This truly shows how honest of a reviewer you are Walcom, you knew the M79 had potential and pulled out all the stops to try everything in your power to give it a fair shot. Not many people go through this much effort. Thank you for going the extra mile on this one and keeping an open mind.
@@dawreker777 I find "hipfire" a bit of a misnomer. It's often used to refer to the practice of point shooting (A term that already existed), and not actually shooting from the hip.
Add to that the fact even to this day you still can't buy a scar barrel that fits the stock barrels, and you have a recipe for inaccuracy. Seems to be hit or miss even with one. Mine seems very good though.
mine to i use the built in sting scar and to be honest standing back nailing a tree at 40 to 50 feet i hit it square every time. only if the dart breaks once n awhile will it come out funny. i think walcom does indeed have the early model not the A2 so i know those had more issues. since i got my blue one with using co2 stock i wouldnt use anything else. and i have a swift and ceda and 2 primes, modded nexus, mk 1.1, mk 1.2, aeon pro, stryker and so on. and out of all those my milsig rips for me. so thats really unfortunate he's having those problems. i love mine to death.
This is why I watch. Unfiltered unbiased reviews. He could've came on and gave a glorious review with all the stuff they sent him but instead was honest.
That expiration date is probably just when the tank needs a "hydro test" Basically just a pressure test and then it's good for another few years. Most places that fill them can probably do it, or point you to somewhere that can.
I always love the unbiassed review! Milsig has a so so reputation in the paintball scene, when they work they work great but when they go down it’s the end of your day playing. You tank is good for 15 years, but it needs to be hydro tested every 5 years from the manufacturing date.
The reason for the system being so inaccurate is because the pressures this cycles at are meant for paintballs and nerf dart’s can’t handle them. Thats the fundamental issue. No real engineering thought went into it and ended up being a flop cash grab. No amount of barrel tweaking will fix that fundamental pressure issue. The only thing that came close to helping was shooting EPP darts. The stiffness seemed to reduce the variance to “only” a 50fps range and didn’t cycle with any consistency below 300fps.
@@r46-b7eAt a guess, you'd need a two-stage system: Primary tank feeds a "firing chamber", keeping it at a lower, regulated pressure, and that chamber is what fires the darts.
@@watchm4ker thanks for the reply, but that's how every HPA nerf blaster runs. HPA tanks are far too high pressure. You need to use some sort of step down regulator to fill a reservoir for each shot. I fire my HPA blasters around 100 psi give or take. Standard HPA tanks put out around 800 usually. That would vaporize a dart.
Good for you. So many others were raving about this. Good to see the other side. I was almost sold on it based on its looks and hpa was very attractive, being a paint baller. Watched videos on mag dumps and was blinded by it. Thank you. To me, your video was worth it.
It seems like it would be a really good blaster but the accuracy and customer support you showed in this video is by far not what I’d expect for the price they’re asking for the blaster
Walcom I heard your frustration. I thank you man, you're doing a great contribution to the community, sorry you had to have such a bad time doing it tho! Sadly we have another money grabber to avoid out there...
Overall I believe the Milsig platform has a bright future but as it stands, it needs some tweaks to get to the game breaking level it could reach. For the amount of money you’re paying, the hassle of running/maintaining a setup like this, and the company not giving clear answers on the truth, I feel like these won’t be selling out anytime soon. For all intensive purposes a high output fly wheeler will Have the same results at a quarter of the price. It’s a real shame since the entire blaster seems to be of quality construction. I feel HPA has a future in our community but clearly it just isn’t quite there yet.
A few people in my group have Milsigs, and they have to do a lot of tweaking, but one thing they've learned is that you can't turn the regulator down too much or it ends up causing major problems.
I'm paintballer and used nerf gun maby 2 times in my life. That said: 1. If your darts are harmed after shot then bolt is harming your foam rounds. Maby its fixable idk. 2. Cut the nerf barrel down to 4" and then go and find tube that you can put on the barrel. Make it atleast 14". It can be plastic too. Now you have created 4" accelration and 10" stabilation. Use rest of that barrel to make perfect tool to cut your nerf rounds dead straight. Even small slope at the end of the dart round will make it go sideways with hpa.
I was so hyped and waiting for this video to make decision on buying one. But after hearing different stories and videos, even your live streams about the MilSig, I'm so glad I did not order one.
you know, earlier this week i was thinking "huh, theres that milsig short popping up again. wonder what happened to it?" and now knowing the truth i now understand. merry tagsbacksmas. hope to see you again in a more light hearted video. also i gotta see you and lutchathor play that hockey nerf game.
Thank u for this video. Since I have little contact with hpa, this shines a new light for me. I participate in online hvz and we use 4" targets at 16 ft for average accuracy and 2" targets for higher difficulty accuracy shots. That is terrible for 10 ft indoors. Rival is more accurate than that with a simple hop up tab. I have also used a Banned Blasters setup and the accuracy is quite surprising from a flywheeler. Anyway, thanks for this long awaited review of an unreleased review.
I believe HPA is the future of foam-flinging. I don't believe that HPA is being properly utilized in the hobby. We need a true HPA manufacturer like ASG, Wolverine, Amped builds, etc to get into the hobby and make something amazing for us.
Unlike another UA-cam video guy who will remain unnamed but came out completely biased against HPA in his review, I appreciate the honesty of your video. I own a MILSIG and have used mine several times in outside woods and parking lot games. I have really not had any major issues with mine. The last game it started being finicky but found out later that it needed to be oiled and cleaned out due to high amount of dirt from the woods wars clogging the system. So, I actually have had some good experiences with it. Firing mine, I put mine on full auto but pull the trigger like its semi-auto which allows for faster shots without full auto mag dumping. Accuracy has been actually pretty good too for some reason. I have a sniper scope and bipod on mine and I was able to hit a player with a well aimed shot from quite a distance away. I find that if you under power your blaster it will not work. It needs to be tuned up to fire at a higher FPS, which is why I use it only at outdoor open terrain events. It think at lower pressures you are going to have inaccuracies and worse jams like crazy. I don't know maybe I'm just lucky or I got one that wasn't a lemon.
i love my blue one its honestly amazing and is pretty damn accurate. and i use the 16g co2 but she rips. Also he said he got it early so i know they did the first ones and released a A2 version which i have and i love the thing.
I'm hoping it's not a Hop-up issue. Because those barrels you got sent probably are perfectly tuned. Maybe it's an issue with the piston punching the darts wobbling about?
My best guess is that the Milsig was sending out too much air to each shot, and the muzzle blast kept knocking the darts off course randomly even WITH a SCAR barrel which is supposed to eliminate that. But that's a complete shot in the dark on my part. Shame you had so many problems with it considering how those things look like beautiful pieces of kit.
Honestly it seems like something that's overbuilt and undertuned for the hobby. Part of what makes foam projectile blasters fun is the limitations and tradeoffs and this not only overcomplicates it but if it managed to actually work would then end up playing like a different sport. Simply put, dart tag's not paintball and if I wanted to play paintball or airsoft I'd play paintball or airsoft.
I think the point of HPA in Nerf is to have more diversity, play style, and possibilities. It's a reach to suggest that one hobby will rule out the other. The Nerf hobby has been progressing steadily when considering the impact companies like dart zone and other self sustained creators have made. It's not going anywhere anytime soon even if HPA was easily adaptable. It would help contribute ideas to intrigued hobbyists allowing for whatever possibilities. I would like one of these blasters if they worked but I'd personally stick to nerf because I prefer it and it would be overkill if I used this all the time and not a good investment if i didn't use it enough, it would be redundant. I would also like to try airsoft and paintball but personally the entry points for those are quite expensive, then again that doesn't mean I'll never try it. Nerf is still a good entry into the milsig scene even if you did want to get into airsoft or paintball because it's the same thing but cheap with some mild limitations and is also more youth friendly.
Dude , your the resone I got into this nerf thing. So much excitement you put your all into it.. so I'm like hmmmm there must be something to this nerf thing. This guy is going to drive himself nuts and he is still going. I'm like that with rc trucks.
I'm glad you got around to it. I was already skeptical about this product, since I don't really believe HPA has a place in competition Nerf, given the higher cost, the high FPS and the extra stuff you need to run it properly. We're not airsoft, and we're not paintball, those games great fun in and of themselves and are available for those who want them, but it's not Nerf. We're an accessible, low entry cost, more for fun than for competition game, and we should try to keep it that way. In a way, it's this thing's inaccuracy that is it's saving grace. If it were at all accurate, it would be game breaking, IMO. Strictly engineering wise, I get the appeal of marrying the range and precision of springers with the quick follow up shot capabilities of flywheelers, but I think that would actually create severe balancing issues regardless of the FPS cap.
We use a lot of HPA in the UK now. Mostly modded blasters or 3d printed ones. At Foamfest this year Frontline foam came over had some milsigs with them. They used then in the high power games that weekend and didn't seem to have any issues. A few of my team bought milsigs from them as far as I'm aware don't have any complaints about them. But yeah HPA isn't over powered. I've had a game where I took on two guys with supercore blasters, I had a modded Retaliator hitting about 180fps and I managed to take them both down. Nerf/foam flinging is about how you play not what you play with imo
What if you used rifling, but in a longer segment with deeper grooves, so it gripped the dart harder for longer? I know you’re just done with this project by now, but maybe SCAR barrels don’t work because they can’t affect the darts enough
Well that's awful funny considering that I ordered one of these I got it from Frontline and I've never had a problem with it the blaster one time went into safe mode on me so all I did is I just broke it right down and I reset it not hard to do but in all seriousness I have probably put $1,000 through that blaster and I have not had a serious failure or a catastrophic failure that could not be fixed within minutes and to this day it's still functioning I did hear that most of those three those pre-production models were not up to snuff but it is what it is mine works fine
@@andrewsprague8444 the thing I ended up doing the mine is I bought a Frontline barrel and because it's got jet threat on it I was able to graft a zero barrel onto the front line barrel and I use it on my m79 it actually improved the accuracy a ton I mean so all it needs really is a scar and I understand he probably got a pre-production model which he did cuz I know and he had issues just like everybody else but it is what it is mine works fine and I'm happy with it that's all that matters to me
I might buy one of these in July around my birthday because I recently bought a airsoft Hi cappa with a HPA tank so I will have the HPA to power it when I buy one
I can sympathize with the idea that the milsig could have been one of the best production blasters in the hobby simply if its actual production had continuity. There were a handful of other UA-camrs who had theirs working perfectly and boy did they make it seem that way. Yet the overwhelming majority was quite contraire. It was clear that milsig wasn't doing whatever they needed to do to give the customers something that was worth 500+ dollars and a long waiting period. Seeing as it's been years and they primarily focus on other types of blasters I doubt that this side of the hobby will see progress. All we can do is hope that someone else does the same thing but actually care to be consistent and not only that but deliver with a more reasonable price and a better informed back order system but honestly a working blaster would just be enough.
Hey mate, maybe it was the first run of these? I know I'm a couple of months late to the party but I own 2 and both of mine are accurate, to start with I strung the barrels and then purchased a milsig scars once they were available and yeah?!. Whether I'm was just lucky, twice, who knows but I love mine.
Can i please know what scar barrel you used? I’ve been trying to find a scar for it but there are none. The barrel OD is 19mm so i can’t find any scars that fit 19mm OD
this has probably been addressed somewhere either in the video or just off camera, but did you try rifling the barrel? (i mean this in the friendliest, most humble ways possible i genuinely want to see if that blaster can get working)
And that is why midst the 100 plus thousand of youtubers who do nerf blaster videos.... If nerf was a religion you would be a prophet of things to be argued instead of just preserving doctrine. IT is not the awesome footage of shopping, or hvz, or full wars to many of us watching your channel, but the tuff honesty that is given to us the consumers. Do not be hard on yourself. I know it’s not the best blaster… but this really kinda makes me want to see a bunch of grown adults run around in full military gear with colorful plastic nerf blasters
When I first saw this blaster I though it was super beautiful and was amazing After watching this video I'm just so annoyed that something so beautiful sucks so much I would've loved having this in like a silver with that extended barrel and handguns so I can do some sick John Wick stuff like him with his MPX
Ive got a polarstar regulator and an Amped airsoft line on their way (will also be used for my Airsoft HPA replicas so not money being spent on mine) that will hopefully improve the consistency of my fps. The FPS on mine is everywhere, I have decent accuracy with a 35cm Monkee Mods Barrel and a Spectre scar and adapter. The plan is to put the polarstar regulator on my tank, run the remote line and put the regulator on the blaster to wide open to see if that'll help my fps problem
Id buy one just to mess with if you want to send it to canada. I build custom machined blasters. Normally sringers but I have built a custom hpa blasters
Blaster shoots fine. He got an early model hence why it doesn’t work well like all the other early models. Its also a really quality built blaster and actually shoots as well as brads video shows in the A2 version that were since released.
Looks like a paintball marker... HPA / CO2 is great in theory however these accuracy issues are concerning. It is not surprising that manufacturer / agent can not make accuracy claims (due to nature of derts) however this does appear to be an open bolt auto? I care not to research, will just assume that it is. The relatively negligible mass of an HPA or CO2 bolt means open bolt should be "ok" VS real steel open bolt autos (fun but accuracy beyond 50yds was never really a consideration). A properly designed HPA / CO2 blaster should leave something like a Caliburn in the dust. $400 for a modded paintball marker seems a bit of a piss take, especially if the accuracy is flywheel level awful.
I thought this was an ironic title, expecting a review of the Milsig M79 Foam Dart Blaster, but I instead got a meaningful video talking about a man's many attempts to make an honest review video on a gun that somehow has worse accuracy than a M14 hip-firing. Curse you UA-cam for making me feel emotional!!!!
I would be too afraid of being shot by police or a concealed carry hero if I used that anywhere in public. With how much it looks like a kit AR15 and the arrests I've seen of people painting real guns to look like foam blasters, even if it worked perfectly I would hard pass on this, at least in my state.
Nah spectre is a freaking wizard, he designed and manufactured a semi auto hpa nerf paintball style marker for his university engineering degree, when it comes to hpa, spectre knows his stuff Look at the nerf supercore, the spexbz, or the bloody katana

This is a monster
Great vid, man. When i first saw this thing i knew it was too good to be true. Also, are you going to be doing any live streams in the near future?
Whenever I get internet back...
@@WalcomS7 EWWWWW, UA-camRS DON'T NEED INTERNET! *hug*
@@WalcomS7 Well, I hope you get it up and running soon, and also, thanks for making great content.
@@WalcomS7 miss the live streams too, man. Hope you get everything sorted.
What if you used rifling, but in a longer segment with deeper grooves, so it gripped the dart harder for longer? I know you’re just done with this project by now, but maybe SCAR barrels don’t work because they can’t affect the darts enough
I still prefer hand pumped air blasters to be honest. Something about having full auto without needing to use electricity in any way just kicks ass.
I mean they could have made a gas trap
Well that's awful funny considering that I ordered one of these I got it from Frontline and I've never had a problem with it the blaster one time went into safe mode on me so all I did is I just broke it right down and I reset it not hard to do but in all seriousness I have probably put $1,000 through that blaster and I have not had a serious failure or a catastrophic failure that could not be fixed within minutes and to this day it's still functioning I did hear that most of those three those pre-production models were not up to snuff but it is what it is mine works fine
Same i think they all got the early versions as mine with string scar has been pretty flawless and damn accurate.
@@andrewsprague8444 the thing I ended up doing the mine is I bought a Frontline barrel and because it's got jet threat on it I was able to graft a zero barrel onto the front line barrel and I use it on my m79 it actually improved the accuracy a ton I mean so all it needs really is a scar and I understand he probably got a pre-production model which he did cuz I know and he had issues just like everybody else but it is what it is mine works fine and I'm happy with it that's all that matters to me
That should put a hop up system or something to work this out
I might buy one of these in July around my birthday because I recently bought a airsoft Hi cappa with a HPA tank so I will have the HPA to power it when I buy one

The barrel OD is 19mm so i can’t find any scars that fit 19mm OD
i was so hyped for this blaster
Scam
If you haven’t already you should watch Bradley Phillips’ video (How accurate is a 300fps hpa nerf blaster)
Yep I watched his and was really curious to see a review from walcom to compare the 2 :(
this has probably been addressed somewhere either in the video or just off camera, but did you try rifling the barrel? (i mean this in the friendliest, most humble ways possible i genuinely want to see if that blaster can get working)
If you don't want them I'll take them gladly
Does anyone know where to buy this (I live in nsw Australia)
HEY WALCOM HPA SHELL STRIKE.....Need I say more
Rex rampage review?
...I bought one and shot a video on it and apparently never uploaded it...so maybe I'll re-do it.
@@WalcomS7 That would definitely be great, I would definitely watch that!
Yeah I just figured since we were mentioning cancelled videos… I would love to see it!
Was this pre- or post-BCAR development? It’s a shame they don’t work better.
It is very difficult to be a person who is not just giving an opinion but also providing truth against so many who give an opinion but are lying to get more swag. With every video you make keep being honest and thorough testing the things out there we do and do not know of. Merry Christmas to you. If possible this month get a krampus and santa claus sometime on one of your videos before the 25th.
CAN YOU REVIEW SABRE APEX PRIME, WITH A 30KG SPRING. THANKS
for one thing about HPA
remember the time when people were converting Sledgefires to be used on a HPA set up with 3d printed shells and stuff?

I feel like c02 blaster either work or they just don't
You can have the tank recertified once that cert expires.
no worries bro. someone has to review what people do to the market. and im glad its you. stay strong. feel free to post stuff even if its just to be the one who has to. because if not someone else does. and you always tell the truth. you sir. will be dug up in 450 million years and identified as a blaster sapien. the true king. burried around hundreds of blasters cradling his roughcut. lol jk dude youre an amazing human all around
great vid man
I know it’s not the best blaster… but this really kinda makes me want to see a bunch of grown adults run around in full military gear with colorful plastic nerf blasters
So....Captain Xavier? lol
When I first saw this blaster I though it was super beautiful and was amazing
After watching this video I'm just so annoyed that something so beautiful sucks so much
I would've loved having this in like a silver with that extended barrel and handguns so I can do some sick John Wick stuff like him with his MPX
Upgrading the regulator is a valid option in paintball, so I imagine it could help reduce the variation in velocity here too.
Will you use the sabre M20 over the milsig M79?
You sure it wasn't a bad O ring or a leaky valve?
Can you do a video on your arcade games??? Ik its a blaster channel but that would be pretty cool!!
Lookin good big man ;)
Wait, is that a legit ACOG on there? Big flex if so
Some cheaper one I bought at the airsoft place I bought all the tanks and stuff.
So much potential. But it does look cool.
Never did he try changing the tank output pressure of the tank itself…
Is that a trijicon... on a dart blaster?
It's totally a fake. I don't have the scratch on a real one.
Phantasy star online background music 🎉
your accuracy issue is the same with the paintball marker .
also it has issues with the paintball marker for leaks and such but its not a bad mag fed but it wont shoot accurate
Id buy one just to mess with if you want to send it to canada. I build custom machined blasters. Normally sringers but I have built a custom hpa blasters
If you are looking to sell some of the accessories, PLEASE let me know. I’ve been looking for the long blue handguard for over a year.
best way to run this marker/blaster is to run the smoll tank in the stock . avoid co2 cause the orings will die
So, amazing blaster that feels perfect and would be one of the best blasters out there if it just shot straight
Even then, it's expensive, heavy, and only for private field play.
Blaster shoots fine. He got an early model hence why it doesn’t work well like all the other early models. Its also a really quality built blaster and actually shoots as well as brads video shows in the A2 version that were since released.
To this day, looking to get the yellow version and I still dont see them coming back, at all. Got in too late ig 😂😂😂
We need an AEG mega xl blaster
It’s NAWT?
Comment to feed the beast.
Even an unmodified modulus has better accuracy than a milsig m79
HPA is the way!
Speaking of Maverick I would've rather saw a Maverick Tag Back lol.
If you don’t want them I’ll take one haha!
Burgerlorian 😂
I thought this was an ironic title, expecting a review of the Milsig M79 Foam Dart Blaster, but I instead got a meaningful video talking about a man's many attempts to make an honest review video on a gun that somehow has worse accuracy than a M14 hip-firing.
Curse you UA-cam for making me feel emotional!!!!
So at the end of the day the milsig sucks no wonder why I put it on my top 5 worst nerf blasters of all time part 2
the vibe i got off of just about all the milsig videos was dissapointment. the reviewers all seemed to be left wanting more.
Yo
awesome looking blaster
Day 1 of asking for a review on the scully V2.0 by LeBlasto
I would be too afraid of being shot by police or a concealed carry hero if I used that anywhere in public. With how much it looks like a kit AR15 and the arrests I've seen of people painting real guns to look like foam blasters, even if it worked perfectly I would hard pass on this, at least in my state.
sounds like the other dude was just lying about how he liked the accuracy so he could continue to get the sponsorship money and free stuff.
Nah spectre is a freaking wizard, he designed and manufactured a semi auto hpa nerf paintball style marker for his university engineering degree, when it comes to hpa, spectre knows his stuff
Look at the nerf supercore, the spexbz, or the bloody katana
If you'd like to donate one of those to a freshman NERF enthusiast/collector then I will gladly give you a tax write off and a hug. Cyber hug to precise but still....a hug.
