To say he's not under any form of punishment isn't true, psychiatric detention is as much if not more severe, though it could benefit the culprit more to be held legally accountable too. Revenge doesn't relieve grief, nor would changing the wording of the law improve psychiatric interventions. Take some time to grieve.

He has not gone to hospital. Look up Ashworth secure unit. Its a prision with the facilities to handle dangerous individuals. I feel for the victims and the family, but this is semantics. The law works in substance.

I did look it up, did you? The second line on the search results is "Psychiatric hospital"........

It’s desperately sad her son was killed. I can’t imagine what she’s going through and wouldn’t wish that in anyone. This feels like she wants revenge by wanting him in a prison not a psychiatric hospital, and in my reading it won’t help her with her grief.

@@AK_UK_ He was prosecuted and sentenced correctly. She is not able to accept this.
He is ill he would not even have been able to be questioned at a trial.
She is also not correctly presenting what was in the report.
Which was all about the risk assessment and he should have been on depot injection so their would be no possibility that he would not take his medication.
She also misrepresenting about the drug tests. He does not need a drug test because they knew exactly what had happened and know all about this person as soon as they arrested him.
Also just because he undertook some actions that.appeared normal does not reflect the state of his mind.
The report is clear if the mental health people.did their job properly this would never have happened. That is what she should focus on getting them to do their job properly and the use of depot Imjections.

She has all the hallmarks of being a bitter, angry woman who is only interested in revenge. The guy was mentally ill and he is going to be held indefinitely in a psychiatric hospital. The courts shouldn’t be sending mental cases to prison anyway

By the way, you're not demonstrating much empathy yourself.
I hope that if you suffer what she has (God forbid) then you will realize that grief can be destructive, especially initially, and she at least is seeing a therapist (as she talked about in another interview).
      She's taking responsibility.

@leenieledejo6849 I have great understanding of mental health/illnesses and don't blame people for behaviours they don't intentionally commit due to an illness. Putting people with severe mental health problems or personality disorders in prison is not only totally inappropriate but of no benefit to the sufferer or other inmates!
I'm also no stranger to grief; it's your insight that is lacking
