For me at least lands of evershade felt unique compared to the other offerings. But Im a solo player so might be a different view :) Did not need the 50 million hours of addon expansions though.

@@Vequeth I agree with the uniqueness factor and I think it's going to shine at solo over other player counts. Hope you love it!

Marvel United's strength is its modularity and variety. I don't think it gets significantly better with later iterations, though it does get slightly more complex. Think of it more like Mario Party, one minigame isn't the most interesting but chaining a bunch together can be satisfying. You can play 4-5 villains in a couple hours and get pretty different experiences.

I had a wonderful gaming day with the group on Saturday. I got to get Nemesis out it and we played with some of the Aftermath characters which was fun as the first wave of retaliation shipped and I finally got to play Nemesis Aftermath! I lost but also we actually had people win that game so that’s a win in my book!
The other thing I wanted to say is that I thought kickstarters were a way to receive fun packages without feeling guilty for buying them. It turns out it just delays the guilt until you get your package and then you have to ask yourself “damn, where am I gonna put this?” I had Barbaric arrive and it’s really fun but takes up two spots on my Kallax and Heroes of Land Air and Sea arrived and while it looks like a blast, the boxes are just big enough to *not* fit on a Kallax. 😭

@@sideswipe2615 awesome, I love that I'm glad you enjoyed :)
Yeah kickstarters are always sooooo big too, the box size is out of control on a lot of these games and as someone with limited space it makes me be more choosy now too for the larger boxes because I just can't fit them anywhere!

7th citadel i didnt back because of your points on 7th continent. I did my research too. I also feel the same way with campaign games. I am nervous about liking dantes inferno since backing, but hoping I do when I receive it. CMON had me this year, but no more :3 I have enough content from them.

My guess is 70 million. I am ashamed to say I thought i would be spending less money this year but I ended up spending more than the year before. But the line is drawn, we are doing a hard limit for 2025.
Of the campaigns highlighted, I backed 3 of the honorable mentions and 10/15 ranked titles. I will be busy for the next few years.

Hmmm… some thoughts, not necessarily all over 1 mil:
    - Dominate & delegate
    - undergrove
    - la fleur
    - company of Heroes
    - Nemisis retaliation

Agree with regard to Earth - I backed in the hopes of a campaign reveal for more solo cards but didn’t happen, that’s an end for Earth content for me.

Will pick up Lands of Evershade retail if I’m still in the hobby…

I backed "Blood" (base + stretch goals) because I found the loop of the game to be compelling and nothing I had in my collection (I think it's similar to Deep Madness). Also backed DC Heroes United because I'm a big baby wearing a giant diaper and drink from a baby bottle. The minis are cool and I can see how the mission conditions combined with the villain abilities can complicate the simple game play. So until you change your tune about the United system, I'm just going to have a hissy fit in my crib.
Also, I got Gloomhaven digital and it's SO much better than the board game. Look at me NOT doing any admin for this game! It's great! Enjoying Everdell digital as well. Next will be Dune Imperium and Spirit Island but Gloomhaven has got my hooked! So much fun! Happy New Year, Chris!

I'm pleased that it goes with my theory of most 1 dollars being on my low interest rate, and also only appearing here with an existing fan base and not outperforming what expectations and estimates likely were. Just showing that it really should be a flash in the pan.

Out of these I backed Blood, DC United, CDMD, Lands of Evershade, and Grimcoven. Blood and Grimcoven were all in because I love Gothic horror and I couldn't help myself. 😅 All the rest were either core box only or with an exclusive expansion add-on. Overall I'm backing fewer games every year because I have very few holes in my gaming collection, and I can't justify adding games when there's already something in my collection that scratches that itch. I'm also getting very tired of waiting years for a game to deliver and being hit with ever more expensive shipping.
As far as your United commentary, I can't say once way or another as this will be my first United game because DC interests me far more than Marvel.

Earth’s $1 pledge wasn’t actually a pre-pledge, it was a purchase you could make if you signed up for their newsletter. I was able to sign up and pay the $1 during the campaign and get the module rather than paying the add-on price of $12. I feel the newsletter method isn’t predatory compared to the pre-pledge as you don’t have to early invest and you can unsubscribe from the newsletter after getting your pledge.

@@deathnavy I get what you're saying, but it also is just a made up thing to give you a sunk cost fallacy. Like that could have just been a thing you get by backing on Kickstarter by an ordinary stretch goal, but instead the additional steps create that additional buy in and the hope for conversion
