Love Taylor Swift but everything in the "The Man" that she says would be true if she were a man already applies to her, as a woman. She shot to the top of the industry faster than anyone, and wrote a song about how she could have done it faster if she wasn't oppressed. In fact, if she had been a man it probably would have been worse, since her being a woman was integral to her brand, music and life experiences that led her to where she is. It's a catchy but ridiculous song, and I wish she didn't always have to think of herself as a victim which is not actually empowering.

Yeah, but we don't know how much she dealt with behind the scenes. I imagine they try to control and manipulate her more so then they would have done if she were a man. Kesha is another pop star that signed manipulative deals when she was young. But you don't really hear about that with male artists.
