I hope you’re having a great weekend 🤗 Frank and I are enjoying our time on the road and I’m definitely glad I am still stocked up with food 😅 really looking forward to creating some new concoctions throughout the summer. See ya soon and thank you for watching 🙏🏼

Enjoyed this very much Amanda. You are NOT stocking too much! In the environment we are in with possibility of food, etc. shortages, you are WISE and fortunate to be able to stock up. It's smart to do it where you will spend less & get the most. You have a proven storage system and you ensure almost nothing goes bad. You are being prudent and smart and this will save you money, time and help protect you as you travel. You are very self-sufficient, something more of us need to improve upon. God Bless and you and Frank travel safely and enjoy yourselves. :=)
Well done Amanda on your food haul! It's NOT too much, you never now when you might have to stay longer in a wild camp, for whatever reason. Or maybe you'll love one of the spots so much you want to stay an extra week or two and you know you'll be ok for meals. I'm also a food hoarder. l live in a small apartment and every nook and cranny is filled with food or quilting fabric lol! Enjoy your trip, big hug for Frank.
I’m a food hoarder too! Some folks don’t understand our ways, I am soothed every month when I rotate the oldest stuff to the front of the cupboard 😂❤ it’s true.
I've always been a little embarrassed by how much food I like to keep in my pantry, but during the early days of Covid when the grocery store was sold out of everything, I found a new appreciation and gratitude for keeping a fully stocked pantry. You truly do never know.
@@tidelinetoalpine Absolutely!" Be prepared!" My motto. Its corney but true. Once a Girl Scout, always one. Ya never know. Not from fear. From being prepared! Thx for sharing your haul & what you have in your "pantry". Not hording to me! 💞
I love that you are prepared and have the perfect places for food storage without a frig. A lot of people think they can't survive without a frig and you definitely prove them wrong.😊
I love seeing what and how other travelers provision. I do wish I could find more dried sweet potato. I have a small travel trailer and try to prep before I travel, but I am in locations where I can easily and relatively inexpensively find goods. One tip I have for those glass bottles and jars is that you can put elastic hairbands (the thin kind with soft covering) around each bottle/jar to keep them from making noise and potentially crashing into one another on bumps risking breakage. I usually put 2-3 bands/ bottle or jar. I feel like doing that has proven quite helpful, after losing a bottle that really caused a mess.
Even if you weren't going up north, it's very smart to have a good food store to see you through any long term emergency situations. Going off the beaten track and into wilderness locations as you do, if anything mechanical happens to Truck, you have shelter and food to last for some time. Also, with unpredictable income sources, it gives great peace of mind to know you won't go hungry. I'm prepared for well over a year :)
I am a food hoarder as well. Have been for years. It came in handy during a long period of unemployment my daughter's family went through and again during the big home confinement we all went through. No judgement here. It sounds like a good plan, especially when headed to an area where resources are at a premium. Loved watching you put it all away😅❤ stay safe out there and you and Frank enjoy your groceries 😘 Hug Frank from me and may I just say, he is the most handsome, most photogenic dog in the world!
So, anyone who has food put away for an emergency is labled a Food Hoarder?? How Ridiculous does that sound. The unstable times we live in warrents putting away food for hard times. I'm Glad I'm a Hoarder. Been Hoarding for around 12yrs. now. Pretty well set for any emergency. Won't have to worry about "Wiping My Ass" or Having Hot Meals while other Unprepared people grapple for something to eat. Hoarding is a Good Thing!!
@@gailcurl8663 i was just reiterating the use of the phrase someone else said. I've been a prepper for 40 years. Hoarding i suppose has more of a negative connotation than some others. I certainly didn't mean to evoke visions of some television show or whatever I did to upset you so. Peace, have a beautiful day and may the pantry gods be ever on your side. 🙏
I think it is very smart to have extra food since you will be in a remote area with little access to affordable food. If you don't need the extra non-perishables on this trip, you can use them later. I am so enjoying these videos. I can't travel right now but can still tag along on your adventures. Safe travels!❤
I am so happy to see how prepared you are for your trip. Having what we need gives such a sense of satisfaction and a bit more security. You are in my thoughts and prayers for a safe journey. Thank you for sharing it with us.🥰
The thing is, you are not hoarding if you are using it. A hoarder would buy all that and then eat out every day. So as not to touch their hoard. You are just being frugal and smart. The food prices up north are very high. Stock is limited. More power to you and Frank, he is a gem, and so are you!
Well I'm happy I'm not the only one who stores food for a bit of security. My husband recently got sick and has been off work for a while and my food storage has been a blessing. I'm sure you&Frank will have a fantastic trip. ❤
Good food and food that is healthy are sometimes hard to find. Your food gatherings did not seem to be hoarding but rather judicious planning for the long haul that might cost more as travel can take longer. Plants and foraging for natural resources are pretty natural and knowing what to pick and not are the experiences of the people who live in nature. Even Frank is actively enjoying the treats of nature. 🎉
Oh yes he was so happy about his snack time last night! Plenty of foraging to come which will be greatly appreciated because my then I will be out of fresh food.
I also store up a lot of food in my home and in my van. It feels pretty primal to me. I like the term prepping better than hoarding. I store a lot of beans and lentils and other high-protein plant foods. It does save a lot of money to have whole foods at hand.
I can't believe I found your channel as travelling to the Arctic is on our bucket list. We have been camping in the Yukon (Kluane National Park) and can not wait to go back. I will be watching your adventure this summer as I need all of the info/advice I can get on this trek. The journey from Ft.McPherson to Inuvik is what causes me trepadation. Safe travels and let the adventure begin. 🚙💜🏕
I’m a big potato eater myself. Husband says I’ve never met a potato I didn’t like. You seem to be the same. Looking forward to your northern adventures.
You didn't mention water, so I'm assuming you are able to find water all along the way of your journey? I hope you and Frank have a wonderful time. I really love to see him retrieve his stick in the water. I have to think that exercise with the aid of the water must feel good and be good for his legs. He is so adorable. Best wishes!
Good idea to stock up before heading north. For security as well as economic reasons. Makes me think I should carry a bit more food when I’m travelling in my van, especially a stash of emergency non-perishables. Excited to see your journey unfold. Frank sure loves his chariot.
You should go through the dried food and eat it all yearly. I do the same and just went through my dehydrated hiking food and there were mealy bugs in all the powdered items. Also a basil leaf in each pack helps protect against this. But some things do go bad that you might think would not. It's good to take a look
You are not hoarding, you are provisioning. I like the pickles you packed. Kimchee, pickled okra, pickled beans, pickled eggs, cheese, Ritz crackers, and summer sausage would be great to have along.
Considering where you will be traveling, your decision to stock up now seems prudent. One less thing to worry about. I look forward to watching your recipe videos.
Beautiful views of waterfalls and flowers .. a wild orchid! whow .. I found your provisioning very interesting, and so kind of you to share. Unbelievable what you can store in your van. Happy travels you and Frank.
I hope I phrase this right... I have worked 60hr a week jobs and could not afford that much food. You don't need to explain away how well you are doing for yourself and for living your life the way you want to live it. It's not too much for YOU and that's what matters. I completely understand about extra food giving you that secure feeling. And living way out like you do, it's really smart. I'm so proud of you for taking care of yourself, building that income, treating yourself and Frank. These are my vanlife goals! Costco haul for the win! 👣
One can never be over prepared when it comes to the bush/country. Like yourself I too stock up a ton when travelling and at home in the country. Continue to have a safe journey and make tons of beautiful memories with Frank. So happy to be a part of your travels, thank you for taking us along.
Just another food hoarder here lol! I don't like planning meals and want to have it all on hand so I can eat what I wish. Also love prepping and dehydrating!

Youve inspired me to want to work smarter, instead of harder in the long run. You really know your shyt. Youre hardcore. I could write a book here. ❤
love how you organize things and I think you are a good planner and it is always a good idea to have more than not enough. Love your videos and love Frank and be safe on your travels
Loved, loved the amazing waterfall in the beginning of this video! I found the food purchase and storage fascinating, and I also find a certain sense of security in being fully stocked with food. I am stoked to be going to the Artic "with you" this summer. I am beyond happy that I will see and learn new things as you explore the area. What a dream come true!!
I recently pulled everything out of my cupboards to get rid of the out-of-date stuff and eat up the current stuff, then will re-stock. I was amazed at how old some things were :-(. I can see that Frank is so happy to go on treks with you in his chariot.
Im a bit of a food hoarder too! And i lover Terra chips. I developed a taste for them when i worked as quality control at one of the Terra chip factories, and i had to pull a bowl off the line every hour so at the end of the day i was always surrounded by bowls of Terra chips.
I found this very helpful and I thank you ❤️ Frank is the cutest and oh gosh by the way, I love your ceiling ! I haven't Watched You Tube videos too much lately and it looks like you did something different with your ceiling ... it is really pretty
Amanda, thank you for showing us your provisioning tactics. I'm like you, I like to have plenty of food in store for use. I wholeheartedly agree with you, it's more comfortable knowing you'll have what you need. Especially given where you're going. Smart shopping too!
Great to see you prepping for you and Frank. As long as you organize to rotate the oldest out first, this is a very wise move. Canned chicken and fish good for Frank.
I can't wait to follow you along on your summer adventures. You take us through the most beautiful places and the waterfalls OMGOSH. I would never be able to see these amazing places otherwise. THANK YOU SO MUCH! Have a blessed and wonderful trip ❤ love to you and Franke🌹
Pretty sure that’s Hixon Falls! I’ve been keeping my eye open for your van in Prince George, obviously I missed you. 😢 Wishing you and Frank an awesome adventure as you head North ❤
amanda, you are brilliant!!! especially considering your summer journey! loved hearing you will be hanging out near the arctic instead of a turn around trip! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 i know you don't have a refrigerator but... i just learned a new hack from a trader joe's produce employee! she suggested that i place a stainless steel spoon in my cucumber's package, container especially with the mini persian cucumbers and that it will actually extend their life! i still have a couple of "firm" persian cucumbers in my refrigerator and it's been 12 days since i purchased them. crazy right! i would think it would work the same with your cucumbers and maybe your zucchinis too! i also know for sure that if you wrap your celery bunch in aluminum foil it extends their life in a refrigerator for weeks! i don't wash the celery prior to wrapping but i have trimmed them! also i have wrapped several watermelons through the years in aluminum foil storing them in a cool corner on the floor kinda under the unused end of my kitchen table. and that extended their life by a week plus! making it preserved for 2 weeks plus without refrigeration! who knew fruits and vegetables like what's shiny! have a great summer. i hope you have a most excellent time! travel mercies! and continued blessings! 🕊
Amazing , Amazing !!! I really appreciate the fact that you are being very mindful of the cost and supply factor that the northern's have to to deal with and that you are coming in, self reliant, without imposing and taking what little they have for themselves. Very thoughtful. And WOW you are stocked !!! I could learn a few things from you.
Given how much Frank loves to chase sticks, I am sure he thinks it is perfectly sensible that you like to collect big firewood sticks and bring them home. What's a chariot for if you can't help your mom out?
Very interesting how organized you are. So ,ugh space in your van for the food storage. I can relate with food hoarding. My pantry is full because I have a fear of running out of food. 🤷🏻♀️❤️ can’t wait for your next video!
You have inspired me so so so much in just the few days I have been watching. I have always wanted to go out and live a van life- but have always paused. I decided this weekend was the weekend it would be started. I have an elderly red heeler also- a girl :) Frank warms my heart bc I wa sap worried about taking her with me, but I see now it can be done. Thank you for the bottom of my heart.. I cannot explain what you have done for me.
I walk in cottonwood park daily...I would have tripped right out if I would have ran into you and Franklin! Hope you had a positive time in good ol PeeGee and the Hoof❤🙃🫣😏
Never thought I'd enjoy watching a Costco haul so much 😂. Very smart planning! We spent over $60 on a small bag of dog food in Dawson City. Will definitely stock up like this for the next northern adventure. Cheers to you and Frank !
This was a master class in how to stock up and store two months worth of food for a long trip like this. I will definitely save this video and refer to it when I take my next trip, so thank you!
I am a bit of a prepper too! Lots of beans, lentils, rice, flour, canned tomatoes, oils, herbs and spices etc. I sure am appreciating all the things I bought on sale over time and am reaping the benefit now with so much inflation. Also I am in Port Alberni and our highway is closed down due to fire, with the only way in or out a logging road that is much longer and is only open to traffic twice daily. We are trying to let the truckers use it for bringing in food and fuel, but I don't worry about running out of food because I have plenty. I really enjoyed seeing what food you buy and how you stored it. Your storage is impressive and the potatoes in paper bags is the way to go. That waterfall at the beginning was amazing! Great video! So looking forward to seeing some of your trip!
Great video. I am a part time traveler but always have enough food to last a month. After seeing your plastic bins, need to rethink my storage. Currently have a small space so am using the flexible fabric bins. Not as organized. Makes me think back to when you were holed up in California during the pandemic. All you really needed was water, which would found. Had enough food to get you thru. Prepping is needed- especially when living this lifestyle, imo.
I hope you’re having a great weekend 🤗 Frank and I are enjoying our time on the road and I’m definitely glad I am still stocked up with food 😅 really looking forward to creating some new concoctions throughout the summer. See ya soon and thank you for watching 🙏🏼

Frank is the cutest and oh gosh by the way, I love your ceiling !
You don’t have a problem. It’s a nice feeling being stocked up. One less thing to think about. Great video. Thank you.
Can never stockpile too much food (or too much TP) LOL
Can't wait for your next post.
Great to see you prepping for you and Frank. As long as you organize to rotate the oldest out first, this is a very wise move. Canned chicken and fish good for Frank.
Loved to see your provisioning Amanda. Definitely a required skill when prepping for an extended trip. Safe travels for you and Frank, best wishes!
Wishing you and Frank an awesome adventure as you head North ❤
Awesome. Would love to see some recipes of what you make from your stash 😁
I really enjoyed seeing how you do your food. I've always wondered about it. I love how you live!
Frank is so adorable. He is a greT swimmer You take such good care of Frank ! Happy travels to you & Frank this summer !
amanda, you are brilliant!!!
especially considering your summer journey! loved hearing you will be hanging out near the arctic instead of a turn around trip! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
i know you don't have a refrigerator but... i just learned a new hack from a trader joe's produce employee! she suggested that i place a stainless steel spoon in my cucumber's package, container especially with the mini persian cucumbers and that it will actually extend their life! i still have a couple of "firm" persian cucumbers in my refrigerator and it's been 12 days since i purchased them. crazy right! i would think it would work the same with your cucumbers and maybe your zucchinis too! i also know for sure that if you wrap your celery bunch in aluminum foil it extends their life in a refrigerator for weeks! i don't wash the celery prior to wrapping but i have trimmed them! also i have wrapped several watermelons through the years in aluminum foil storing them in a cool corner on the floor kinda under the unused end of my kitchen table. and that extended their life by a week plus! making it preserved for 2 weeks plus without refrigeration! who knew fruits and vegetables like what's shiny! have a great summer. i hope you have a most excellent time!
travel mercies! and continued blessings! 🕊
If you buy the oils for the repellent spray buy the food grade ones they can be used for many things then.
Very impressive and informative! You are definitely well prepared and have done this before! 💪👍
Have you ever considered a cargo rack for your van? Mounts in your tow hitch socket. Allows for about 12 Sq ft of in van free space
Much love to You and Frank!n
Amazing , Amazing !!! I really appreciate the fact that you are being very mindful of the cost and supply factor that the northern's have to to deal with and that you are coming in, self reliant, without imposing and taking what little they have for themselves. Very thoughtful. And WOW you are stocked !!! I could learn a few things from you.
This was seriously impressive. Nothing wrong with being prepared! I don't think you have a problem, I think you're very smart. I admire you.
Thank you for sharing. I seem to do the same thing. I would rather have too much food than not enough. Drive safely :)
Those mosquitoes were horrid. I hope the thermal cell kept them away when you got it going. Frank will love his Greenies. Safe travels.
I really liked your food choices! Great items for long term storage. :)
I walk in cottonwood park daily...I would have tripped right out if I would have ran into you and Franklin! Hope you had a positive time in good ol PeeGee and the Hoof❤🙃🫣😏
Great video on food needed and storage. I got those oat dark chocolate hunks...hope you have strong teeth! Safe travels!
Great Video... keep up all the great travailing... Love from Australia, oh and my Aussie mate Frank
Never thought I'd enjoy watching a Costco haul so much 😂. Very smart planning! We spent over $60 on a small bag of dog food in Dawson City. Will definitely stock up like this for the next northern adventure. Cheers to you and Frank !
No doubt. Truck House Life “took us” shopping up in Alaska, and I was shocked to see a jar of mayonnaise at over $19USD !😮
Love the realism, Amanda. You truly are a Tetris Master. Thank you for sharing your journey ❤
