There are several trails to consider at this national monument if you want to see prehistoric artwork, including rock art and petroglyphs.     You got to visit Piney Creek Ravine in Southern Illinois. It has the largest collection of petroglyphs in the state. There are over 150 motifs on site, and winter solstice is the best time to see them. They were actually carved in a manner that stands out the most on winter solstice

    So basically this is antique graffiti? Interesting in a weird kind of way. I wonder what the trains in New York will be called in a hundred years...

      Not really the same as graffiti, although I could see why some folks would see it that way. The rock imagery generally had some sort of cultural or religious significance. What it meant exactly is up for debate among a lot of experts and tribal leaders. Thanks for watching. -Ari
