the shark tank is simple, but easy to navigate, sat in the 200s, the 100s and the penthouse suite. the suite level is easy to get to, they have dedicated suiteholder entrances to elevators, the staff is friendly, they have club areas which are awesome. point of fact with the shark head, it was originally a hollywood prop, but when the sharks used it, it was only supposed to be used for that opening game, but it became such a hit, they kept it and its very iconic.
I was there in July, 1993 for its public debut. As a STH, I wanted to check out my seats. And you’re right about the press box. This season TV is back at the first row of the upper level.
From a personal standpoint with being there 7 times, I do agree with you on the clean general design. One of my favorite things about SAP is the player driveway into the rink because after every game it's a great way to get any autographs from any player as they leave. With the seats, my father and I tend to get the promenade areas or near the very edge of the balcony in the upper bowl. Mostly because the goal horn is located just above section 207 and anyone in the upper bowl near that area can get a good rattle, I just like being in those areas because you can really feel the horn. My only reason for this is because by sitting in those areas you have a great view of the ice. There is really no bad seat. Plus the fans are nice as well.
Yup that driveway Obviously is where the team bus goes as well. I would have to enter through there on my routine in San Jose. We would arrived at the rink around 4:30 and I'd walk to the Whole Foods (we don't have any in Canada) for a pre game meal and then walk back to the rink for 6:00 and preparation for game time! I agree that smaller rinks give the average fan a great view and feel for the game overall. And in the NHL they're 'cheap' tickets. Can't go wrong! Thanks for watching!
The Shark Tank opened in the year where Silicon Valley was transforming into the tech capital it’s known for today. The surrounding area saw many tech businesses move in, followed by more housing and more dining and nightlife districts, transit stations, etc. Even the neatly airport transformed into a major international hub. It’s nice to think that the Sharks are the sporting face of an entire region.
The TV/Radio press box used to be in the first row, center ice in the upper bowl. I asked Dan Rusanowsky (Sharks Radio Voice) of the move to the rafters and he stated that it was a "business decision" from the Sharks.
Ahhh, yes. Business decisions! Another factoid that I didn't include in this episode was the fact the owner originally build basically an apartment on suite level for him to use as a residence while in San Jose. But City council said no to that, stating a venue like that couldn't have a residence on site.
@@_TheRinks I gotta dispute that. I think either George Gund or Greg Jamison did build a “living area” but it was located in the club level of the arena. It has been converted to something else. I think it is a meeting room for when the team invites groups for charity or something like that.
James Colacino I would love to! But I would have to find a sponsor to finance it. I would have to visit it in person whether it’s NFL/Baseball. I don’t want to be someone that does reviews if I’ve never actually been there.
your dream will come true 1 day buddy See my big dream is to visit the acc or Scotiabank arena ! I visited the Bell Centre (Montreal) (Im from the area quebec) and i also visited Canadian Tire Centre (Ottawa) but i always wanted to visit the air canada centre 🙂 i visited the rogers centre (Toronto Blue jays) but never the leafs id love to
I love SAP I saw 2 games there so far and was wondering what if they moved or relocate and share the same arena with the Warriors at the new Chase Center that’s being built here in Downtown San Francisco besides this is where most people come visit even tourists and to get to the SAP center takes about an hour on the Cal Train San Jose is really a small city and not much to do there besides watch a Sharks game where as here in San Francisco we have the Giants Baseball stadium not that far from the New Chase Center being built and near Downtown where most people come and visit this is where the money is and where tickets and attendance will be at high if they ever move here to San Francisco or atleast play a few games here would be a great idea I say 😎
Chase Center was not built for hockey. Apparently, it would have the same obstruction problem as Barclays Center or the Phoenix Suns arena if you tried to shoehorn hockey into it. Also, the "small city" of San Jose is bigger than San Francisco, 1 million people compared to about 885,000 for SF. San Jose is its own market, not a suburb of Frisco. Also, San Jose had a deal to land the A's but the Giants blocked it. Otherwise, the A's would be playing pretty much across the street from the Sharks.
Umm. ok? They still maybe expensive, but if you look on most if not all secondary ticket market value, the Sharks rank bottom of the league. There's a link in the description for your reference.
@@southtext3400 Ok follow me here: This Video was posted last year. Which meant I took figures from the season prior. If you scroll down the link to the chart that reads "Here's a look at the average NHL secondary market ticket prices for the 2017-18 season." you will see the Sharks ranked dead last in the league at $94.
@@_TheRinks Yeah but there's no way the average is that high I lived in AZ and you could get glass seats that year on stubhub for around that price there's no way that source is accurate.
0987654345678987654383728394738393746 well the rest of the tier seems on par to what other stats were for that season. So dunno what to tell you. San Jose is always ranked near the bottom. And in that chart it just happened to be dead last. Take it or leave it I guess.

$162 million - an absolute steal compared to the current costs of arenas. And it's held up well after 26 years.
yup. Weird to say, but I love it's simplicity. wish more rinks were like that in many ways!

Great vid! Keep it up!
Let's go Sharks!!!! 🦈 Favourite Team
Hey a recommendation, when your done with all the rinks you should do more rinks or stadiums

I love our arena, my biggest dream is to visit that beautyful arena

They might have to change the name to San Francisco Sharks

No thanks. I attend almost 10 Sharks games a season. I refuse going to shitty ass San Francisco to watch hockey.
The ticket price is totally false

looks so boring
Yeah it does. but to me there's beauty in it's simplicity.
