I would leave the fuselage as is with some minor repairs. After covering the tail section and wings you can always change your mind. However it’s meant for flying. It’s not a show piece. Get’r done and let’s go fly.
Mark fantastic build. Would leave the fuselage and patch it up. I’m sure back in the Great War planes were covered with a lot of patches. Jeff in LA USA
I would strip the covering off the fuselage allowing you to check the structural integrity . After inspection and repair recover in doculam and tissue respray silver to match the rest 😂
I would just do a cosmetic repair on the fuselage. There is so much of it that is good.
Ill try covering the tailfeathers and see how it compares to the fuselage.

Tending to agree
Give the fuselage a coat of dope rejuvenator. Makes ancient finishes look new and puts all the chemicals that flashed off over the decades back in.
Thanks for that

Thanks Jeff Ive had a little play with it and Im pleased with the results..... Watch this space 😊
I would leave the fuselage, it looks battle torn ... hard to recreate! You could always 'rough-up' the wings to match 🤔🙂
I'll see how it looks at the covered wings before I do anything daft to the fuselage

I have stripped the lower surface and checked the structure all looks sound.
Id just keep the fuse the same mark ,patch it up 👍👍
That's the plan now I 🤔 think.
