Never played a Bach trombone, but I have played their trumpets, and have always liked them. Last time I played a trombone was in brass class in college in the mid-70’s!! So why is a trumpet (and French horn) player commenting on a trombone video? Because I think these videos are informative and interesting.
He Aidan, nice videos thanks. Keep 'm posting! What size MP do you use on the small bore? I primarily play the Edwards B454 bass bone with the Karl Hammond 20BL and 20BXL, a combination which works very well for me. I tend to struggle a little with my mp Denis Wick 6BS on my small (dual) bore set up. I suspect the rim is too wide for me. The sound is big enough but my lips wear out easily. Got any suggestions I could try out on my small bore?
You probably need a larger rim, and perhaps narrower- I use a Doug Elliot setup with a 3 size rim that works pretty well for me. I used Bach 6.5s before that.
Hey Aidan, I’m thinking of getting the lacquer stripped off the bell of my bass trombone. I just like the look and have heard it does good things to the sound (just based on my TromboneChat perusing). Would you recommend it? Is it something I can do myself or should I get a tech to do it? (My bell is non-removable btw if that’s important at all)
@@gearaddictclimber2524 those will have pretty thin lacquer. Removing it will be a bit of a chore and make a pretty small difference, I think. Most of what people say are talking about old horns, where the lacquer is quite thick and makes a large change when removed.

Nice! I figured it was from DJ when I read the title. Hopefully this doesn't get an update video in two months that you're selling it lmao
No promises!
Looks good! Buying a horn at DJ's is high up on my bucket list. You should learn 4th Floor Walk-Up on this!
Hahaha that's a bit out of my wheelhouse... Maybe in 15 years!

I agree, the case is awful. Especially for school.
DUDE, the getzen bass cases are painful, especially when you have to lug one 5 blocks to get to your music building from your apartment :(
I had to get rid of mine by leaving it on the curb. And it took like two weeks to disappear
@@AidanRitchie I remember a 3062 case giving me callouses on both hands from carrying it around

I've got the standard version of that horn

@@AidanRitchie gotcha, thanks for the help!
