Their relationship never could have been a healthy nurturing one. There is in my opinion a variation on Stockholm Syndrome due to her being in such a dangerous and controlled situation and her desperation. Had they not been caught kissing and had she escaped and married him there would not have been a "fairy tale" ending because there was too much emotional baggage. It was not a healthy relationship.

I can't believe 😠that Lucy's parents would sell their own daughter to marry that vile monster Vincent Preston for money 💸without a second thought or show any concern for Lucy's safety at all. I know that Vincent Preston is brought to justice for all he had done and sent to prison for live, but I think Lucy's parents should have been punished too and have them sent to prison for live for putting Lucy in the danger in the first place by selling her to marry Vincent Preston for money.
I think a part 2 is needed where the parents faces their karma for selling their daughter off to marry Vincent by being arrested themselves as they didn't realize that the child brides into forced marriages are now illegal in their state as ordered by the newly elected governor, Cecile.
Being lead off in handcuffs, the parents blame their daughter for ratting them out for it. Cecile tells them off that they don't deserve a daughter like her and willingly sold her off for monetary purposes. That they will get nothing but the worst sentences. In that moment, the daughter realizes that she should've been her mom instead of having to deal with 2 selfish parents.
Just because money is everything does not make them happier you only make them worse I don't understand why rich men have to be so so bullied just because you're rich does not mean you could just do whatever you want in life and then just to get away with it and it's just stupid spoiled rich people should lost all of their money due to their behavior and we want Justice 😠😠😠👊👊😡😡
Thanks to Cecile , Lucy and her baby are her new family . She'll be a better mother and grandmother far better than Lucy's money hungry bio parents .
I'm very sure Lucy's parents was punished for getting involved for the criminal and taking bribes. Thomas also end up getting arrested if not killed by Vincent. The first time she said no to him should have been the last time that he ever encountered her because now she got everyone imprisoned including Vincent. And no money or wealth will ever get him out of prison. Ask for Thomas well he's probably Six Feet Under for knocking up Lucy

I posted above that I would have loved an extended scene where she SUES her parents for what they did to her and WINS the lawsuit and the court forces them to give her what remains of the money they sold her for leaving them broke and destitute and her financially well off. Her now imprisoned ex husbands fortune should all go to her AS RESTITUTION.
Plus , Lucy was only seventeen when Vincent bought her .

You know what would have been a REALLY NICE ENDING? Karma for the lady who helped her? Maybe her farm is failing and she is about to have it repossessed by the bank and end up destitute but the young lady has her husband imprisoned, divorces him and is awarded all or most of his wealth in a lawsuit and uses some of that money to save the farm financially AND she makes the woman who saved her the baby's godmother

Raising a baby properly to at least age 18 is very EXPENSIVE and she was flat broke and hiding out in barns. I hope she got a divorce settlement that got her ALL of her wealthy husband's assets and then I hope she sued her father for the money he got selling her. She deserves to be a multimillionaire after the horrors she suffered.

Lucy did everyone a good deed as the district attorney had been desperately trying to have Vince Preston put away, but never had enough evidence to nail him.
Lucy's terrible fate and story was the evidence needed so Vince was put away, and lucy help make life safer both for herdelf and her baby but the rest of the community too. The district attorney was an old friend of Cecile, So she was happy to help her old friend with his difficult case, and everyone turned out happy.
Cecile has a new adopted daughter qnd grandson.
The DA solved a difficult case, and the community at large was safe from a top class criminal,,
whose bodyguard Tom, no doubt, got what was coming to him in the 1st place too.

Lucy made the right thing to have a flashdrive made and escape from her toxic husband then found a farm and Cecile help her give birth to her son then put her soon to be ex husband behind bars and as for her father, he should be in prison as well for selling his own daughter to that controlling man down the line just to have money in his pocket instead of working hard for it, let it be his consequence in the end run,as for bodyguard who is the father of her son whatever's his fate, let it be sealed by his own hand.
I may not be a wife like this young woman but I can relate. When I was 14 years old, I had grew chubby but it wasn't from eating to much, it was because I wasn't watching what I was eating. So basically I was consuming different foods and drinks. I told my parents about it but they just made fun of me and called me names. I went into depression for 7 years afraid that no one would love a fat girl like me.
