Sounded awesome in 89' and still holds up in 23' !!!!!!!! 34 years later...
This is literary a masterpiece....Adrian knew what he was doing...low sales don't explain this gem.
I think this style of rock was at the end of its run at this point. As far as quality, it’s amazing stuff and would have been much more popular I’m afraid if it had been released a few years earlier. This is so much better than most of those trashy copies of glam bands from the late 80’s, and unfortunately, this was too closely related to that stuff to be given a fair shot. I love it and would like to see a reissue, or have it available for streaming, because I can really only find it here. Cheers!!
*This is literary a masterpiece....Adrian knew what he was doing...low sales don't explain this gem.*
Maiden has a giant marketing machine behind them you know...
Dickinson 2nd & 3rd fantastic solo albums also weren't sales hits.
@@blademancano8035 I agree. This album is great but it didn’t do much financially/commercially. I think this would’ve done so much better if it was released a few years earlier.
@@blademancano8035 You got that right...Your analysis is spot on...
This record got me through highschool, something about Adrian’s voice & the lyrics on this record… he’s talking about the struggle..
“Out in the jungle called the city, you’ll never make it on your own”
It didn’t get its proper due cause of the time it was released I think but regardless of sales or popularity. It’s got of my favorite riffs and solos from him post Iron Maiden
30 years of listening. From boy to man with this album. Pure gold.

Ginor ASMR gracias totales!!!
Adrian has THE voice 😍
Ginor ASMR I
I fell in love with this album about 11 years ago. Back then there were only some torrent download versions in crap quality around.
Some years later I finally found a original CD on the bay and payed 60€ for it. I would have payed ten times more if necessary, since it easily is one of my 5 lonesome island albums. ❤
my favorite album I've been listening to it for 30 years
Un capolavoro, troppo sottovalutato sia quando uscì, sia oggi. Un album da manuale.
In the 90s I was desperate to listen to this album but Icouldn't find it anywhere. Now I remembered it after like 20 years or so and... wow, super cool, exactly as I imagined it. Has that "Reach Out" feeling.
That is exactly what I thought :D
Damn I love Reach Out. I think it is the best Song Maiden ever made, despite being a b-side.
Same for me. 💯
True it was hard to find back then
@@elpenguinotierno6238 Don't be ridiculous
Adrian only created masterpieces :') 💖
Why Adrian Smith didn't continue the project when he left Iron Maiden soon after this was released is beyond me. It is so good!
Instead Adrian formed a prog rock band called Psycho Motel, hiring a vocalist to front it instead of singing himself. I think he has an amazing voice.
I remember thinking that too. I wanted Psycho Motel to be as good as this 🤟🏻😎🤟🏻
The album and club tour was a commercial failure. It's all online to read if you're interested.
Wow I would never suspect this to be the type of music Adrian would come up with being from maiden, you really get to hear the creative differences and styles.
He can do a lot of stuff, and as far as this style, he’s ridiculously good at it. But it blends well with maiden too, which is also unexpected but incredibly cool!
Like Freddie Mercury solo album
This is a great album.
Criminally underrated album, I'm baffled why it wasn't more successful. It's popish but still has a heavy edge to it, and you can't help but love Adrian's rough voice.
If he took a more Prominent "Iin youFace" role in maiden, this WouHave been successful. he is to shy, humble and undestated, to build the necessary hype
I remember ASAP playing the Tonypandy Naval Club back in "91/"92 drank with adrian in the downstairs bar later on , great guy :)
I love this record.. it's bluesy and a little dark. Very unlike Maiden.. and I think that was the whole idea..
You know what my friend i agree with you sir 🙏💯🤘
Of course it was the whole idea. Actually it's an AOR album. One of their best and one of my favorites of all time. Highly Underrated...
@@chabomorphosis I'd just call melodic rock
Awesome!
If Phil Lynott hadn't died, I'd expect late 80s Thin Lizzy to sound like this album.
Yo lo tenia en cassette , se me perdió. buena música un gran músico Adrian....
This sound is full of influeces like Toto, Bon Jovi, Gary Moore and Billy Idol.... Too many distance from Iron! Incredible amazing! ❤
and Foreigner and Eddie Money of course
And Brian Adams... Maybe critic was too hard with this album because it sounded like other groups but wasn't enough personality on its own.
Maybe expecting a more Adrian/Maiden sound... but they forgot that THIS was Adrian's sound too. And his creative personality is totally clear hearing all of awesome guitar solos along the album.
Solos that really reminds a fistfull of moments and passages across 80's discography of Iron Maiden, specially on Somewhere in Time and Seventh Son of a Seventh Son albums, where his contribution was enormous.
An album to enjoy and makes you fly to golden years of best melodic rock albums and bands. Perhaps the greatest missing style since decades. ago.
This album truly is gold! 💛
I’ve had that opening number stuck in my head for weeks now.
This has become one of the things I most enthusiastically recommend to people, it’s really a shame this hasn’t gotten more attention.
Adrian has such a powerful voice in this record
first time listening to this... its amazing!
didn't realize Adrian's got such a distinctive voice, while being a good backing vocal in maiden
He sounds American!?
@@bankruptbritain6103definitely doesnt sound like the Beatles English
This album is full of wonderful licks and tones. Adrian did a great job and it's a real shame that he had the Maiden expectations on him when he released this. It even blindsided me as I was expecting anything but this. Fav track is After The Storm. Incredible mix of Pink Floyd/ Rock and some Pop elements in there too. Something Peter Gabriel or Sting could have released at that time.
ADRIAN, YOU FUCKIN' RULE.
And this album is THE evidence.
Miss this album. The new Smith/Kotzen album came out today. Adrian’s sound is brilliant as always.
Can't wait for it to arrive.
Thank (G/g)od I have this album. Not the ENIGMA one, but the original EMI one.
REAL FUCKING MUSIC, NO BULL, NO DESPERATE RELEASE. AWESOME !
Such a masterpiece! Bought on CD many years ago 😁 it's a crime that isn't on Spotify. It deserves to be listened from any class rock fan that love wonderful music!
why would be in that crap of spotify??? the important is to have it in mp3 and in YT!
@@mikatu I mean that with Spotify, it could be listened from more people
I love Adrian's style. Such an original guitarist and his side projects are awesome.
Such a great album. Been listening to it for 31 years!!
Wow, this is goddamned killer. Love the production...pure '80s hard rock awesomeness.
Great AOR album , Adrian and the band are incredible as always .
Wonderful. No words!
Bought the cassette when it was first released. Not heard this in decades. Wish they would reissue the album again. Better than I rememberred
You can find it on Ebay
Adrian sounds AMAZING! love his voice here
Why am I only finding this now after 31 years from it's release, I'm totally blown away
OMG ! 31 ys ago? I'm getting old ! :-D
Hell, this is my first time listening to it, and I only just got into metal as a whole around when quarantine began. Never too late to unearth a masterpiece.
Fun fact: the drummer on this album is the son of The Beatles drummer Ringo Starr.
Wow!! really?
Zak Starkey
I think it started out with the intention of Nicko playing drums if I recall. Zak thanks him for borrowing his kit on the album credits too 🤟🏻😎🤟🏻 I love this album, still play it regularly "Just another kid gone astray..."
Zak Starkey has been the drummer for THE WHO for decades. Absolutely brilliant and his style is just like that of "Moon the Loon"!
@@toka1971 I don't think he was with the Who at this point tho
First time hearing this!
Adrian going for the Bryan Adams sound....and that's no bad thing. If only Bryan Adams actually rocked like you think he should - he'd sound like this. Brilliant!!
Wish this was still on Spotify. Also, if you love this you may like 'Roadhouse' self-titled & only album. Has Pete Willis from Def Leppard, just a great rock album 🤟🏻😎🤟🏻
@Ariel Ariel Roadhouse, autotitulado
interesting to hear the different musical paths that Adrian, Bruce and Harris (Maiden) took during this era (beginning of 90's?) - all are completely different, you can see the split due to musical differences was inevitable - at that time.
Oh wow. I had this on vinyl! Bringing back some memories.
Gatefold sleeve, weren't it?
Awesome album, then and now.
Listened this like 4 years ago when i was 14 y/o.Stills being amazing and it's a real shame that wonderfull bands like A.S.A.P. and also Winterose were so underrated back then.
as theres 3 guitarists its hard to know how much adrian is playing nice album thou.😊
Guitar my friend long live sir adrian🤟🤟🤟🤟🔝🔝🌋
Great! ❤🤘😎👍
Never knew this existed. Thank you for posting
Man it's incredible that this LP is not available anywhere
AOR heaven from Adrian Smith!
This is a mix of Joe Lyin Turner, Richie Sambora and Toto in 80's high period.
This sounds like it could be used on the soundtrack for Miami Vice or some other eighties American television production. This was made by Londoners but sounds so American, unlike Smith's former/future band Iron Maiden.
Sounds like an empty stadium during soundcheck post 1986 production.
Mr Adrian Smith.
Great
The first track is very "Top Gun". Love it
Thanks for the upload. Had this on tape then my dog chewed it 15 years ago....along with my 7th son tape! Was soooooo pissed. Cheers
Thank You Adrian For This! I LOVE YOU! Up The Adrians!
I remember buying this album back in the day. Great album Mr Smith.
Grandissimo disco AOR !!
We
Reminds me of Run For Cover....really excellent.
love this ,very atmospheric
I fckn love this album!! One of my favorite CDs ever!
Anyone still coming to listen to this album in December 2021? I love this since day one, kind of what i expected from Adrian after Reach out but even since Somewhere in time i knew he has more than offer, beyond Maiden.
Feb 2022, and this is my first time listening to the album. I’ve listened to Smith/Kotzen and I love it, so I know he has a range of talent beyond what Maiden has to offer, but this is something else entirely. I say this completely unironically, I think my mom would really like this.
great aor melodic metal from this great british musician , i realy love iron maiden but this sound is so delicius, for my ears, congratulations Adrian smith for this great master piece, and Also thanx for it
Grande Adrian Smith, além de um grande guitarrista, canta muiiiiiito. Que voz linda!!!👊🤘🤘🤘
i bloody love you. thanks for putting this up \m/
ahah glad to make you happy! :)
Rocco Saviano
Can you please add the times in the description for every track? :)
+Rocco Saviano I think he meant the times as in the position on the entire CD that each song starts - not how long each song lasts (if that makes sense).
+thrasher1889 That's true. Silver and gold isn't placed on the start of the song :)
Oh wow... I still have this cassette tape. But I no longer have a player set-up... I haven't listened this in decades...
Produkcija je strašna, koje radio, nisam baš gledao, svaka mu čast.,a o vokali, i prarateceim vokalima, Odlično.
The Great Adrian smith
Damn, I love this kind of music.
Best Leppard album out there
Great music! Thanks!
Wanderfull Album.
awesome...........up the irons from Texas
This is actually pretty good!
I'm sorry this album flopped Adrian, but for what it's worth, it's fuckin amazing :D
Imo, it's an underrated gem. I've heard much worse albums that are being praised to this day, especially in terms of music quality.
Amazing album!
Bryan Adams goes Glam Metal? :D Adrian is god!!
I see mostly 80's highway metal. Perhaps reckoned to clean by diehard maiden purest. However I love this album and I'm gonna show gratitude !
@@jonathanbarnes3061 I would say melodic hard rock but I liked the term "highway metal", it is always a pleasure to drive listening to this music
. Amazing rock anyways.
I had this on vinyl, I always thought it sounded so much like a film soundtrack very much like The Wraith with ozzy
The lion is a great track! Adrians voice is amazing
This it`s just amazing. I don`t understand why i didn`t sell
i agree. i have no idea why this album didnt do well? i have had this since it came out back when i was 15. adrian did a lot of these songs back in 1985 with basically this same band but nicko on drums. the bootleg is called "the whole population of hackney" amazing stuff. the band was called "the entire population of hackney". if you can find it check it out.
probably cause maiden fans were too dumb to embrace this sound..and AOR fans thought this was a maiden thing..but it was a great record
TheCLOUDFORCE yeah that’s what it says in the Maiden biography. It wasn’t heavy enough for maiden fans, and Bryan Adams and Journey fans weren’t going to buy it because of Maiden
I think its vibe is too eighties... I guess that since it was released in the end of the eighties it didn't go so well in sales. In my honest opinion, if this very same album was released in '84, '85 or so, it would have been a massive hit
Tks man, i love this album!:)
Very underrated AoR album by maestro Smith!
Excellent record takes me back
That piano part in "The Lion" sounds like 20 years ahead of it's time :P
Got this album on cassette. It's a great solo album. Check out his Psycho Motel albums.
i remember playing this all the time whenni bought it
This album works well, nice work all around.
Awesome Gem! Adrian Smith a great guitarrist and composer!
Increíble álbum!!! Adrian's vicie os fantástic!!!
This is probably one of the most underrated albums of the 80's, the very best music Adrian Smith has made besides Iron Maiden.
Because is not from the 80's. Just sounds like. Should be released in 1988, was perfect time for this record
@@davidetonioni This record was released in 1989 sir.
@@WarthDader74 you re right. I was sure about 1990 because I associated with Dickinson single release
Hello...un super album 🎸🤘, très intéressant, bien construit, bon chant... tout y es pour réaliser un très bon skeud ! Tank you Adrian. S.
adrian GOD of ROCK
This is pure gold
Adrian is a great musician......
Amazing record!
It's great to listen to it again ( I still have the original cassette but I feel lazy so I won't look for it 😄) it sounds very Californian and very 80's...
It's a masterpiece...
Maravilhoso !!!! Adrian Smith, reative este projeto !!!
holly shit , this is exciting!
Great melomaniac this guy
Love this album
Thanks for the upload Rocco Saviano. !!!!!!!!!! APPRECIATE IT MUCH !!
