    Beautiful model for being 3 rail. Alot of the stuff ive seen is very toyish looking. Nice work. The low shots where you can't see the middle rail, one would never know this is 3 rails. Absolutely fantastic work

    Norm, Another great video. I have always been a HO scale guy back in the day and was a fan of Western roads, having modelled the Union Pacific in a 1990-91 era, but I love model railroads that are completely tied together from locomotives, rolling stock, weathering, scenery to period correct vehicles and buildings, and you have masterfully captured that. I mean I cringe when I see layouts where a steam locomotive passes a Walmart store, or Pennsy Centipede passes a grade crossing and a brand new Corvette is waiting there, or a couple of SD-70ACe diesel drag a train by and the first car is a 40 wooden cattle car! Thanks for sharing your masterpiece!

    Nice Y6b, dude! Looks great! I have 2 Y6b's. They are great engines. Not just with N&W coal hoppers do they look at home, I've had mine pull WM, B&O and Pennsy hoppers! They look awesome with a coal drag and general frieghts.
    Y6b's were the ultimate development of the 2-8-8-2 design when N&W equipped them with roller bearings on all axles, holding off dieselization on the N&W until the mid fifties when "the writing was on the wall" for steam. The last one dropped its fires in 1961!

    Hi mate, great video again. regarding the damaged/missing rivets at the tender I recommend the 3D rivet decals from Archer fine transfers! they have a variety of sizes including O scale. Are very easy to use, you can paint over them and looks phenomenal! I use in some of my projects with great results. give a try next time.... take care!

    Looks real nice. That 3D printer looks like a valuable tool. I’m guessing those rivets got worn off from the tender always rubbing something on the layout like a tunnel portal or something on that order. Your efforts paid off on this locomotive. Thanks for sharing.

    Another fantastic beastie from the past - any preserved, or is it just the 'halo products' - Hudson, Big Boy, 'J-Class' etc ...?
    We've almost got a little too carried away here in UK - so many of the old steam locomotives preserved, admittedly in various conditions and availabilities.
    Keep these videos coming - they're great to see.

    • @LucasTheDookis
      @LucasTheDookis Рік тому

      @@normstrains glad to be of assistance. If you start noticing small bumps over vase mode prints occasionally you may need to turn off power off recovery mode on the printer. Sometimes the geometry gets too complex for vase mode files to easily convert to gcode

    • @mike6206
      @mike6206 Рік тому +1

      If you don't have 3D printing access, Bull Frog Snot is a definite go-to. I've used it on my WM J1 Potomac as a "quick fix" for drivers slipping off the track on the curve coming out of my cut. My Rivarossi Allegheny lost theirs, so they still have Bull Frog Snot tires on it.

    • @normstrains
      @normstrains  Рік тому +1

      I was under the impression it was applied to a plain driver. Not sure you can fill a traction tire slot.
