    Love this! We started social studies and science curriculums this year (3rd grade and Pre-K sits in). I did not want to spend a lot on curriculums and decided to do my own unit studies. We are using the Imagination Station series as our spine (a Christian variant of the Magic Tree House). We’ve already done: Ancient Rome, Ancient China, the Vikings, and are currently on the Middle Ages. My kids are loving it! Other than a few things per unit from teachers pay teachers, I have gotten everything else from the library or Pinterest! Thanks for sharing! ❤️

      That sounds like a great idea! We've read one Imagination Station before. It was a couple years ago. Maybe we should try again!! :)

      Thank you for the imagination station recc. My eldest didn’t like magic tree house, too much suspense for them. Definitely going to check that out!

    Your printables look fun! When did you find time to create a website?!?! 😃 that’s amazing!
    Anyway….this is what I’m thinking for history this year. I felt like I was listening to you explain what’s floating around in my brain! Lol!
    Although…I won’t be doing it for free. My library isn’t public and it’s not very good. So I have purchase a library card for the good the library and it’s not as convenient. But I am thinking this would simplify so much if I just took advantage of those “free books” our library doesn’t have a ton of audio books and awesome collection of movies and documentaries! I could totally teach history from the library!

    We do history wivout a curriculum. I wanted my kids to learn the history of Australia as im Aussie. We use a lot of UA-cam. I grew up going to museums often and that’s something that is easy to do and doesn’t cost or cost much.

    We are doing early American history, will definitely take a look at some of the booklist suggestions you made, thank you! A friend also gave us Story of the World for free, do planning on using that blessing for sure 😁

    Thank you for this I was thinking about putting a few things together without purchasing a curriculum kids are K and 3rd grade and history for us has to be short and engaging. Love RAR too

    i saw a video you did that i cant comment on so im asking here can you really use the activity book of story of the world and not the story book portion

    • @JoyfulNoiseLiving
      @JoyfulNoiseLiving  3 роки тому +1

      Oh, no! Which video was that? I can check on it. I don't remember saying not using the story book, but I may have meant using the book list in the activity book that goes along with each chapter. and just reading those books, and then doing a few of the activities that go along with the books that you read.

    How would you make the timeline ??
    How old were your kids when you started doing history with them??

    • @JoyfulNoiseLiving
      @JoyfulNoiseLiving  3 роки тому +1

      You could order a timeline from Beautiful Feet Books, or connect thin strips of card stock together, and then fold it to be able to store flat, or you could put it up on the wall!

      @@priscillaramos3033 Weeelll, my oldest was 1st grade, middle son was 4yo , and youngest was a toddler when I started History. We did Story of the World Volume 1. I think it went over their heads. Then for the following 2 years we did US History. I recommend doing Beautiful Feet Books Around the World 1 and 2 for Kids under 7, or BFB Early Modern U.S. History. Then Playful Pioneers, The Kind Kingdom, and The Peaceful People from The Peaceful Press for ages 7-10.
