That part is celestial as heck, when you truly listen to it, it transports you someplace ethereal.
I can practically hear the roar of the covenant battlecruiser coming over New Alexandria. It eloquently glides to a stopping point, eyeing the ground with a zealous hunger for destruction. A low hum vibrates the air as a bright glow illuminates from its belly. Then, before you can process what is happening, a beam of white hot power blasts down and razes the cityscape below, transforming it into a surface of glowing glass.
And as the heat slams into you and the thunder subsides, you come to the gut wrenching realization that weakens your bones: Reach is lost.
From 2010 up until about 2014 this was my fucking life, this game. God the memories. I will forever miss those days.

I'm here just after playing the mission now in pc and I have to say that this piece of music and the one in the background of Lone Wolf are a pure work of art they almost tell a story, the chants are like an angelical chorus that sings with melancholy and sadness about our last fortress among the stars and the lifes that were lost defending it to the last breath.

This piece right there just tells you the entirety of halo reach, humanity's courageous fight against an undying foe destined to lose, while its only hope lies on the masterchief, halo reach was one hell of a game

Been watching SODAZ Halo WIPs shorts, the recent one had a part of this track play out alongside, man watching the glassing at the end just swelled up all sorts of shit I didn't think I'd feel.
completing the jammers objectives followed by the covenant cruisers glassing new alexandria just hits harder cause all you done is so insignificant to what's happening and wont change anything except it being desperate attempts to slow covenants down
I wish 343 was bringing Reach to the MCC instead of ODST. Campaign wise, Reach was a much better game. Plus the music.... so beautiful.

I disagree, ODST is still relatively unique. There’s a particularly strange feeling and tone to the game that makes it stand out differently among other urban shooters. The shade of blue used throughout the game just oscillates a vibrancy that continues to stick to me since it’s release.

Problem is: 343i is under very close contract stipulation and order to not interact with the old Bungie whatsoever when it comes to Halo. By whom? Microsoft.

If your still there, there is a hidden track on "the package" called this cave is not a natural formation I beleive. It plays when your searching for Halsey's lab in the now destroyed Oni base. I have only seen one dude get it but it's mixed with the whole missions music can you get that shit and make it like these videos? Cheers bud
