Honestly, team mode is really hype! The fact that the meta could be a complete 180 from solo ranked due to characters now wanting to focus on synthesizing abilities instead of raw speed. Gonna be a ton of fun, 100% gonna get my friends and I back on the game again!
You overlooked one thing. Collection Level rewards are gone, Player Rank rewards replace them.
It's clear what the intent is to me, they are taking away collection level rewards and moving them to ranked, incentivizing people into playing more ranked, hoping that this will naturally solve the matchmaking issues.
This is a direct change to push people who don't enjoy ranked and only played it for rewards and stopped playing it because they can no longer earn free gold passes to feel like they have to play it.
I'll also say, having my experiences with this happening with other games, the addition of team mode will only hurt matchmaking because it will be splitting the player base.
@HighLanderPonyYT Yeah that's more or less what I meant by not enjoying ranked. Regulated is just simply more fun because it feels like your skill actually matters.

When I heard that a team mode was coming, I immediately thought of Ace racer cuz they also have a team mode and have certain classes in that game for that team mode from speedsters that are faster and also come with speed abilities interceptors or moreover brawlers in this game that are meant to punch people in the face and then their supports which is to help their team win the race

Since it never got mentioned, i assume Golden Passes didn't change and will remain $20 per season unless you dumped all tokens in Golden Tokens before they turned that off. This Team stuff would be cool if the main draw per season wasn't still super greedy.

Multiplayer rank hopefully is less frustrating and time-consuming as before. I hated Mulitplayer rank so much that I'm only forced to do it just to get bigger rewards especially blue tokens and Racer Shards.
If teammates can use Mike's doors or Ariel's relics, that'd be absolutely insane! I can't wait to race with you and everyone in the Discord!

I have a question, the rewards from the collections section are eliminated and their rewards go to the Player Rank? Because I seem to read that there will be no rewards directly associated with the Collection section.
It was slow, but easy to level up the collection and claim its rewards, I would almost have the pegasus equipment fragments but if they add it to RMJ mode I don't know if I will be able to claim them as a free player, my runners are level 30, I haven't been able to reach Diamond, so I won't be able to have all the rewards from the collection section.
I'm happy and excited for changes and new things to try. However, team mode being unregulated adds basicly a pvp mode to the game. Paired with mobile launch, it can't be a coincidence and feels like a very sneaky,.. something.. to encourage spending. But hopefully it goes well, it could be incredibly fun, but it also could introduce a new level of toxicity in the game. With teammates leaving before a match even starts due to "underleveled teammates" dragging them down, etc. Hense, spending to get stronger has a super high priority it didn't have before. That said, big changes, new stuff, hopefully it's fun!

i use to play Crash Team Racing and Sonic Racing at friend place because i don't have PS+ now finally Speedstorm and i have made some online friend to play with from Mexico
only thing i might get heated on if Rocket League league player don't play and only want to 1 vs 1 , nope not happening
Sounds fun, team mode could make me want to try online more often

I like to think that one possilibity for team racing is how it is not only "an easy way to rank up" but also something where you don't get too punished if you happen to end up on the losing side of things. More specifically, if it turns out you got second, but you were in the middle of the other team who got 1, 3 & 4. It could be possible that maybe the point loss isn't as bad as if you were at the higher ranks but I guess we'll have to wait and see.
Otherwise, Team races definitely will be a delight to see since that will definitely help to shake things up. Made a comment saying, "How cool it would be to help out teammates and power each other up" but I posted that a bit too early since I saw that was covered in the video too. Still, this could definitely help to be a breath of fresh air for the game (since admittedly, I didn't do much for this last season).
Thanks to the player rank reward update, I am able to unlock Jasmine and user her as my new main over Mulan
I actually got excited from the title, thinking they put their butts down and worked hard into introducing an additional game mode with its own system, both rewards and gameplay... when I realized they just introduced boosting. Correct if I'm wrong but isnt boosting against the eula terms of use because of ruining the matchmaking like alt accounts. Dont really wanna be negative but still avoiding resolving the issues of the game both in systems and gameplay and producing BEEP (thats a curse work)
It’s not boosting, it’s just a 3v3 mode
Reading that CPU racers will now count in Multiplayer races will be a huge boost for many. Now you might have only three live players and 5 CPU and getting 3rd won't be punishing. Easier to judge how truly well you are doing and earn your way up the ranks even if most are CPU racers.
Anyone know if they have sent out the season 8 update across the platforms because it hasn’t shown up on Nintendo platform and it apparently starts in less than 8 hours or so in EST?
Does anyone know if MPR16 is still the cutoff where you start losing ranked points when you lose a race? Or will that now be pushed to Champion?
It's always a monkeys paw with these guys. It sounds great but there is sure to be some horrible draw back. Let's start by asking how much is team mode gonna cost? Because u have to pay if u want to have any fun
