2:17 theres something so funny about this part on the video, just Wes running around while two tall birds chase after him and some goofy ass music plays in the background, it feels so tom and jerry
if you want a non rift version, I suggest the bunnymen method. 1-2 tallbird nests in one small pen, and 3 bunnymen huts separated from the nests by a fence. Collect periodically; for more information, there was another guide on it.
i first found this game when it was only playable through the chrome web app many years ago now i came back to it and its such a blast im only on day 4 so far
You just showed up in my recommended, but I love the presentation and decor!! Even your description is laid out so neatly. Wonderful effort, subscribed c:
Indeed and like i mention in the description, you can also use winonas catapult, which are alot less hard to gather than houndius shootiuses, but are character specific. Do use houndius though if you feel it fits your playstyle better! Though i still wanted to showcase this, because i feel like deadly brightshade have alot of potential when it comes to farms.
It doesn’t seem like those tall birds will attack walls? If so I might just use another houndius shootius, I’ve been really into them lately. I have one on a boat next to my farm since the bright shade plants can’t do water.
what mode was used in this video? because in the past, no bird that had just been born or left its nest was building a new nest. I thought it was just something specific to (moles) is it due to the new update ?
No mod needed for this! Tallbird now create a new nest if they don't already have one. This change was made in the "A Little Drama" update, released last year on october 20 2022. Hope this help :)
I wonder one thing, in my long worlds i sometimes stumble upon teen or small birds spawning on the locations i haven't been in for a while from egg in a tallbird nest. Do you think its possible to grow tallbirds/teenbirds on their own from eggs outside of your character loaded area without the need to feed them? OR at least without small bird part, cause i don't remember if extra tallbirds do spawn this way
I tried reproducing this behavior, but didn't have much success, at least with my own grown smallbirds. Though let's say you haven't been in your mosaic biome in a while, you may be able to find a few teenbirds/smallbird there (if they aren't killed by their Tallbirds). You could teleport those to your pen and skip a few days of growing them! The other small problem that comes from that, is that idk if they would all have the same growth age. Some of them might turn to tallbirds sooner than the others and try to murder the rest of the flock you are trying to raise... Those are my thoughts though and i hope it helps!
They will starve to death but you have alot of time between them losing their bond with you and actually dying, they'll start chirpping more and more often and eventually they'll stop following you around. When they stop following you, you can drop food on the floor safely. Like mention by the pin comment, you can apparently put them in the pen, walk a way a few screen and log out, to dissociate yourself from them. Hope this helps!
To be honest, i don't know the answer to that question haha i'd imagine around 15 maximum in a pen that's 3x3. The limiting factor imo is getting more bird in the same pen because it becomes more and more dangerous to add more, the more bird you have (unless you raise your own birds to adulthood). I would make multiple separate pens if i wanted to farm that many. Another thing to note is that with enough tallbirds, if they all attack together they'd be able to kill a singular deadly brightshade before it manages to kill your flock. In my current world, my pen format is 5x4 and i have 10 tallbirds in it. But i think i could easily double the number of bird inside of it. Hope this helps and do share your result if you test it out on your own!
This depends of how many Tallbirds you have. In the video, I had 8 of them and they all targeted the same Brightshade. That Brightshade took only one shot of a brightshade sword afterward to die (meaning it was on the verge of death). So i'd imagine 1 deadly brightshade can kill 8 Tallbirds max before you'd need a new one. Usually though, if you kill all of your brightshade every time you use the farm, new ones will spawn every 900sec or so while a lunar rift is activated (if im not mistaken i'd need to recheck that info). So new deadly brightshade should respawn before the Tallbirds are respawned and new eggs are layed. Hope this helps!
El pájaro polly le tendrá miedo a las plantas y no recogerá el botín, también creo que no podrá recoger los huevos si están en los nidos, pero podría equivocarme en ese último punto, requeriría pruebas.
It could work, but i'm 95% sure it wouldn't be practical :( The eyeplant does harvest the nest properly! Though tallbirds are constantly gonna attack the eye plants from the lureplants making the eyes respawn in places it wouldn't be to useful. Also the lureplants would digest the eggs quite quickly if you forget to harvest your farm at the right time. There's potential though and would need to be look further into it. But for now i don't think it be to practical. :(
Which one are you referencing? In the Tallbird pen, the three turf used were: Slimy turf (found in the caves), rocky turfs (found above on mainland and cave) and Brick flooring (you get the blueprint for it by giving a Red crown to antlion, Red crowns can be fished in the oasis during summer) if those are not the one you were referencing, lmk the time frame and i'll help you out :3
I meant the brick flooring, thanks so much! I've seen this turf another videos but cant find it in the game or mods. I missed that in the updates I guess.@@warlockadamm
You can get away from the teen birds, log out and they will stop following you

Very interesting guide, I've never thought about using tall birds like this. May try it in one of my worlds.

Really good video liked how you incorporated all the information within
Nice aesthetic guide, thanks for bringing the power of the Scotch Eggs and Tallbird Farms to my attention.
Can't wait to incomperate this to an upcoming megabase! Thank you ❤
great video! guide was helpful but I also really enjoyed the builds! i'd love to see some base designs/tours or something
Thank you! I really really enjoy decorating and megabasing! I might eventually make some videos about it :3
This is such a concise and well done guide!!
thank you it means alot!

Thank you it means alot :3 Glad you liked it and that the description didn't go unnoticed ^^
Here's praying I get a tallfort next world
You can use Hondious, about 2-4,. It will take more time to kill the birds but surely you won't be locked by the rift spawn cycle anymore.
Indeed and like i mention in the description, you can also use winonas catapult, which are alot less hard to gather than houndius shootiuses, but are character specific. Do use houndius though if you feel it fits your playstyle better!

I love the decorations! Will new tallbirds spawn from the nests even if there is no egg?
Yes! As long as the nest is there, a new fully grown tallbird will respawn every 5 days and will then lay an egg 3-5 days after! Hope this helps :)
10/10 and a follow. I look forward to your videos

Nope tall birds don't attack walls! The houndius might be a little slow, but it will get the job done :)
you can also use winona

If i stop feeding the teenbirds the first day they grow, will they starve to death? If so then when can i safely stop feeding them?
They will starve to death but you have alot of time between them losing their bond with you and actually dying, they'll start chirpping more and more often and eventually they'll stop following you around.

Frogs, bunnies or a fire farm would be way simpler I think.
How long does it take for the Brighstshades to die off so you have to place new ones?

@@warlockadamm thanks for the info, you should also place farm plants there instead of a sapling bcs it has higher priority for brightshades
