I have a visual timer on my phone that I use for my kiddos. It’s very useful when we’re out and about.

I am very easily distracted and have been trying to be more organised. I tried the alarms - those alarms going off gave me anxiety.
Found that keeping our days simple has helpd. I block schedule and loop subjects.
The Motivated Mom homemaking planner has helped me keep on top of the housework.

Thanks for sharing! I can see how alarms may not be helpful for some people. So glad you found a way to keep things simple!

Personally, I considered my ultimate responsibility of being mentally present with my teens. For that reason, I always carry a notebook, wherever we go. That allows me to write down great ideas that I can review in the evening. Rule #1: BE HERE NOW. It's also great for relationships.

SO GOOD! Yes! A notebook to carry around is a good idea. Similar to the stick notes, but everything stays in one place and is harder to loose 😂 I constantly have to remember to "Be here now." thanks for sharing!

I almost laughed that you posted this today....I was JUST talking to my husband about how much I'm struggling with this. I've been using downtime on my phone but today I just left it out of the school room entirely and we got SO much more done. (I also went to sleep earlier, got up earlier, and got started earlier...amazing how that helps lol.) I feel like my biggest thing is I just don't know what our "schedule"/routine should be....I just want someone else to make one for me so I can try to stick to it. 🤣 We have a visual timer just like yours but it's finicky....sometimes it will count down but never move the last tiny bit that makes the alarm actually go off. I need to start setting timers for sure. Could you share sometime what your daily schedule looks like? Like how many hours you do school with your kids and where you fit in time to clean the house, do laundry, etc? I have a lot of the same things as you: a similar lists app (I use AnyList), a dry erase board, and a paper planner. I use one from Passionate Penny Pincher because it has a lot of house tasks included in it. I like being told what to clean when lol but I haven't been doing a great job of checking it all off....sometimes makes me feel more scattered because I feel like I'm working nonstop everyday yet unable to check off very much...

Oh, goodness, I can 100 percent relate to all your thoughts! Waking up earlier and getting started earlier helps me so much as well! At least getting up an hour before the kids to get myself set for the day and do a few things uninterrupted. I love that you have a house cleaning planner that tells you what to clean when. I have been thinking of getting one of those. The only thing is, I don't always like to follow it and get frustrated that I "have" to clean something because the planner told me to, then I don't want to do it 😂
I have to tell you that the best thing that has helped me is following Mystic Winckler and doing her course. (She has a book coming out soon! I will share it when it releases.) I have learned so much from her about managing my time and my household tasks.
Our day isn't always the same, but I try to block my time. THIS video might help: ua-cam.com/video/tStwrMrEL5o/v-deo.html. This video might help as well: ua-cam.com/video/G01RGrilP-s/v-deo.html

@@JoyfulNoiseLearning Oh goodness, I just saw this reply.... see how scattered I am?! haha. I am sometimes the same way with the cleaning tasks in the planner. Or if something is planned for one day and I don't have time I don't always look back another day, but it's good for telling me what I could be doing each day and helps me realize when something has been neglected lol. I actually got her Simplified Organization book for Christmas! I just need to find time to sit down and read it lol. I will definitely check out your other videos. Thanks!!
