Question: Do you patent your stuff? I feel like when you reach your final polished product that some massive company is going to steal and market your design. I mean your videos show enough cad programs and schematics for a clever person to reverse engineer your product.
A real life grappling hook has fairly limited applications tbh
bigal11289 No way dude this stuff is actually way too impractical for real world usage, but it's cool stuff to make. Companies only make products that can make them lots of money.
We specialize in prototypes of things that aren't commercially viable ;-)

+Gerad Berish, actually mine would cost more... he's using 6 jet engines, they're about $4k each. Relatively speaking the base cost of his suit is only $24,000ish + fab cost for the brackets. But the media went and said it was $250,000 so that's what everyone believes lol
Are you discouraged from his suit? Or has this motivated you more to achieve your goal with the turbines?

Hacksmith! I love you're stuff, man!! Thanks for replying! Just saying, there are devices out there that autobelay quite quickly maybe not as fast as your device though. And there are many teqniques. One you might try is having a helper to pull the rope while the belayer is doing the locking action. That way you're always locked and your belayer won't be losing his grip in case you do fall and the helper can pull as fast as he wants. Don't mean to be a critic just a fan!
+Jonathan Fairchild the gym has auto belays, but they're slower than doing it by hand, even regular climbing I can climb faster than they can auto belay :p

Put a giant, extremely fast winch in a backpack, and a harness connecting a grappling hook to the rest of your body, and you're basically spider man.

I remember bashing on this a couple weeks ago about the grappling hook because you didn't get pulled back up in the movies but now I understand supplies are limited and projects have deadlines my apology but I can see this graphing hook becoming really big
