"Every chef should have the artistic freedom to express themselves through cooking beyond their ethnic cuisine" is a quote for the ages
Twitter/X, Tumblr, and Reddit would try to find something 'problematic' in that but fuck 'em, let's eat.
@@SuperCosmicMutantSquid
And the fun thing is, there's a good chance every site will find a vastly different thing to complain about
@@SuperCosmicMutantSquidthey would say “erm, no whites are allowed to cook this! Peace and love! 💕” and not realize they’re being racist
More like autistic freedom oop
@@Quantum1244 No, what they'd say is, "talk about the history, and don't pass it off as your own". And your reductionist attitude toward an entire group of people is pretty racist.
Not only hugely insightful reviews, nice videography, an above-view face reveal hint but also trying out recipes in one single video?? We're being fed
bro went from doing a full on review of doughnuts from 4 different shops and then two different favorite nut recipes in a single video. We're being fed.
Looks like it’s us who will be beating it on the couch this time
wheres the face reveal
@@hanaharris7533 6:55.

I don't normally comment, but I tried the mochi donut recipe because my cousin has celiacs and my family has been struggling to find really good gluten free desserts. It was fantastic, and she loved it which made me happy, so thank you for sharing the recipe.
👇who thinks futurecanoe is the best food content creator?
WOOOOO
Not me
He may not have the best looking food and the best tasting food but atleast he show us what actually happens
ME ME ME 🖐🙋♀️🙋♀️🫶
Tiean out of tiean
I follow many food/cooking UA-camrs but only FutureCanoe i actually connect to in a way I see a content creator as a full human being i can relate to. Not overly polished or edited and jokes you can hear from friends in the wild. An upload makes my day every time.
You should watch Adam Ragusea, very raw personality, and is very open as a person, especially on his podcast.
Really? Adam Ragusea is a wild suggestion as a "for fans of future canoe" recommendation. I can not stand that guy, he is so arrogant and really weird towards his wife in their q and a videos.
I would recommend japaneat for those that love our radioactive chef.
@@diodora2381Ragusea comes across as being extremely self-important, and has been getting less and less tolerable to me over time.
How about Ethan Chlebowski. His recipe are really insightful I think. Though the video is quite long since he researched on a lot of different combinations. But if you try his recipes. They are good
Hey guys just thanking you for the recommendations, I appreciate your replies and gonna check them out personally.💛👍🏻 And each people have different feelings for different UA-camrs since they are people we are people and we don't click with everybody. Eat some good food today ya all.
dude, I gotta be honest: I really like cooking and baking but a lot of things intimidate me especially the way every creator makes everything 100% perfect looking with fancy stuff. But watching you gave me a lot of confidence to just try and do whatever I want. The dumplings I made didn’t look perfect but they tasted good. And you really help me with not feeling bad about substituting ingredients to what I have at home! Awesome vids dude, maybe i’ll make donuts next!
Creators have the advantage of not having to show every screw up that lead up to the perfect shot. If you ain't messing up, you ain't cooking lol.
@@cycotyk189 yeah definitely - some of my best things went through trial and error. I mean, messing up the recipe really helps understanding what ingredient does what,,, and how to improve the recipe and get what you want in the end!
The first time I made donuts, I did a brioche dough, fried in lard. Shit was a life changing experience, I had to sit down and take a quiet moment to myself.
Your hands are weirdly pretty

i didn't know that mochi donuts were a thing, but ive been putting mochi flour in my bread for chewyness for a while and its amazing so i can see how it would make an amazing donut
oo. i have not heard of that before. does that make any other significant changes to the bread? like, does the mochi flour stop it from getting a crunchy exterior?
and how much mochi flour are you using? are you using it mainly, or are you substituting parts of the normal flour?
Ditto the above comments. I make a lot of bread at home and also have glutinous rice flour. What I do?
come back and answer us 😭
oh hi😅 so i dont use recipies exactly. but adding sugar and whatnot makes the bread softer, but less chewy so i would just start chucking in a handfull or so gradually. i'd say about 2 parts all purpose flour to mochi flour. use for any soft bread and it gives it a toothsome quality. I do boules in a dutch oven
The Circle of Balls shape is very common for donuts here in Japan, popularized by Mr. Donut. Probably why they shape them that way. You can rip them apart very easily and it makes them easier to share.
I'll give that transition with the dough an 8.3 out of 10
Do more transitions ❤
I got an ad exactly in the middle of that dough transition

Custard filled are my favorite. Now I can't help but wonder how Mah-Ze-Dahr pulled off that custard-filled donut with a hole, because it seems like a dream come true
Probably did something similar to eclair dough and piped a circle instead of a line
@@nerl7473 i imagine piping a circle would be hella difficult though
He finally got his cheese pull with the chocolate donut.
As a Canadian I appreciate the Tim-Bit mention
I second this
I was just rewatching your old videos at 3:00 in the morning, and here's a new one.
Thank you
In Farsi/Dari, mahzedaar means tasty/delicious.
In urdu its the same i dont know where he got it from lmao
@@azaanmastoi3836that's thing, a word can have deep and multiple meanings.
when FutureCanoe said "Where is the custard yo?" and "trust me bro," it felt as if our relationship with him had grown considerably when compared to the past. Its as if he has started showing more of himself to us little by little. He even revealed a bit of the face ig? Well, that's that I guess but man I love this channel. I always look forward to every single new video. You make my day bruddha, and thanks for that
solid 8.8 on that transition, unexpected but conjured an audible "ouu." it showed a strong continuity to the topic and kept the viewers eyes focus on the main subject before, during and after the transition. Seamless and unobtrusive conversation that did include a 4th wall break. deducting 1 point but adding one point for using the 4th wall break as a joke opportunity. Great job team!
French crullers are made of choux pastry. That's why they're so light, they're basically deep-fried cream puffs sans cream.
Glad to see one of Claire’s recipes, her Dessert Person cookbook is one of my go-to’s.
The quality of your videos are getting better! Good job, team!😃
It's really hard to put into words the happiness it gives me watching your videos. Keep up with this amazing content, I'm already looking forward to the next video 😄
Love from Cuba 🇨🇺
this guy is like old babish, before he got all mainstream. very lowkey and authentic
So, it's 3 in the night where I am, but nevermind I'll watch this video because he's the best culinary UA-camr

I appreciate you breaking down the cultural context of the places you visited here ❤
I love all the editing and new camera angles in this video!
One of the only guys I can consistently relate to on this platform
Im so glad to see after countless cooking videos and practice youve gotten slightly better at cooking
First time when I tried making donuts I failed miserably and didn’t try making it since then. I guess I’ll give myself a second chance. Thank you Bro!
FYI the circle ball shape came from the original mochi-nuts called “Pon de Ring” by Mr. Donut in Japan
4:46 urdu, the national language of Pakistan, is a unique language. A word can have many meanings, depending upon its use. And many words hold large amount of meaning and context.
MahZeDar "مزیدار" in this case, is the fast essence of food, the quality that makes the food delicious. In simple words, "delicious"
Also Future Canoe, I'd love you try some Desi Pakistani dishes/food/drinks! Like Nihari, Pulao, Chicken Tandoori, Aloo ka Paratha, Lassi, Kulfi and much more!

the mochi donuts are called Pon De Ring and it's popular because of Mister Donut in Japan
that was an awesome transition!
nice transition, also appreciated the new angles. very fun !
Im likely moving to new york in the summer so it’s great to see these donut shops as recommendations. Also, love your humor!

He may not have to best tasting food but his amount of humor is enough for me
Futurecanoe is the embodiment of effortless effort. I'm sure he does a shit load of work, but his personality seems genuine and like how majority of people are imo. Nobody knows wtf to do and just improvise😂
Randomly came across his shorts and now I can't stop binging his vids
I went there a while back and they have the best donuts I have ever tasted in NYC
Idk if anybody told you this but you look REALLY cute in that sweater at the beginning

i love it when you do this
I would love to have some of that Boston Donut
In general I love the Boston style stuff as to how cool it sounds as well as the accent.
13 usd for 2 donuts?! I could eat for 2 days with that. NY is an insane place.
These aren't "Normal" donuts, you get these if you want to treat yourself. Its like starbucks vs artisan coffee shop like they're both coffee but for different markets/price points
FR if you're trying to eat for 2 days on $13, don't be buying fancy ass NYC donuts lmao
Bro feeds us crumbs of face reveals and I'm over here giggling and kicking my feet in the air when he does🤩

that transition was pretty awesome
He's started to become a good cook 😰😰😰
crazy how much they charge for deep fried dough covered in chocolate 😭
I love your videos FutureCanoe
so crunchy
as a vietnamese i'm always imtimidated by deep frying dishes, what do you do with that much oil afterwards? i feel like throwing it all out is such a waste but is it safe to keep that oil and reuse when you've already cooked it at such high temperatures? and how do you dispose of that much oil? just put it in a couple nilon bags? genuinely curious
Depends what you're frying but you can most often strain and keep it in the fridge. When I decide its been used for the last time (typical is ~3 times for me, mostly chicken) it gets funneled into some empty jug I'd saved, lid back on and trashed. Use a high smoke point oil for safe reusability
