I'm so glad to see you for first time
and with your first reaction to ABBA
several things to say about "Chiquitita" and it's context in 1979
Chiquitita" means 'little girl' (with affection) in spanish And the melody have a spanish tune, specialy by the acustic guitar But the center is the wonderful piano, like akmost all ABBA songs
"Chiquitita" is a beautiful song, it has hopeful lyrics, a melody that starts very soft with the blonde Agnetha's solo, then grows and explodes in a powerful chorus; Agnetha and Anni Frida's vocal harmonies are of excellence
It allows us to check how excellent singers Agnetha and Frida are and what harmonies of excellence they achieve. It stands out especially when they stretch the monosyllables with great quality and beauty
"Chiquitita" was premiered especially for the UNICEF Concert (January 9, 1979) and its royalties are eternal for UNICEF
"Chiquitita" was ABBA's greatest success in Latin America, that prompted ABBA to record it in Spanish, and its success was so extraordinary that in the following year ABBA recorded a full album with their best songs entirely in Spanish
("Chiquitita" in Spanish is the biggest ABBA hit in My country Argentina)
Chiquitita" is in the Top 3 of all ABBA worldwide biggest hits, with 'Dancing Queen" and "Fernando", and it's a fantastic Masterpiece
This promotional video was in February 1979 in Swizterland (ABBA goes for a TV Special)
It's the only promotional video that ABBA made without Sweden

Agnetha Falstkog ,the blonde , is known to have Pitch Perfect ,perfect pitch ,along with an UNBLEAVABLE B7 - F7 clear range.
You got the pitch perfect girl wrong. The brunette is the one known for her technical proficientcy. She did not win all those best vocalist talent hunts for nothing.
Anni-Frid Lyngstad is the one that has always had the stellar reputation.
She was a child prodigy vocalist known for her keen ear. She later master diaphragmatic breathing as she grew. Before ABBA she came from the stages. A professional working vocalist entertainer pro.
Agnetha is emotive but not technically proficient.
Frida is emotive and technically proficient.
Frida is the one that swept the talent hunts. Winning best vocalist as a child, pre teen, teen and adult too include multiple National Best vocalist wins in 1964 & 1967.

The girls abilities are discussed. It is Frida that gets enormous praise from music peers too include the entire ABBA/Polar Music team.
Benny Bjorn and Michael Tretow ABBA's recording engineer considered Frida a master vocalist.
Frida has always had a stellar reputation among her music peers since she was a child.
Agnetha is fine, but she does not have the refined vocal skills of Frida. Agnetha is known for her technical issues, too include her pitch issues that are very noticeable in live environments.
If you continue with ABBA you will not regret.
My Moms name was Linda and unfortunately she passed away December 12/12 due to Breast Cancer. While she was here she had a big heart and always sacrificed herself to help others in need. There isnt a day that goes by that I do not think of her and miss her. The World is not the same without her in it. This was her favorite song and I burn a candle and play this song every Christmas Holiday in her honor.
Be consoled dear friend and may God grant her soul eternal rest amen!!.
If humankind doesn't destroy this planet and if we stumble upon aliens, they should hear this song as the first.
