I have no respect for people who defend family members that do horrible things that are CLEARLY wrong. They should all get punished too for supporting that behavior. The Hmong community needs to change that mindset. Family is family but wrong is wrong, esp this kind of thing.

Yes, to the women who want to tell their stories but don't want their husbands to take responsibilities for what they did they need to understand that they too can get in trouble. Such sad stories in our Hmoob communities. These issues need to come out and the perpetrators need to be locked up.

My blood boiling when I listen to this story
It's story like this that breaks my heart for the young girl. She is the real victim who cannot speak for herself. It makes my furious that his family is defending him and cursing her and her daughter. So do they think it's right for their brother or son to do something horrific to someone else's child. He didn't kill her but scared her for the rest of her life still as bad. I hope karma comes back to the husband's family so they know how painful it is when one of their child is hurt.
Any woman who doesn't report these, you are killing your own child and deserve to be in prison as well.

This story is just the tip of the iceberg… highlighting the ugly underbelly of the Hmong culture where all males are held on a pedestal regardless of their crime/ actions. People whom support such a criminal should be held culpable as well. Your young child was brain washed to become his sexual victim so she would be conflicted. She is traumatized and will probably suffer from PTSD, so stay strong for her and she may need professional support/ therapy. Your ex-husband has no conscience and obviously does not see the wrong in his action as demonstrated by his demands to be forgiven. I’m proud of you mom for protecting your child.

I believe this happens more then reported in the hmong community and i am happy to hear that its getting reported but i can only wish that more hmong mothers can understand how wrong this is and turn in their husbands. My heartbreaks for those suffering kids who has to go thur this. I applaud u May for volunteering to be a mandated reporter.
