    I have been playing D&D in some form or another since 1979. You have managed to break down how to play D&D into the most easy to digest pieces I have ever seen. I find this very welcome as I play games with my children who really need a simple explanation that keeps their attention. Keep up the excellent work! By the way your camera presence is very good, don't sell yourself short! Your crafting videos are also very good, and I think most novice crafters will find something of value in them. As far as what I' like to see? A download of your character sheet! I love the simple yet concise nature of it! I noticed that when you did the character creation video you did not really address character races or special abilities. That might be worth revisiting.

      The download is coming. So are character races. Do you want me to discuss the racial bonuses or my thoughts on how to role-play elves, dwarfs, etc?

    • @dwightgrosso5481
      @dwightgrosso5481 6 років тому +2

      Well both would be pretty cool! I think how you role play races has more to do with how a campaign views them as an overall guide, but really a creative player can come up with just about anything that is fun.

    Really like your approach to reviews honestly. It's not just someone who has read the book, but someone who has used it at the table and knows it and that is what really matters for our hobby.

    I just found this channel and wow. Instantly it's jumped into my favorite list. Great content and I like how you present everything, Professor!

    Hey Professor, I'm currently working my way through all of your videos. You're super inspiring and have illuminated make of the issues I struggled with in my games. GenCon "50" ruled, that was my first GenCon, I now have plans to go every year! Thank you for all your wisdom!

    Epic, this was a great year by a great man. This is definitely my favorite dnd channel. Of all the channels I’ve seen, this one does the best at really breaking things down and giving really great advice!! Thank you PDM!

    Your idea of illustrating DM tips with your minis and scenario is wonderful!

    You had already recommended to me that I check out your crafting videos, but I admit I didn't bother until I watched this Season 1 Recap. I assumed that the crafting videos would be too expensive and difficult to implement at home (I'm not a skilled crafter). Since watching this video I've now started enjoying you crafting videos. Next weekend, my wife and I are going to make your dungeon tiles! :)

    Love your channel Professor. I would love to see some more insights into how you come up with scenario and adventure ideas. Your insights into player types and the 3 parts of a good story were awesome but I'd love to see more about designing stories and adventures.

    Not a natural? You're joking! This stuff is Gold. I would like to see more of your scenarios, I love how you intersperse those into the terrain buildiing sections which I might otherwise skip as I play online unfortunately but its the best our group can now manage. Its a lot of fun I found to watch the crafting vids too nonetheless.Yes I know this is a 2 year old recap vid but hey, I will have to reiterate this sentiment in more recent vids as I get to them too! Personally I would love to get my paws on your notebooks...

    I do really like these videos. You’ve given me a lot to think about. I’ll have to show some of the tiles I’ve made, once they’re done.

    I'd love to hear how you eithert prep your sessions or design your encounters for your games. As a fellow DM I love learning new techniques to this. Great work on the channel so far, as a pretty new viewer I've been really enjoying myself :D

      I agree. A DETAILED walkthrough of designing encounters and prepping game sessions seems to be lacking in this space. I've seen some videos that attempt to do this, but it's a mile-high view. Details are what make the world turn. As a DM always looking to up my game, I'm always interested in seeing how other DMs prep their games and design encounters.

      Agreed. Still hoping for a full video on your notes system for your sessions. You had a short teaser (hand drawn notes on yellow paper) but what you put in, what you leave out, tools you bring to each game, and your over all philosophy of print vs electronic notes, prep vs improv, etc would all be terrific.

      I thought episode 3 on Story Structure was pretty detailed. Do you mean, like, watching me mapping out the adventure and listing the monster stats?

    • @DUNGEONCRAFT1
      @DUNGEONCRAFT1  6 років тому +2

      Hey, Will! I hand-write some stuff and put other stuff on computer. You want a walk through of my DM's notebook? I'm afraid it would be boring, but if that what people want, I'm game.

    • @ForrTheXP
      @ForrTheXP 6 років тому +1

      Exactly, I think the best way to really do it is a real prep session for a game you need to prep for. This may strike as worrisome because you wouldnt want your players to have access to spoilers. Well the solution to that i think would to wait a couple epusodes after the session is ran then release the prep video and a DMs notebook flip through would be awesome too!

    Hi, I think that your crafting and ideas are good and different for D&D, I by chance only came across Runehammer, Drunkens & Dragons Room Design last year, his idea of a room DC for all your checks is great, even better are his battle boards, keep up the good work Sir

    I'm a fairly new player and our family DM, and I'd like to see a video about metagaming. That word is thrown around in videos and podcasts without explaining exactly what it is, why it is bad, and what a DM can do about it.

    Late to the party here. Really dig your vids. maybe do a video as to how to deal with intelligent magic items in a campaign like Blackrazor, etc?

    Lol the saddest excuse for me not buying too much is “you can’t find players to come play anyway so why waste the resources”
