The book is so much better but my recommendation is to find the AUDIO BOOK of this novel. Each chapter is narrated by a different actor. Alan Alda’s section is amazing.

Nice, I did that. Bought the novel but then ended up buying the audiobook. Really is a visceral feel to it.

Gotta second this. Having each story acted out makes it feel so real, like this actually happened. And yes, all hail Alan Alda.
I hope someday they adapt it into a TV series - but only if it's the right showrunner and producer. There's too much riding on it after the movie.
(FYI, I like the movie as a zombie movie. The only problem is they kept the title after all the production issues. There's so little resemblance to the book they should've just named it something else).

so many people hate this movie because it’s not book accurate. why watch something you already know is coming because of the book? i thought this movie was great and honestly can put it at the top of zombie movie rankings any day.

The really sad thing is that World War Z was a really great zombie book... And except for the name almost nothing from that book made into this film!

Your definitely right, as well I also think that the book is better than the movie. But you gotta think about it, the idea of huge hordes of zombies that stack on eachother and stuff is creative. Especially with how many zombies in the movie it’s more realistic since in real life you don’t see how many people there are until they want want you for dinner.

The doctor in the movie may sound fake to you, but he is correct. Sometimes what you think is something's most brutal aspect turns out to be it's supreme weakness. And
People in today's world love to disguise their weaknesses as strength.

In the books Jerusalem was luckily just one of the walls
    There's multiple walls in Israel
They eventually united with Palestinians to form united Palestine
Should've been united canaan tbh since they are both Canaanites

Movie recommendation: Shot Caller (2017) starring among many others Nikolaj Coster-Walday (Jamie Lannister you know) and Jon Bernthal. Family man Nikolaj makes a mistake and winds up in a California state prison, and once inside it's sink or swim. His time in prison is told in flashbacks, while we follow current day Nikolaj as he at the start of the movie is released from prison, and he struggles to complete a deal he can't back out from. Fantastic performances, and with a haunting score. The last movie that had me this gripped was Sicario (2015), and that's saying something.

Shame they took out the scenes with Matthew Fox from Lost (he was the main helicopter shooter during their rescue). Apparantly it was either filmed or in the original screen play that he & the mother would strike up a friendship of sorts while Jerry was off saving the world. Would've been an interesting side piece but not easy to cut that into a story with this kind of scope.

a channel 'roanoke gaming' talks about diseases in movies, one thing about zombie movies he brings up, our bodies only use like 40% of our strength when we're alive or else we'd break things, body builders can get a little higher, but if these diseases were real then that could explain why zombies are stronger/faster than when alive

Most people miss the signs of this movie and I don't blame them. Things are obvious...... There are people who pick more in ten seconds about you than this entire movie. I don't quite fall in that crowd, but I get a thing or two.

The second of 2 books by Max Brooks, out in 2006.
It became an audiobook in 2007 with some well known voicework.
It's pre-cursor was a fictitious survival manual The Zombie Survival Guide (2003), made for fun.
It has the feel like Night of The Living Dead (55 years ago).
If it wanted to, it could've been like the Resident Evil films.
But the suspense, drama and the emotionally driven action is enough
    without being over the top.
Brad Pitt in the lead and as producer really holds it down.
Marc Forster's vision of this is a job well done.
This is the highest grossing zombie film of all time.
There was an extended cut on Netflix and then it was gone.
    It deserves it's high marks.
A sequel was coming and then it was cancelled dued to production problems.
A 3rd-person game came out for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2019,
Nintendo Switch in 2021 and Google Stadia in 2022.
Earlier in 2023, it was released on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Set in the universe of the film about 4 survivors with locations in New York,
Jerusalem, Moscow, Tokyo, Marseille, Rome and Kamchatka.
    Loved the game to death.
But as an film series, it should've kept going.

Well, they stated early in the move that this is a super hybrid version of rabies. If you don't know anything about rabies google search it when it effect's animals and how those animals attempt to spread the virus. It's terrifying. Then imagine a super version of that virus in humans on mass and this movie plot makes more sense. 😬
