Love using Studio in Canvas! Thanks for the great tutorial and tips using it. I love using a video quiz as a beginning assignment for totally online courses with my welcome video for the first week of class when I explain everything.
For many years I used screencast-o-matic or Jing in my classes. It's so nice to have a good integrated platform right in Canvas. It's makes it easier for me to add my multimedia and keep track of videos. :D
This is really helpful! Is it best to use Studio as a Discussion or an Assignment. I haven't used Studio as an assignment, I've always used Flipgrid, so I'm trying something new.
Both! If you're teaching an onground class with an online discussion then they may not appreciate the Studio component since they could see it as busy work, but for online classes Studio can help you build a community of learning. The nuances of speech and mannerisms is valuable. Flipgrid is also okay.
Studio is a native platform that's integrated by Instructure. I haven't used EdPuzzle in a few years, but the premise back then was that you can import a UA-cam video and make annotations or quiz questions. With Studio you can create your own webcam or screencast recording, or import from UA-cam or upload from your computer. You can also edit your video - adding effects, cropping, etc.

Thank you for an excellent explanation
You are welcome!

How is Studio different than Edpuzzles?

Doesn't explain how to actually add questions or make it a quiz. Just explains what it is. Disappointing.
You'll be able to find videos on how to create quizzes in Canvas. This video is part of a Canvas Studio overview playlist.
