The key comment I took from this full hearing was McCraw answering one of the committees question relating to delay, in which the chief always had some sort of excuse not to breach, whether that was the weaponry, shields, classroom keys, man power, barricaded subject, etc. Now we are learning all of those reasons he went through to not to breach were just false. I hate playing Monday morning quarterback, who knows what I would have done in that situation, but if you are scared for your life and officers onsite are questioning your thought process under duress, be man enough to step aside and hand over responsibilities to another officer. It is so damn refreshing to hear McCraw be honest and call out a "brother in blue" when he deserves to be called out, vs. protecting him cause he is a cop. Its sickening when cops lie or cover up garbage for other officers because they have this complex where they need to protect another cop, even if it hides the truth and covers up misconduct.

The chief using the word "bro" did it for me.

Every sworn officer at the school.. aside from the BTAC officers that killed the shooter… should be immediately fired in disgrace.. anyone that delayed action should be prosecuted. It’s really not that complicated.

So we now know that Radio Communication was not possible Regardless that the Chief didn't have his, the officers that arrived in 3 minutes chose to NOT ENGAGE AS TRAINED. Fire those officers and charge them with a crime.

I think it's respectable to not throw the lower "employees" under the bus, but seriously, if there are 11 of you in the building, you don't need to be told to do your job.

Negligence pure and simple. They need to fire the lot of the officers on scene and the commander should never work in LE again anywhere.

What a clusterfuk of a situation this was. This falls on one commander who screwed up and was not ready for prime time when it mattered:(

Who was responsible for making sure the exterior doors are in the locked position and classroom strike plates are engaging with lock? Why didn’t someone try to a least check the door handle to make sure it was locked? They had an hour to come to a conclusion that the shooter MUST have entered because the door was unlocked. If the chief ordered that the windows in other classrooms be shot out in order to gain access to children, why didn’t he order the windows in rooms 111 and 112 be shot out? This would have given police a better chance of locating the shooter and/or even begin to distract and engage the shooter. The chief needs to be fired. PERIOD. At best, he didn’t possess the skills needed to take down an active shooter. At worst he was too scared to do what was necessary to engage with the shooter. He has blood on his hands for his inaction that terrible day.

These cowards better release all the footage. When they get to hid things from the public, it makes it easier for them to hide their incompetence and play the blame game.

This was a catastrophic failure by the Uvalde PD overall, starting with the Chief of Police! Cowards! They detained parents that attempted to break in the barricade to go in and rescue their children! Why? An armed civilian without any proper training would have done a better job than the police department did.
