@@glendasolis8676 Glad to hear it. Minako has worked a lot with Tatsuro Yamashita (a big name in citypop music), she wrote a lot of his songs and sang in many of his songs as a backing vocalist. If you like citypop, I invite you to listen to Narumin and Etsu's album named "THRU TRAFFIC", I discovered this album a few days ago and I really liked it. By the way, if you have songs or albums to share, I'm a taker
In general listening to 80’s and 90’s Japanese songs are soothing while being in a car driving through a city, or just looking outside a window from a very chill spot in an apartment
If I'm not mistaken, I think this is really what City Pop music is all about. It's meant to provide relaxation for the yuppies during Japan's economic boom in the 70s & 80s.
@@Emanuel-wf4we I personally don't have a favorite Japanese music artist, but I occasionally listen to some songs. it's sad what happened to Yukiko Okada though, depressing...
please do some of tatsuro yamashitas songs! love space is so good, magic waves too! my favorite song from mariya is plastic love, the song played in this video! more great city jpop suggestions are, stay with me (miki matsubara), dress down (junko yagami?), watashinoshinjite (CINDY), and any songs from meiko nakahara. my personal fave from meiko is DEFINITELY go away! hope this helped with your music! 💖
@@dailyprank2018i know this is a 7 month old comment but in case you're still looking, i recommend Mai Yamane (my personal favorites are tasogare, wave, and in love) and Makoto Matsushita (my faves are love was really gone and September rain). If you hadn't already heard them, i hope you like em! :)
I didn't discover this song on UA-cam. My girlfriend (now fiancee, and she's japanese) asked me if I knew it when started to play in a karaoke, where we went three years ago, in Shinjuku. She sang it quite well although her voice is lower... Even so, I must thank her for taught me this classic, 'cause within a few months I was already immersed in the city pop (and my style has always been heavy metal...). But it's so addictive, exciting, melancholic and warm at the same time, purely from the 80s, a type of music that instantly grabs you.
If you want to know more masterpiece from my beautiful country: Stay with me - miki matsubara. Shiki no uta - MINMI. Dress Down - Kaoru Akimoto. I CAN'T STOP THE LONELINESS - Anri. Turn it in to love - Wink
I'm a huge fan of City Pop, Ill just leave a bunch of songs lol Stay With Me - Miki Matsubara Hito Natsu no Tapestry - Tomoko Aran Bay City - Junko Yagami Watashitachi o Shinjite Ite - Cindy Sunset Road - Reiko Takahashi Mystery Girl - I Re'in for Re'in 4 AM - Taeko Ohnuki (not so much poppy, but its so goddamn good, one of my favourites for sure)

The magic of city pop is that it transports you to 80's Japan, showing you how life is during that era through songs.
