When Ben joined the Fab Rat's crew it was a great addition. Ben is a salt of the earth Kind of guy.
He's more than that, he has an impish personality that I love. Their mother, Grandma Lolly is what I'd define as the true salt of the earth, but in a really good way.
@patriot8087 can you explain the saying "salt of the earth"
@@josemarron6159 Generally speaking it can mean respect for individuals who deal with difficult/demanding situations without any fuss or complaints as definition #1
Definition 2; (a christian definition) to promote and stimulate good growth of good things (comes from the Bible).
Definition 3; Something people did to destroy their enemies, rather than blessing them.
In the case of Grandma Lolly, she has been, and always will be a mother, is humble, has a good sense of humor and is NOT afraid to utter the occasional profanity and is just herself. That is, she loves her sons, still brings lunch, be it bought, or made, She also encourages play and loves her grand kids.
The fact that she runs the shack at Fab Rats means she gets to hang out with the gang a bit more regularly, especially since Grandpa Sherm (her husband) has passed on, I think last year. She, to me is the salt of the earth in a good way.
@@josemarron6159 (Matt. 5:13) is arguably the best-known example. To this day, people use the phrase to describe good, honest, humble people.
Nothing like waking up to coffee and fab rats!
Ya buddy
It’s the Sunday Routine ☕️
read my mind.
Великолепно 👍🙂✅
Amen!
Great to have a uncle Ben to learn from. Those kids are lucky to have Paul and Ben teaching real life skills.
The reciprocal applies having had experience....
Балдёж 👍🙂
Every time I hear Uncle Ben, it makes me wonder if he has a side gig selling rice.
Spider-Man would never manage to build the wrecker 😆
Oh yeah these guys are old school metal fabricating dogs, real good ol boys
When putting on tires we use a flat head shovel to pry the tires up to get them on the studs. We call it the "Back saver 3000"
I've done that flat shovel and a spade. Spade works better for me.
I just use a long screwdriver. Easy to manipulate.
@@OldSchool-ez4uvI use the floor jack pole, same thing though.
Lift with your legs not with your back
Look at ole Sean all cleaned up feeling good with the dodge going again we see ya with that ear to ear smile now….lol
It's good to have hunter back swinging the camera. 👍👍
When I did roofing with my dad as a teen, we would buy the hottest jerky, beef sticks, chips, pickles whatever the gas station had and see how much we could eat or see who would finish first. I miss dad.
That look on Bens face. I been there too many times. Walk away a minute then carry on. That's the thing to teaching them the real way to fix stuff. Thanks for dragging me along y'all.
Ben singing "Everyday I'm hustlin...." made my whole week!!!!!!!! Love Ben Cox
It is often missed just how many work hours get put into these 'little jobs' lol, especially when time lapse is used to keep us all amused and amazed at the same time. The knowledge, experience and workmanship/teamwork that goes into changing/adapting/repairing is phenominal.. I fully enjoy every episode of FabRats..
There's only one thing missing on your wrecker, and that's some outriggers at the back, because while stationary you're often pressing it down more than you're lifting.
Thank you for knowing the proper term.I said; "They need Rams to stake into the ground so it won't move"; but not realizing they'd "Wheelie" wasn't why I'd said this at their start.I thought it'd get pulled downhill from lack of weight.Good call.
I think outriggers were mentioned during the build. They said they would air up the bags to stop it dropping and outriggers wouldn't work because they need to be able to adjust the boom and move the truck while still pulling/ lifting. I certainly think they would be a great option for static pulls.
@@graememckay9972 Yeah and/or more weight on the front. Removable tractor weights on the front might help. Prob get in the way of the front winch though.
I though about that as well, but because they need to move the wrecker, I though to some removable "wedge" between the bed and the frame to stiffen the back while pulling only
Nice to see Landon getting more involved in the repairs/maintenance.
The last two videos seem to show the reasons why Rory doesn't like to use air lockers. 😂
Bleepin Jeep Cole said the same thing, but still went with the air locker cuz of the finance build
Thinking that too. Paul seems to have endless issues with air lockers.
@@om617yota8 And transmissions.
I have been running air lockers on my 88 Cherokee for 14 years with no issues. I wouldn't change them for anything. 😁
I do a lot of 4wding and the only people who have issues with their lockers are air lockers to many parts an seals to go Bad e lockers are king the only issue you will have is snapped wire but that’s an easy fix the only other issues with e lockers are people engaging them while still moving my current rig only has auto lockers and they are good nice simple design I personally prefer my old truck that had e lockers in it
But in short iv seen lot of air lockers have a lot of problems only ever seen e lockers snap a wire and auto lockers effect steering sometimes can be hard to turn air lockers suck to much maintenance an things to go wrong
Story time with uncle Ben was extra nutty this time!
Awesome stuff as usual..didn’t even recognize Shawn . It was crazy seeing skeeter with the caveman beard , I guess it’s required where he’s working now.
I saw Skeeter on their channel and recognized his face but could place him.
I remember seeing skeeter on heavy D's channel
Great to see more of Landon... he's a nice young fella, i like his attitude!
"Once it comes it's gonna go". Genius statement..
Tell Landon that’s some of that OLD MAN STRENGTH 😂😂😂😂😂💪💪💪💪💪
Hunter is also working hard - he's working hard to get ALL the camera angles! 😁😜🤟
I have to say, Ben is the most fun and exciting to watch. Ben and hunter make an excellent team.😂
LOL!!!!! Its great to get a massive Pepper buzz going!!!🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸 Temporary blindness!
Busy, busy, busy! New shop is coming along and it is gonna be awesome.
Dang near thought you had a new employee with Shawn being all cleaned shaven, lol
The young bloke Landon shows a real interest in everything going on, and he’s is getting some really good knowledge and experience, as parents Paul and Michelle should be proud. Cheers from down under.
Famous last Words @3:39 - "That's good for life!" JINX! LOL!
Live and learn...die and forget about it all. Quote from my wife's late Papa...hell of a mechanic on locomotive diesel engines...the big boy parts!
Making mistakes is a part of life that's how you learn. But reading instructions help keep you from making mistakes...lol
I love Ben's comment, cool as a cucumber, "ooh, that's got some fire in it"
*_" It's a Cox Family Tradition "_*
*HAPPY 4th of July Fab Rat Nation*
This gives new meaning to “Acorn”. Good to see Skeeter. Looks like Big D is feeding him ok. ;)
“Shes GOOD FOR LIFE……”….that belongs in the famous last words file for sure!😛😆😄
Seeing that "Make diesel $1.99 again" t-shirt makes me feel old. I remember in the late 90s paying less than a dollar for diesel. Wish I still had that 1981 Toyota pickup.
The way it happens not just the way it gets done but it’s reality most of the time not much but the important stuff gets done.
Being from Alberta Canada. Seeing Landon wearing a Calgary fire shirt was awesome and shocking! Also being a firefighter thought it was cool seeing something close to home on my favourite UA-cam show.
Great seeing Landon and Paul and Ben working together!!......Landon is on his way!!
I sure like these longer videos. I would watch you guys weld up birdhouses!
Thanks for today's entertainment !
Perfect timing, "want me to tell you what i just learned? Turn it to free, add the bumps, push 'em in to start 'em, and then you got it." As soon as you touch the truck the lights go out!
Every person in your videos has such great personalities. You all are refreshing! Thank you for the great entertainment and education!
Construction shenanigans would make great 2nd channel content. 😉
I can't describe how happy I am to see your boys working with you on shop projects. My son is 49 and I'm about to turn 79, he grew up in the shop with me and now is maintenance man in a production plant. Your boys are learning things that will last them a lifetime.
Landon- “Because your older than me…..” Now what in tarnation does that have to do with mounting a tire😂😂🤣🤣
On this Independence Day, as we all celebrate our freedom, I would like to highlight something your long-term viewers might forget about and of which your newer viewers might be unaware. It was not so long ago that you worked a job, a demanding job, and grabbed whatever free time you had to work your hobby and passion. Things seemingly were tighter for you and your family then (as they are for so many of us today - I'm as old as your dad would have been and I still work 7 days a week). You scrounged parts from your dad's barn, you brought home treasures from the dump, and Michele had a full-time job in addition to running a household and raising the kids. But y'all stuck it out and made your bones. You were able to retire from the other job and devote yourself to your interests and this channel. It looks to be paying off! You and yours seem to be thriving and doing fine. But you have not abandoned your values. This is 100% American role model stuff here. Be proud; we are proud of folks like you as well.
This is a good video and entertaining at the same time. Grandma Lolly is there, Landon, Ben, Sean, and periodically there's Paul! Now we can't forget Hunter and Jace. The Rat rod tow truck will be better than ever! Love the new shop and Michelle's office looks great.
Good things are happening at Fab Rats! Woo hoo.Til next time, take care, and we'll see you on the next...
First vid where that team looks 100% on point and comfortable with the camera -- foreman can walk away from the crew with full confidence that they don't need him (maybe better without him which is always the leadership goal)
The soft copper line broke the ring and pinion you say? Hahahahaha. Now that is some funny stuff. You must stuff soft copper lines in all your diffs.
I love seeing me some Sketter. Thank you for your time.
You guys really need a grandma to tell you what to do if not there will be chaos LOL!
Yeah Dad, your older than me. Family, nothing Better 😂
"Death by Salsa" from Pepper Palace. Just a tad spicy. Should be good entertainment for us. 😂
Landon, that's the best summer school you can get!
Ben is a genius! If good planning promotes safety, how can safety be first? Safety Second from now on.
When eating hot peppers, always eat ice cream after!
Then the next day when you are perched on the porcelain, you have something too look forward to, " Come on. Ice cream"!
Sean's definitely looking solid clean shaven.
17:34 What goes in hot, comes out hot.
You should adopt Casey's slogan, "Never said I was good at this!". LOL. Y'all still continue to amaze me with your skills and what you build. Your kids are so lucky to have a talented Dad and Uncle to learn from. Hope G'Ma Lolly heals well.
Psst, it's Grandma Lolly.
Hey guys just wanted to suggest closed cell insulation in the office for noise damper. Also try tractor supply for belts in the future.
Nice to see Skeet Skeet! He's looking good!
13:34
I love seeing the b.s. moments like this. like stubbing your toe, or losing your glasses on top of your head. Happens to everyone 😂
Slick as owl poop on the door knob, 2 flat plates so the ac compressor can be moved to the place its perfectly happy. No compromise.
I might use that in the future.
Morning Fab Rats crew!
Idk what’s worse, dismantling an axle or replacing a transmission 😂
Personally, I’ll tear down an axle every time over replacing a trans lol
I've never been in about axle, changed and rebuilt manual transmissions (plural) more than once...
Those MTVR's are beast
Oh wow. I am like, who is the new employee. Looking good, Baby-face 😆😁🤪
The rat rod wrecker is awesome
The split screen is new. Kinda interesting, not sure if I like it or not. I do know that I like your videos. Thank you for posting them.
Good to see Landon learning and doing some real work 💪
Doing it twice makes it nice, great show, really enjoyed it, nice touch with skeeter showing up, Utah officers going huhh!! Lmao😂😂 Happy 4th of July to everyone!!
21:07 wise words Grayden !
Welcome back Hunter.... You have been missed.... You always "liven" things up.... I wonder what part of Mexico you went to.... I came back from Puerto Penasco not to long ago...
No truer words were ever spoken, Graydon!
You have an awesome team there Paul and your kids are every dads dream, out in the shed helping, learning, becoming men themselves.
I cannot imagine the hours of editing time Michelle puts in. I have a small channel and I know the hours I put in to publish and edit. 👍
Always love watching your videos. One of the few channels I can watch with the grandkids , without having to watch it first 🙏🙏. God Bless y'all.🙏 As Always, Stay safe ❤️.
Good morning Michelle and Paul & the gang, back in my heydays when I was with the Oregon Army National Guard from 1981-1997. There was 45of us that went to Jamaica to fix Churches and Schools in February of 1993. It took do United States National Guard
Sorry didn't finish it took the United States National Guard to go in and fix a British Island and during that time we were having lunch does fantastic person bringing our lunch down here is carrying the Giant platter with fruits vegetables you name it it was on there and what I thought was yellow bell tomatoes ended up being ghost peppers 🌶️ I ended up eating 5 of them the heat of them was so severe that went in also had to come out
I like Ben's smile. You never know what he's thinking.
A$$ corn, lol. Ben is currently story time king.
🤞on the diff fix.......I'm addicted to Code Red.......... look at the dog's facial expression in the background, even he is wondering why you're eating that hot jerky !
Put a long pry bar under the tire to lift it back onto the wheel studs , like changing tires on big trucks .
Another fantastic video from you all at fab rats totally enjoy every video you put out on UA-cam thank you for the day's in the life at the Cox family at work and play at fab rats.
Story time reminds me of the movie Mallrats. Chocolate covered pretzels.
Love my freedom shirt. The fabric feels great.
Great to see the learning and knowledge flow! Cool visit from Heavy D, love that rig!
All you boys got your toys, get started working on Michelle's jeepster!!
If you sit down with tire on your legs you can lift the tire with your legs and bolt it up with your hands, my dad showed me that trick when I used to tell him I can’t lift the tire up when I was younger.
Not sure where the 4th is tomorrow but not here. 😂🤣 Tomorrow is the 3rd.
Is THAT a new T-shirt slogan I just heard at 1:38? "TIRE GOIN' DOWN" or at 2:12 "SEEMS LIKE WE JUST DID THIS" 😋 FAB Rats rule! We do it nice,! Cuz we do it twice!
I grew my beard when I got out of the Army. Seventeen years later I shaved it off at work and surprised my wife. After the initial shock (she'd never seen me without it!), there was secondary shocks each morning when she'd wake up next to a stranger. Started the re-growth right after that.
I wouldn't want to be in the same building when that ghost pepper made a re-appearance the next day!
Hope we’re fixing the hose that was leaking on the trailer job. Lol
Lol and I made that comment before watching the whole video. Never fails. Lol
Ben walking by and eyeballing the camera is hilarious.
Love y'all's content wish I could be a part of it all.
Sean you definitely look different. Not better or worse just very different. We had a dog that his hair would grow out so much that he looked really big and healthy but then after a hair cut he looked completely different and gooood looking. He is a legend around here. My wife the first time she saw me after I shaved off my mustache she first asked me what was wrong with me? Minutes later she asked me (standing tor to toe) what was wrong with my lip. She is very observant. 44 years later she is still amazingly observant. Keep on guys, loving it here.
That union in the copper line will be the next failure…
When yall were up on the boat, i seen the bus in the back ground and thought of a name......
"Rat Mover" or
"Rat Buslines"
👀 🤔 🤪
Hey, guys! Water does not help with chile pepper fire. Milk helps a little. But the best is--Limeade! Limes do something that makes the heat bearable; don't know what. Of course, a nice fresh margarita would be an acceptable substitute.
You should fill the Tyres with helium gas so they are lighter to take off at times like these. Plus you could have some fun when pressuring down
Um you do know the air isn't what is so heavy lol
@@paulrivers7248bet you smell your own farts
Happy 4th y’all! Git er done! 💥🏁🇺🇸 Winin!
No thanks scammer! Get a real job! Thief!🚫
FYI Rats got another scammer sayin I won. Crazy!
Generac 22K with a transfer switch and you wouldn't even know the power went out.😁👍👍
I have to admit, I was a bit surprised by Steve Carell joining the team. But he’s a great addition!
Ok, I need to get a name for that jerky. Love to try some super spicey! Great video, new shop is looking good. Thanks
Eaton E locker time far superior. Follow Rory he is the recovery goat.
No power where I live for a few days, storms, roads blocked, trees down. Hot and sticky, no breeze. Love the show. Have a wonderful 4 th. of JULY😄💥💥💥💥💥
Bummer. Hopefully you have a generator
A fantastic show guys. God bless you all.
