeit the frog drives a green Porsche lol
😂😂😂
Cheers Pete. Just picked up a new 4 GTS Cab, same colour as you and Tracey took for the weekend a while back. Your vid convinced us on the sa.e colour and roof and cab! I think unless you want poverty spec you are 20 to 25k in extras. I optioned the delete -10mm for normal S suspension and it is fine on UK roads. Good luck hunting for possibly your next car.
Nice 👌
911 GTS is a 3.0 turbo charged engine, only N/A powered Porsches are the GT3, the Cayman/Boxster GTS 4.0, GT4 and the Spyder.
Didn’t even spot that slip of the tongue in the edit…sorry 😬
We just swapped from a 718 GTS4.0 to a 911T sans back seats.
Fitted out with dog harness and carpet protection, it’s perfect for us and Jess the Labrador 😀
Amazing 👍
I can imagine 👍
Before you rush into a 991.2 GTS I had one and although very quick it did nothing for me I had rear steer and PDCC with PDK etc. I let it go and still dont miss it other than the looks. I had a 997 GTS manual GTS 2wd and preferred it. I would not have rws, PDCC or pdk again. If you really want a 911 then look very closely at the 991.1 GTS 2wd before you jump as its a more engaging at lower speed shall we say. I would say however I preferred my 981 spyder over both of them but it has its issues like the gearing and lazy engine tune amongst others.
Anything with a Porsche badge on it is my preference 👍 love the GTS in that colour.
Cool huh 👍
@@PetrolPed Thank you so much, I think that makes sense. Actually, it does. 🙂
Wow 😮
My advice would be to keep the Boxster and buy the car you alluded to in one of your podcasts with Joe -
the GR Yaris ! It offers all the performance you can use on a British B road with (slightly) more space and
with four wheel drive you can use it all year road.
You won't regret it (I bought one replacing my M240i).
👍
I had an M140i, now with an i20N and a lot less power. Even at 200hp it’s difficult to extract the full potential on U.K. roads however given the opportunity I like to think I’d jump at the chance of 911 ownership.
What a delicious car! I agree though, price hike is a bit scary. Everyman's 10 car garage has a 911. 😎😁
Hi Pete. Are you ready to have a drive of my hybrid turbo 718 Cayman yet? It might give you some inspiration lol
Let me know when and where and we will sort it 👍
Almost 20k miles on my 2022 992 Carrera S Manual. Love this icon! ❤
Congrats 🙌
After a few yrs in a 981 base , and a 718S Cayman, I was looking at base 992’s as couldn’t quite stretch to an S. They felt more like a refined GT car than a sports so tried a high spec 991.2 S with ceramics, rear wheel steer , buckets etc and I thought wow this is more like it..like a Cayman on steroids and the sound is glorious!
I prefer the targa over the convertible as that's a bit bulky on the back. Look forward to see what your next car will be.
👍
Great review. I went from a 981 GT4 with carbon buckets to the ‘base’ 992 with quite a few options. I miss the GT4, owned it for about three years, but the 992 is a stunning car. It’s a shame Porsches are going up in price such a lot. 😓😓😓 The ‘base’ 992 has plenty of power and allows you to Rev it out without being worried about losing you licence. Ps. As far as I’m aware all 992s, excluding GT products, are turbo powered.
Good choice!
A 991.2 Carrera T would be worth a look and not too much more than you paid for the Boxster, compared to a new 911 at least.
Great review as ever 👍😎
Thanks! 👍
Don’t forget the T Pete. Had mine 2 months - perfect road car, manual box and less cash.
👍
Pete, enjoyed the vlog and never worry about waxing lyrically about a wonderful car. The elephant in the room I feel is the price, it’s not Porsche specific but the market in general for enthusiasts seems to have went above and beyond the usual increases as time passes. Good plan to look at the 991 variants but I wouldn’t hang about as the prices are on the rise. Personally I think you’ve found a sweet spot with the Boxster and possibly a 4.0 variant or spyder might be a better fit? All the best, Kevin.
I agree mate. Car pricing these days is ridiculous 😳
@@PetrolPedgorgeous red spyder on sale at Wolverhampton Porsche right now. Keep ogling it.
Hello pal, lovely looking car, I never realised what all of the model letters denoted. One day I’ll get to drive one. 👍🇬🇧
That’s a great spec but comfort seats for sure and the pups need space !!! Great review 🍻🇨🇦👍🏻
Thanks 👍
Hi Ped
As you are aware I am huge fan of the brand.
❤ the gts green ⭐️🌟🏁🇦🇺
I like That one, not the seats, not the rear seat delete and certainly not Kermit Green or Puke Green.
As a daily the solid roof best option.
Thanks Pete , love your work mate 👍
Thanks 👍
Great review Ped
Thanks 🙏🏻
Although...That GTS with the stripped out back seats and extra's does put it in the same category as the T which is a great car and my pick of the 992 range.
Great review. To be clear, the 992 is not Naturally Aspirated, they have two turbos. Now, the GT4 and Spyder are the last of the NA flat sixes :-)
I know I know…it was just a slip of the tongue that I missed in the edit. Sorry 😢
Hi from Jacksonville FL.
Hi 👋
Been blessed with fantastic weather.........thunder in the distance...........OMG if we'd only known.
Tell me about it
Brought my 911 3yrs ago for £105k 11k miles & We Buy any Car valuation now is £90k..& your right lead times are horrendous
Wow 😮
I sold my 992 911S. Really uncomfortable no lumber support in normal 4!wat power seats and I’m 6”2 and it had 7 factory faults. After having 5 Porsches I’m now taking a break. Don’t forget the new 992 point 2 911 comes out later this year.
I though all 911's had turbos these days, not naturally aspirated.
Didn’t even spot that slip of the tongue in the edit…sorry 😬
@@PetrolPedthought you was a blogger .😂
I was about to say the same!
@@PetrolPedthey’re all turbo except for the GT3?
Yep. Only GT3 is normally aspirated these days. RPM
Pete, all of these motors are turbos (exception gt3/rs). Otherwise, great review.
I personally am finding it hard to pick between a 718 spyder and 992 carrera T
Didn’t even spot that slip of the tongue in the edit…sorry 😬
I will watch the video in a short while but the answer is yes get a 992 GTS. Loving mine.
👍
1:34 what a view !!
👍
Love it! Great review. Want one. However, just got a S3 8V.👍
Good choice!
That green is horrific…… love the silver
Hi Pete, great video, however I don’t understand why you mention na 911’s a few times but the 992 GTS is indeed a Turbo, also there is no certainty that the mark2 992 will only be available as a hybrid, my guess is that they will do something similar to the Panamera, with internal combustion only and hybrid options, let’s hope so anyway
I mentioned it once by mistake. I’ve had a few NA flat six Porsches recently and just had that in my head. Didn’t pick it up I then edit 😢
That’s certainly a beautiful drivers car Pete. Love the colour I saw a 911 in a fantastic blue once but could never find the colour on their configuration site.
991 last of the N/A
You were driving a 3.0 twin turbo 992
Great review non the less just not got the same beautiful scream as a N/A motor and the price.....😮
Slip of the tongue in the excitement 😢
Another great review Pete, I would probably go for the carrera T , if I was in the position to buy.
Have to agree daily diver comfort seats. I’ve not driven a modern 911, but the auto blip is great. Manual box looks awesome. I just feel they are too big, but I’m driving a 993 so I would say that 🤣
I just got my Cayman GTS delivered and I'm thinking about a 911 already. I'd probably get the Carrera T with carbon buckets.
Nice 👌
I've always wanted a 356! But either of these would be nice 😊 Great video, thanks.
Any time!
Hi maté great Porsche my dream car like your videos 👍😁
Thank you! 👍
Enjoy 👍
Great review Pete, but I'm not no where near that league. You're right though a 991.2 GTS is a good option, but knowing you it would either be the Targa or the Cab version. The HT isn't an option, unless you've borrowed it for the week. 👌👍😜
Overkill Pete. Boxter all day as a convertible. Better looking IMO. I drove a 911.2 GTS Targa vs my Spyder…Spyder all day for me. Having said that, would I like to have a 911…yes, but maybe the base w/o any goodies
Honey we need to upgrade to a 911 because it have seats for the dogs. Love this excuse 👌😂
😂😂😂
There’s nothing like a Porsche!!!!
Indeed 👍
Great review as always…
Had my Cayman GTS4.0 for 18mths and it’s amazing, but…. started to look at 911’s because I “need” to have a 911!!
I’m happy with my 718S not sure what I could replace it with ? Not a 911 unless I could stretch to a 911 993 Turbo ! But don’t think I could 😢💰💰💰💰
👍
does your Bianchi fit in the (non) back seat? front wheel off...
I doubt it 😬
You can get a 991.1 s for 70k and in my opinion sounds great , has lots of low down pull and a great top end .
Not this one 😜
Nice review thanks
Only thing is, this car isn’t naturally aspirated, it’s turbo
I know. Please read my pinned comment.
@@PetrolPed also, I’m just about to do this swap, Boxster 25 to c4gts
You’ll miss the GTS for many many years and will deeply regret letting it go and the memories with it.
Go for it Pete, you're going to regret not scratching that itch . You'll end up being old before you realise
Yep book this into my dream garage Pete. 👍possibly not in the python green , but I’d take it. Lol
Nice 👌
Love it. What a car... 7 gears, when would you ever get into 7th gear or even 6th, but I guess there are times when you might get into op gear/s. Cheers Pedro.
