Back in 1999, my stepbrother and I were 13 years old. We were at the mall with my dad, and he told us to go find my sister. So we went by a couple of places, then we decided to go by Victoria's Secret, but we were both too embarrassed to walk in there. So we started standing on our tippy toes to see if we could see her in there. As soon as we started doing that, an old lady came walking past us and said, "Perverts."
He has a point lol I’m a 90’s kid and back in the day the mall really was more full in the afternoons when school was out. Now these days malls are so empty and sometimes almost sad looking lol
i worked at the Mall Of America in Bloomington for 12 years in security. i ate nothing but bacon, eggs, steak, shrimp, corn, cheese, butter, hambugarm, chciken, cheese, butter, hotdog
That sounds like a dream job, all of the chics hot asses walking by all day… my god man… it was bad enough I was a bouncer at a club in Ann Arbor with all of the hotties everywhere but it was always pretty dark in there with crazy lights…. Now at the MALL OF AMERICA is a whole different awesome thing
Our mall had a store called World of Science that sold science toys and was kind of a mini museum because they also sold specimens. I loved that place so much. I’d hit WoS, Spencer’s, Hot Topic, Sam Goody, and Walden Books. Also, can’t forget about the mall arcade!!!
I’m 42 and grew up in California, this is probably the most relatable thing I’ve seen in years😂I jumped off the couch yelling when he brought up KB toys and sbarro. But what about hot dog on a stick, orange Julius or hot Sam? No footlocker? No Payless shoes? I could go on and on 😂
Malls in the 80s were the shit. Cherry Hill Mall,NJ was bangin' The times Theo and Blart are reminiscing about are the 90s start of the decline. A slow death. I worked at Echelon Mall in 91 to 93 at Allied Hobbies store pre Hot Topic etc. Trains, skateboards and D&D shit. Hooked up the Mexican dudes at Sbarros across the walk with board wheels, trucks and hardware and they hooked me up with all the pizza and steaks I could eat. Good times.
The cell phone and internet ruined the mall forever. The mall was a place the place people would meet at before cell phones . Arcades too back when arcade games were better than the ones you could play at home. and obviously for the department stores its all online these days. People are lazy. Its great for dudes though because we dont have to even go to the mall anymore, for any reason. Everything you can get or experience in an old school mall you can now get at home, with no hassle. It was a cultural phenomena back in the day though, the mall. In the 80's and 90's . People grew up in the mall. Back then there wasnt nearly as much security in malls either. This was pre mass shootings days, so kids and teens and anyone would just hang out at the mall all day long and it wasnt weird. No one would bother you , just live in the mall if you wanted to.
ESPECIALLY all the phone zombies that wonder around the mall now blocking everyone. Seriously why did they come to the mall to stand around on their phones???
NaZionester 75% of Europeans & Descendants R rotting to the core! Look @ the NaZionester Roman, British, US, French, Germany & rest what they have done in the world! Eg: Palestinian 🇵🇸 people etc!
Do you remember a store in the mall called GADZOOKS ? Holy shit, EVERYONE I knew bought crazy clothes there because I was in my late 20s smack in the middle of the best era for clubs and after hours and living in Ann ArborMI metro Detroit area and it was fkn awesome back in 99-2002. GADZOOKS was the place that always got in some new crazy shiny sparkly shit the girls would wear, and I hade some wild leather/pleather pants with some freakin platform style boots from ANOTHER great mall SHOE store called “ALDOs” God I miss those days
Hot topic brings back memories. I remember wearing a spiked collar I bought there and got kicked out of the mall for wearing it. Like I just bought it here….
Yes, for those who didn’t know Abercrombie and Fitch had to deal with the lawsuit because they were very open about not wanting certain size people to wear their clothes when I worked there they only went up to a size 10 and they only had about five of those sizes for women They also didn’t make anything in black. And to think they started as an outdoors company I’d like to know a little bit more history on them because I have the gist but I’d like to know how they transitioned from outdoors to fashion and I’ve never looked it up and think about it. I’m kind of disappointed in myself for thatbecause they were a camping and hunting and hiking type of store and they pull the full 180
The mall used to be so sick we’d go there and hang out for hours, see the other kids from school, get free samples, never buy anything. Also hot topic was the spot for dirty little metal head kids and the folks that worked there always seemed super hardcore. I went to my childhood mall a year or two ago and was just really bummed out. It’s so dead, the times have really changed.
Man back in 00s the mall was the hang out spot the arcade, movie theater, hit topics, Spencer's and then now all of a sudden it's dead everyone moved out of the mall Spencer's, the Disney store, hot topics, bed bath and beyond leaving the mall nothing and no one going in anymore
Spencer Gifts was the best...wild stuff in there to posters of your favorite band, oddities and then wild sex aisle that you'd get in trouble even peaking down as a kid lol
K.B Toys was my brother and I’s shii. Burlington coat factory was Right in front of it, convenient for mama. I miss Ontario Mills in the early 2000’s. Had a skate park inside too, my nana used to take me in there and we’d just watch the skaters do their thing lol
00:13 I never noticed on your bookshelf the book Extreme Ownership....my work bought the entire company that book...I'm not ashamed to admit I never even cracked it. It's just chillin on my bookshelf.

LOL
Did you ever find your sister
Plot twist
She was in a Radio Shack
I love the ethnic breakdown of the mall ecosystem
Same here lol
this is what the people need
Bro, he started with " mi gente" and then said, "brothas & sistas go "
He has a point lol I’m a 90’s kid and back in the day the mall really was more full in the afternoons when school was out. Now these days malls are so empty and sometimes almost sad looking lol
This whole online shopping system has ruined everything.. 😡The malls were where friends and families could spend quality time and socialise.. 👍
Now days most malls ain’t letting no kids in without a Guardian
They’re either going super high end with fancy restaurants or they’re going swap meet status
For me, malls were at their best in the late 80's / early 90's. I sincerely miss the mall vibe back then during the Christmas holiday, the most.
“Am I a pedophile or a medium?” 😂🤣😂
💀
I can’t believe they didn’t mention Spenser’s 😂😂😂
I came to see if anyone said that. Spencer's had like everything....from cool movie dolls n figurines to things no one under 18 should ever see lol
My mom's favorite story of my whole life was me walking up to a bosom bust and sucking on it as a toddler. She told everyone well into my 20s.
I went in a Spencer's this year bro I was traumatized
This is the most American conversation I've ever heard, lmao. 😂
“People that would eat their parents if you gave’m a half hour!” 😂😂
This man’s passion for malls is amazing
I’m Mexican and the sees candy was so accurate 😂😂😂😂
Loved this guy.
Stoner Paul Blart.
I would think security guards get drug tested but this dude looks like he just gets baked and walks around the mall all day 😂
i worked at the Mall Of America in Bloomington for 12 years in security. i ate nothing but bacon, eggs, steak, shrimp, corn, cheese, butter, hambugarm, chciken, cheese, butter, hotdog
Faaat

"Mexicans love sugar right"

This guy did a good job. Most people would freeze up being on this show and on camera for the first time. I would have a full blown panic attack
Sharper Image was our Elon Musk 💀
This guy and Theo got great chemistry
I was at the mall the other day. If you do a whole lap you get pitched by all the middle of the mall vendors, especially if you’re with your woman.
10:20 “Am I a pedophile or am I medium?” 😂😂
Damn, Theo is on fire
Tell him to stop drop and roll
that look in the dudes eyes when he dropped that Wetzels Pretzels line hahahahhahahaahah

Theo Von Clips, You're the best! I subscribed because I love your content!
from trump to mall cop, only Theo.
As a native New Yorker, When Theo said that Sbarro was a lot of people’s first taste of Italian… that literally broke my heart 😢
Makes me think of my grandma when we would walk the mall and get a slice of pizza or an orange julius.
Malls in the 90s and early 2000s was fire
7:52 theo couldn’t help that impulsive mansion🤣
Puts the lotion on the skin haha
Man the lotion talk was hilarious
Elon Musk was born in a Sharper Image lololol.

I've never been to Disney World or Disneyland, but the Disney Store in the 2000s was good enough for me. SHOUTOUT TO GOLF MILL!!
Former FYE employee. Pretty spot on.
Ontario mills mall is always packed
Bath and body works 😂

I like the regular guest on your show vs the celebs imo
Mall food mukbang
Social media has ruined so many fun things we used to do. Nowadays kids only want to sit at home and play online games. It’s not sustainable. 😢
Anchor Blue lol everyone had that cologne when I was in middle school lol
Mrs.Fields brownies 😩
No mention of those new wave stores like CRYSTAL VISIONS???
Mall weed is my last resort but always reliable when in need.
Trump. Then a mall cop. This podcast is gold.
“Let’s go to the mall, today” if you know you know
Wetzels pretzels are so bad for and sooooo dang GOOD
Fun fact: in Latin America we still get the old people getting together in the mornings at the mall. It’s ritual
00:13 I never noticed on your bookshelf the book Extreme Ownership....my work bought the entire company that book...I'm not ashamed to admit I never even cracked it. It's just chillin on my bookshelf.

So many malls have closed here. It's a shame but they just don't get the business they used to. I loved Spencer store.
Every other comment is different people saying the same thing. On all of Theos recent uploads. Wild lol

I live in Minnesota and am curious as to which one he is talking about. Mall of America? Southdale? Ridgedale? Rosedale?
FYE had the best prices on skull candy earphones😅
Baybrooke mall had the best Disney, Sanrio, and WB stores
This guy reminds me on an ICP dude
