the problem with this shape is it doesn't fit Kai Havertz in at all. The 343 coincided with Havertz being injured and away from the team. Tuchel has since used the 3412 and 3421 shape to get the best out of Havertz with Timo and Mount running around him. I think that'll be the go-to shape for the remainder of the season and I'd like to see your version of those shapes because I am having a real hard time building a dominant 3412 or 3421. Or maybe even a version of this with Havertz as a false nine.
It's hard being dominant with this shape of FM as I find the gaps between midfield and attack is too big. But if you shift the CMs up, then the gap between midfield and defence becomes too big and playing with the line of engagement didn't really help, which is why I went with much urgent pressing and run at the defence to try and bridge that gap. It also then effectively gave us more and better possession
@@RDFTactics agreed, i don't think the game engine can really understand the nuances of this kind of system, which is a shame because it can be perfectly balanced if done correct.
I'd like to see Sergen Yalcin's Besiktas 4141 tactics, what he's doing is incredible. Now one believe that they will have a role this season in the league because of the leak in the player quality
Any 1 out of these 4 would be amazing. 1) Senol Gunes's Turkey. Least goals conceded in EURO 2021 Qualifying Groups and 2/2 rn in World Cup Qualifiers 2) Sergen Yalcin's Besiktas. Wasn't really expected to challenge for the title this season with the squad quality but league leaders at the moment. 3) Arthur Zico's 2007 Fenerbahçe which played quarter finals in Champions League with Roberto Carlos, Alex, Lugano etc. in the squad. 4) Fatih Terim's 2013 Galatasaray using 41212 diamond shape. Almost eliminated Real Madrid in Champions League and played quarter finals with Didier Drogba, Wesley Sneijder and Burak Yilmaz in their squad.
Superb work once again lad. As a toffee, what about Howard Kendal’s 1980s team? Would also love to see your take on Maradonas Napoli and/or Argentina ??
Thank you! I actually started a tribute tactic for Maradona. I used Napoli, 4-4-2 diamond with the Treq (Maradona) on top of diamond. I started before FM updated their game, after the update, the tactic fell apart haha will try again though!
I think that a Regista would fit the actual real life system better than a BWM because it also is rather aggressive defensively but has those characteristic movements that the BWM doesn't have (like always trying to be an option to influence the attack which Jorghinho also does)
Great video RDF! I have a couple of questions. In the analysis-part you said that Chelsea under Tuchel does not look to counter that much, nor do they look to close down heavily, instead focusing on retaining their defensive structure and kill the space for the opponents. Why did you then opt for counter as an in transition-instruction and use extremely more urgent pressing in FM? Would this not call for more of a split block, where some players have more closing down, while others try to hold their shape more?
The pressing I completely disagree and only used much urgent pressing because it got us on the ball much quicker and effectevly, which then gave us better possession. But also, it helped bridge the gap between defence and midfield. When I moved the DMs to CMs, the gap between defence and midfield was too big and oppositions AMC had fun lol but when i use DMs, then the gap between midfield and attack was too big, which is why I used much urgent pressing and run at defence, to try bridge the gap. The counter instruction, really, only the wing-backs and IF made counter movements. If you look at the graph, only the wide men actually make counter movements as the CBs and DMs hold their shape. So once the ball is won, the wing-backs should get further forward, so to the IF, but the AP on the right is a playmaker and is more likely to collect the ball rather than make a run in behind. Sorry for the long reply haha
@@RDFTactics As an historian I love a long reply. Thank you for answering it in such detail, and it surely makes sense. Did you try to achieve that compactness with either lowering the LoE or pushing up the defensive line one notch higher without having extremely urgent pressing on? Also, do you think a segundo volante would work in this kind of setup with individual instructions to tackle more? The reason for asking this questions is that I kind of struggle with the same conundrum when playing the 4-2-3-1. Having the double-pivot in the CM-slot makes it difficult to limit the effectiveness of the AMC, while having them in the DM-slot disconnets them from the players positioned high up the field, causing them to hoof it a lot more. Also, on Azpilicuetas-role, would it make sense to have him on a stopper-duty so that he does not hold his position? My thinking was that it could lead to him being more of a pseudo cb/full-back with a PPM such as "getting forward whenever possible".
Haha, It had to be done! It would've came earlier but Mrs just gave birth so trying to balance this and being a dad to 2 haha it's going well at the moment though, I can't complain
Hey, RDF! This tactic is amazing. Just one issue: I am currently trying this tactic with Brentford in the Championship. For some reason whoever plays as the Inside Forward is struggling and is getting low match ratings. Is there something I can do to fix that?
Thank you! And low ratings with a IF is a thing on FM. Unless they score, they don't really do well with match ratings :( But maybe try get him to pass shorter, the less they lose the ball then the better rating
Very interesting video RDF. It would be great to see the spread of goal-scorers to see where the goals came from. Very good defensive record. I bet there were a lot 1-0 wins for Chelsea. Let's see how the real Chelsea get on at the end of the season. :)
I can assure you the complete wing back is alonso, the left wing back, not the right wing back. Alonso does roam from position where he uderlaps or overlaps at his will, james is more reserved on that. As for Hudson Odoi he is now being used more often as a false 9 behind Werner. And i see the striker being played as a Pressing Forward on support. Deep Lying is not the right one i can assure you that because you see often Werner making runs in behind which the deep lying forward does not.
I was, for a u11 team if that counts haha I do have my level 1 coaching badge, when my little one grows up, hopefully that motivates me to get my other badges too
hey mate, i've downloaded the tactic but for some reason the other two alternative tactics that come in the download do not appear in fm21 when i try and load it. I just struggle to see how mount and havertz fit in this tactic as their not really wingers and i feel like theyd play better through the middle. Just want to make sure its the main on the one with the wingers and im not missing out on any other tactics. Because in the downloads i can see there are two other alternatives that i cannot view on Fm21..
I explained on a video, I’ll have to start explaining again because noticed more are watching now but when things stop working in matches, I change things. What worked for Chelsea sometimes is changing the pressing to urgent and ST role For these tactics, I try to make it ‘real’ as I can but also sometimes use things that work in FM. False 9 isn’t great so if I need goals, I’ll change to CF or AF

Is there ever a tactics video this don where it doesn’t work for the club? Man always win the league or end up on top 4 regardless of the club he does it for. Zzzz
There’s been a few actually. I do not set the tactic at the start and play every game without changing things, tweaks are made during games if I see something needs changing. And also, there’s about 5 tests where it didn’t go so well, it’s not a matter of just creating and uploading, some take days and days, just like this one. Hi everybody. I like some advice. I play with 2 inside forwards on attack. What striker role would be best with that?
I wanna see a tactical analysis of Jose's Chelsea vs Ancelotti's Chelsea vs Conte's Chelsea vs Tuchel's Chelsea and a battle royale between the four.
the problem with this shape is it doesn't fit Kai Havertz in at all. The 343 coincided with Havertz being injured and away from the team. Why do you think the striker didn't score many goals? Poor quality of Abraham or the system?
Yeah, I think the system built around the ST was effective for that role. I do believe switching roles, you can get more out him. Even possibly DLF(a)

Why does my cb in the highlights hold the ball then boot it long straight to their player every time and they go and score
